I did enjoy Nekocon overall but I think I'm happier with larger conventions. Just my personal taste.

IT DID UGH. Friday was decent but Saturday was shit. I think Katsucon is one of my favourite cons in terms of size/quality.

This was my first Nekocon and while I did enjoy myself, I was seriously underwhelmed :/ though it did get me hyped for Katsucon so there's that.

I agree about Katsucon, Neko was entertaining enough but after a while you stopped seeing new people and there were practically no good panels. The dealer's room was actually pretty bitchin' for such a small con though, I managed to find some good shit.

First Neko (and con), went to see this chick I like that told me about it. Ran into her a handful of times, so good weekend for me. Spent about $260 on shit, Final Fantasy art book, some toys, but God damn it no dealer had season one of Haganai.

Didn't cosplay because I don't have one, hopefully I can pull something together for the next con I go to.

The registration lines this year were fucking ridiculous and overly complicated for no reason.

And the con was overstaffed too, I went up to 3 people to ask a question and none of them had any idea of how to help me because they hadn't even done anything yet.

Besides the con being run pretty shittily this year I think most everyone had a good time

Katsucon > Otakon > Nekocon. I enjoy all three though

This was their first year on a new registration system. Next year it'll be so much simpler as it keeps your info in their database.

The Deadpool and Skeletor armies were pretty fuckin sweet.
Place seemed really crowded this year, though I am rarely interested in panels at all.
Apparently the artists for the rave cancelled at the last minute, but I hate techno in general so I can't really judge.

spin cycle was good but Dj aftershock sucks dick. I was pissed he came back. I only went on Friday so I'm not sure how the rest of the con was, stupid work... and apart from the crappy reg lines, it was a fairly good con.

All in all, I have no regrets and thought it was pretty damn fun. I went with my usual crew (we've all gone for like 6 years) and we had plenty of fun; blew a lot of money between hotel, cosplay, food and shit-i-didn't-need. This was the first year we all took cosplaying seriously. The people in our group were Cerebella from Skullgirls, Trafalgar Law from One Piece, Black Rock Shooter, Deadpool, Professor Birch, my girlfriend went with the theme and did a strawberry kimono, and then I was Basil Hawkins from One Piece. If anyone took pics, I'd love to see 'em. None of us could really carry a camera.

Overall I thought the con was fun. I know it's not as big or impressive as other conventions, but it definitely scratches an itch.

Plus it's nice to be in a place in the south where you can hold hands with your boyfriend and not be looked at like a freak.

For a smaller con it was a lot of fun. Though that was probably because I got to spend it with the bf and his friends.

Unfortunately I don't have any pictures other than some selfies in cosplay.

I'm kinda eh on it. The fighting seemed really sloppy and the Saber's armor looked like it was getting ready to fall apart on stage.

But seems like dramatic is the way to go if competing at Nekocon. dramatic skits have taken Best in Show the last 5 years.

Poor thing! If you are new to conventions and have anxiety-related problems it's a good idea to go with people who are A) able to calm you down and B) reliable.

My boyfriend has pretty bad social anxiety, so being able to be close to me and rely on me during his first con was really important to him.

It was my first convention, right now it's surreal seeing people I recognize from the con in pictures on 4chan. How does nekocon compare to other conventions, I enjoyed it. Aside from the excessive homestuck and furry cosplays

Not same guy, but shhhiiit it was my first con and I while I've been getting better at my social anxiety, there was literally nobody I knew there. My best friend there was one of the vendors, I've been going to his shop every week for a year. And a girl that works at the Gamestop I go to. Other than I knew literally no one, and it was awful. The con itself was great, and I can't wait to go to another, but holy shit I need at least one other person I know to hang out with me.
