My friend is making ours (she does beautiful embroidery by hand). What we've done in the past is just fray check all the edges of the embroidery like made, trim the fabric as close to the embroidery as you can, then, taking a thread color that's similar to the color of embroidery thread around the edge, either running stitch or whip stitch it down. As long as your not making huge sloppy stitches, it should be alright.

While your satin stitching looks clean and lovely, this makes larger areas much more fragile and likely to catch on things, pulling at the embroidery (unfortunately from personal experience). If you want a more secure area, break up each line into a running stitch all the way to the borders of each shape, this is also how embroidery machines work. When I do this by hand, I also lay out my stitches like bricks, so they are tiered rather than exactly right next to each other.

Your edges are also not the most tidy, so if you wanted a way to clean those up, it might help to sew around the border of each shape with less thread than you would normally use to fill it, and then if you didn't want the border to show, just extend your stitches to just past it. The border thread should then keep each past stitch uniform.

I'm not sure if my advice was very clear, but I'll be happy to try my best to help some more if you'd like! Best of luck!

If it came to that, I could see a character that did the bare minimum of what made them feel more comfortable, but ultimately looking really rough because they are in such an extreme situation.
Like, if there was a MTF in Attack on Titan, I could see her Mcguyvering some makeup or trying to grow her hair out or stuffing her shirt with some cloth. She wouldn't pass to save her life, but it's about survival and trying to feel better in spartan conditions. She would look rough as hell, but it would make sense.

I actually think this is really super interesting and would love to see that in the manga. Not like it's ever going to happen. But that's one of the things I love about AoT is how it deals with the psychology and humanity of war.

Either way, I personally like AUs. They're just fun little "what ifs" so people can further explore characters and character relationships in different situations (namely one where everyone is not going to die). Hey! I'm jacket anon from a few threads ago and I actually bought one of those 35$ jackets.I got it in the mail yesterday and I'll do a picture review when I can get my camera working but as far as I can tell, it's pretty good.

There are a little defects that I noticed like, the patches are a little higher up and smaller than in the picture, I have to take some seam scissors to some of the threads of the embroidery, the fabric is kind of satin and it gets really warm, the buttons aren't really buttons, just flaps and there's a little minor pucker under the collar but it's hidden nice enough to where it doesn't really show.

For the money you pay, it's good and they do a pretty good job at getting the measurements completely correct.

Again, I'll post pictures later today when I get my camera working and have slept a bit [been up with a cold, blech].

White Levi's 510/511/514 would be my first thought, a little too white off the shelf IMO though and the rivets are pretty ostentatious.
