But to me it sorta seems like a chord that'd be acceptable around Halloween. A legitimate lolita 'costume'. Not necessarily ita because it's put together well... but no way should you wear it to a meet.

It's usually co-ordered terribly (mismatched pinks/purples etc), although that might just be because the people who are into it are usually itas who can't co-ord properly in the first place.

Aside from that, it's just plain tacky. The colours tend to clash horribly and the accessories look cheap and plasticky, even more so than OTT sweet. Lolita is supposed to look elegant and or/cute, and wearing those hideous skeleton tights and putting eyeballs on everything is neither.

I don't think it generates hate just because it's on tumblr, but because it's hideous. Same with a lot of other 'lolita' trends on tumblr, like the deer antlers.

The red items look like an afterthought as the actual garments are all white. The colour distribution isn't well thought out. The white tights look quite cheap, it would be best to have some textured ones. And wristcuffs don't really work with the sleeves of the OP.

As for the second image, while the socks are textured, they look cheap (especially in that colour) and are too short for the dress. And the shoes are not elegant enough for the dress, the first pair works a lot better. Maybe you could replace the neck ribbon with a red velvet one and the ties for the shoes with the same? And have a red bag? That would mesh the two colours together a bit better. I like the look of the gauze/bandages with it, too.

F+F's dresses are ugly as shit imo, but I've heard good things about their coats, so I just ordered a qt faux-fur trimmed one. All the fancy bits are removable so I can use it as a day to day coat too. My boyfriend got a load of EGA stuff, he was so happy to find a place that did fancy stuff in his size, bless.
