Secrets are up http://behind-the-bows.livejournal.com/52124.html

I'm always surprised by what people decide to put up for secrets. I always expect like 10 secrets about something and then when they get posted, I don't usually see the things I think are big deals

By "big deals" you mean the amount of replies on 4chan threads and gtfo posts? Because seriously, half of the "juicy drama" around here really isn't that entertaining, and doubly so for that whole Marie/Choke drama since neither bitch looked right being passive aggressive.

I hate their no-links policy. My secret was rejected because of not obscuring adress of btssb comm on livejournal, and the secret wasn't even mean! I'd understand if I were spamming with advertisments, but this is one of the most-known lolita related comms.

I was wondering the same thing. Also I have seen girls (thin girls) with large boobs who look terrible in certain dresses, because the cut is intended for a flatter chest. They either get a weird boobloaf effect, despite being under the bust measurements for the piece, or they end up with a really chubby looking torso because they lose all waist definition. Hell, I have small boobs and even I find some dresses look bad because my bust measurement is a lot bigger than my waist measurement (thank you ribcage...)

cup size is determined by the ratio between your underbust and your bust measurement, ie: i have a 28 inch underbust measurement, and a 33 bust measurement, which technically makes me a 28DDD (though that size is a pain in the ass to find at my budget so I usually just go for snug fitting 32Cs/30Ds)

Again, starting point for figuring out sizing hahaha
There's a lot of variation from brand to brand and style to style. I've, personally, had the best luck with things from Elle MacPherson, since they seem to work well with how I'm shaped and where my boobs sit on my chest. Other people might have better luck with, say, Triumph or Chantelle or La Perla.

Definitely agreeing with you here. Each shop seems to do their own slight variations on sizing. Best thing to do is go into shops and try them on, then you can see where to adjust. >>7143938
That can't be right, for each inch of difference between band and breast size is 1 cup. For 32" band and 33.5" breast would be 1.5" difference, meaning B cup. The calculator also says right there that it doesn't work for people smaller than a C.

>> No.7143961

Oh is that how it works? So 6" difference would make it an E cup?

>> No.7143965

>>7143947
You don't need a calculator. Your underbust is your band size, no addition needed. Each inch of difference is an additional cup size. I know you're going to say

>WATT BUT G CUP IS LIKE PORNO FAKE MODE!

But it isn't, we've just been misled into believing D and DD is somehow super huge since it's the largest cup size in most chain stores. Stores which also use the outdated method of adding 3-4 additional inches to your underbust measurement (which of course is taken OVER your clothing, laughable) to get your band size.

>> No.7143969

wtf that calculator... I have been measured at a bra shop and they said I'm a 30D or a 32C ( I personally think 32C fits me best as 30D is a bit too tight) but this calculator said I'm a 28D like shit no, that would be SOO tight

>> No.7143973

>>7143965
>we've just been misled into believing D and DD is somehow super huge since it's the largest cup size in most chain stores

No, that's not why. It's because of the wording. D isn't a cup size, it's the band size. The number is the size of the cups. It's really due to the fact that people say cup size as band size which makes people associate the band size with the size of the breasts when most times it's not actually the same.
I recently got resized from an A to B and people's reaction to it was to ask me if my boobs grew, even when I told them that I had been wearing the wrong band size the whole time. The cup size obviously changes with the band size but 38DD is going to have bigger breasts than 34DD.

I always felt US sizes were a bit wonky. My bra says 65E for euro's, 30E for US. However, 65 cm =/= 30 inch. 65 cm is roughly 25.5 inches, so were do the other 4.5 come from?

I think you're really, really confused about how band and cup size work. I kind of get what you're saying - that cup size fluctuates along with band size. But the "number" is definitely not the size of the cups. a 38A isn't going to have bigger boobs (in terms of actual large-ness, not cup) than a 36D. Cup size does ideally refer to the size of breast (difference between under/overbust average and full bust measurement). It just gets complicated because breasts don't occur on a flat plane, the the tissue is flexible, and as band size fluctuates so does the point on the body/bresat at which the cup "starts".

>> No.7144028

>>7144012
It is possible. US consumer frequently where much to high a band size. (5 inches wouldn't be unheard of). The brand you purchase from might just be trying to compensate for these accepted "mistakes" by altering their US size to reflect what people think they should be wearing (even if it's incorrect).

