Going as Melisandre, friend as Jon Snow, and... coaxed my parents into getting in on the action as Olenna and Tywin. Parents have never been to a con before, let alone cosplayed; I expect I'm in for a shitshow.

For now, though, I need to sew and sew and sew and sew and not stop sewing until thursday.

He said he saw it on the second game's trailer and told me that the new guy pretty much takes the mask from the trash and puts it on. So he wanted the mask to look as if someone was killed in it.

I don't really have the time to get started on something like that with only a few days remaining. I'll probably just take the cheap route, rip off some areas of the mask and dable myself in fake blood on it.

The one thing I want to keep consistent about Jacket is making the cosplay look weary and beaten. I just hope my jacket arrives soon so I can get to work on that as well

Well I wanted to do a guts cosplay too so I made a dragon slayer sword (pvc foam) and we had a few other larp weapons so we fought and the dragon slayer was a bit too bit and heavy.

I'm still going but only Sunday this was awhile ago so I didn't bother to finish my costume bummer we could have been amazing pillar men... at least the dragon slayer came out as 8 feet of awesome

In previous years, you could walk into the building, and hang out in the atrium without a ticket. Not this year. There are parades of people in the street, especially toward the open (say, until 1pm). But there are fewer than were hanging out inside in previous years.

I'm surprised you actually post on here because there was a low amount of Jacket cosplays at the con, I saw a few Bikers and I'm going to dump some photos of me in the cosplay with them. I was thinking about getting all the Hotline Miami cosplayers I saw for some group shots but as soon as I took a pic with them they were gone.

You guys ready for all my lovely cosplays I caught (also read as the only ones I thought were cool/not Deadpool or SNK) and a little bit of con stories? No? Too bad, I'm posting anyway.

First up- She Hulk! She sat next to me in line for that GeekLove/SciFi Speed dating. I felt a little bad because of two reasons- 1. She was actually there to see if she could really find a nice guy to go out on a date with. I was just there for shits and giggles and to see what Speed Dating was like since I've never done it. And 2- The guys had to pay 15 bucks to sign up. Girls got in for free. So they were pretty serious about it too...
It was actually super fun. I got a huge list of guys that were interested. I feel bad cause I didn't call any of them back...ph well. It was all great. EXCEPT for that fucking host guy. That huge fattie? Yeah, what a ...shmuk. Seriously. I'll rant about him in another post if anyone's interested but...for Christ sake.

This poor Harely. She was CLEARLY very tired and trying to take a break on the floor, in the back, in the corner, but people just kept coming up to her to ask for a photo. She was so nice and kept getting up to pose. And I snagged this one while she was up, I wasn't going to ask her to get up myself. I told her those are some pretty awesome shoes. She said they hurt like hell.
What I really liked about the cosplays this year that with the exception of the FUCKING HUNDRED DEADPOOLS/SNK, anyone who did a "common" cosplay like Harely, or Joker, or the Halo Spartans, or whatever, I didn't see two of the same kind. Everyone had their own verison, so I was very pleased with the fact I only saw one classic TAS Harely. And the ones I did see put more effort into them rather just having a red sock and purple glove and lol I'm Harely!

This Shredder was neat. I've always loved the old school design. I actually had a guy approach me on the show floor while I was standing there and asked me if I was from /cgl/ or /co/. Then bammo, this guy turned out to be the most bro-tier guy I've met from this site. That's Wil.I.Am for Black Eyed Peas and I wanted to post a pic of him cause of the funny story behind it. Seems he and that other dude are coming out with a comic called "WAR" or Wizard vs Robot. And I was like...what does that guy know about making comics? So if you got inline to meet him, you got this sick ass huge poster. So I was like, fuck that guy, give me the cool robot poster. So I asked him what he did on it, and he was like, Yeah, I'm like making this comic. And the white next to him actually said that he was the artist/writer. And then I was thinking...ok, so what did Wil do? Besides give you a shit ton of money to make this thing? So whatever. That's not the funny part. The funny part, that like me, nobody really gave a shit that the singer guy was there and they also just wanted the free robot swag. It was when a little cute Daft Punk Guy cosplayer came into the room that everyone left the line, cheered for him, took a billion photos and a bunch of chicks went up to kiss his helmet and hug him. He was the cutest thing cause he was like only 5'2. I'm pretty sure Wil was like "fucking nerds...whatever, I'm still cool." His face man...priceless.

I'm mad that Ultimate Protagonist almost won. For those who didn't go, he was just some ass that had a Master Chief helmet on, in Assassin robes, with a Portal Gun and a Lightsaber. I'm sure there would have been SO MUCH SEAGULL RAGE among the other people, it would have been amazing. ALSO I thought it was HILARIOUS that they had a photo of what the character actually looks like on the screen, and then the fat dumpy person would come out after everyone was hyped to see it.

No music, no extra cheers, just some claps and then you could HEAR the fabric of their pants rubbing as they walked to the other side of the room when they were done. Yeah, sad, but I guess it's like, what's so great about it? After seeing them about...20 of them in all the three days, it's like, meh. Cool, you made a jacket with some straps. Not saying it's bad, it's just not impressive anymore. No matter amazing you sewed it, it's just always going to be "meh."
This dude was fucking nuts. His costume was metal-like, not cardboard, everything on him lit up, he didn't look bulky or disproportionate, he had a Lazerbeak on a pole, and a Ravage on his shoulder and the crowd pleaser was that when he turned around, he actually had his 2 year old daughter strapped to his back dressed up as Rumble. Cutest. Shit. Ever.
So he won of course.
Again, it was just too quite in that huge room. Someone yelled "Soundwave Superior" and then after everyone had a little laugh at it, it became awkward just standing there next to him cause it was like...yeeeeeeeeeeeah, he just kinda won everything right now. ...And then an original furry design won Best in show. And another person who didn't act out say or DO ANYTHING won Best in performance/in character fucking bullshit. AND icing on the cake, another super shitty original also won Best Craft and she was a hot mess of...just shiny shit everywhere.
What was going on with those judges? What was going on with the whole thing. It was cringe worthy.

So the girl (I'm guessing it was a girl by the look of her hips and how she acted) jumped around like a fucking idiot after everyone just stopped to stare at her being on stage. Everyone was one stage for a max of like...a minute of two to show off the costume. And the Raccoon had a neat fur head on with a moving jaw, so I can only guess that she couldn't hear or see very well that the crowd was just kinda rolling their eyes and laughing at her for being on stage too long.
I'm not surprised that the judges might have not known what they were, since it was supposed to be a comic convention and not an anime, a lot of those people just went on stage anyways. Whatever....