I'd seriously love someone to help but since I can't exactly post my boobs on this board and I doubt you live nearby, I'm not sure how to do it. I do the measuring exactly as every guide I've seen says. Measure underbust (its actually 37-38), bend over, measure bust (checking in mirror that its straight across back and not angled). I even measure again standing and its the same. As I said my boobs do not slope, they stick straight fuckin out and they're all triangular and freakish and I hate them. This. I spent a good chunk of my teens wearing awkwardly fitted B/C cups because that's what Sears and VS had tried to tell me I was. When I was finally fitted by a super legit specialty lingerie shop, I found out I had DDs with a teensy band size (once I finished "filling out" in my early 20s, I went up to DDD). I almost refused to believe it, but it was amazing how much better I felt as soon as I started wearing the right bras. All of my clothes looked better/less frumpy around the chest, my boobs didn't hurt, I could exercise again, my bras last longer, etc.

So. Girls. Find a nice specialty shop, or go to a high end department store like Nordstrom's. Please get fitted properly. Your breasts will thank you.

I used to think I was 80C (... I guess that's 36C?), went and got measured and boom, I was a 75DD. Nowadays after puberty's all gone, I have to get myself 75F/H (depends on the shape of the bra).

Without a bra, honestly, my boobs don't look that big, but I just can't fit a D or a DD on anymore and I always have to prove my point to my friends when we go shopping as they won't believe I use F/H. Sigh. And then they themselves refuse to get properly measured and fitted, although a couple of them obviously have the completely wrong set of bras.

But seriously, places that measure you over your shirt, gtfo, they have no idea what they are doing.

of course this is excluding like, super super high specialty places that have some little old woman who just LOOKS at you and knows your size, lol

it's simple:

get a measuring tape
measure around your ribcage, right under where your breasts connect to your chest (underbust)

this is your band size, and it should be a Snug fit of the tape

Next, you want to take several full bust measurements, where you pull the tape around the biggest part of your bust, try standing up and try bending over as well i fyou have meaty/saggy breasts. You can add these up and take the average for your full bust if needed.

The difference between these two numbers is your cup size. For example : you measure 28 underbust and 32 full bust, your bra size is a 28D. Every 1 inch of difference is a cup size additional. 1- A 2 - b 3 - C etc.

You want to make sure your measuring tape is parallel to the floor by the way, don't let it fall down your body as you measure because it'll give you a measurement too small.

Then you want to go to a place like Nordstrom's if you don't want to search out a specialty shop but stay away from VS, please, they teach an old and outdated measuring system which also means that their bras don't fit right either because of this, and they have cheap lace, like wtf, so happy I am a lolita and I know what good lace looks like now.

Btw I am in the UK so I dunno if bra sizes varies?

Underbust = 27 or 27.5in
Bust = 32in when I had the measuring tape not pushing the chest inwards. :P I did keep measuring at 31in which was completely comfortable.

The full bus tmeasurmenet should not be super tight. If your measurements are correct you are aa 27 or 28 (depending on how accurate your measurment was) D or DD cup. The UK sizes mostly just change because of cm and I think there's a cup size they don't use, like DDD or something, but that's it.

I wear a 30B with 27.5" underbust and 31.5" bust - sometimes with smaller ribcage measurements the +0 thing is actually too tight depending on how much fat vs bone is around your underbust. I actually can't breathe in a 28" band and get bruises from how tight the underwires are pulled against my chest and red marks where the band cuts in (yes, I did try going up a cup size to a 28D as well and that didn't help), so you'd be best to try a 30 band first if you think your ribcage is quite bony.

Wait wut? You have to bend over to measure bust size? That doesn't seem right. I thought you had to measure while standing up, wearing en nicely fitting bra. If I had to measure bending over my bust size would be 6 inches more since my tits are unfortunately rather floppy. A lot of guides I've seen lately advise bending over, because if you have the wring size bra it can make most of your boob squish off to the side or downward, or otherwise compress the boob to the wrong size. I have this problem. I'm fairly slim but broadly built (5'2" / 112 lbs but 84-69-80 and a D cup), and a lot of dresses give me boobloaf unless I wear a really tight sportsbra, which gives me sort of a uniboob anyhow. I'm jealous of everyone with dfc.

I was really suprised that there weren't pissy lacebook secrets as well. I'm a little miffed that I won't be able to get in for a while (fairly new to my very small comm/no lolita friends to invite me), but I'm nowhere near as buttflustered as some girls seem to be.

To keep your bands from stretching and make your bra last longer: never wear them two days in a row, wash every 3-ish wears and don't put it on backwards!!
