If you're talking about the god tier Jade who was at Cos and Effect last year, I thought she was pretty good? I think she just had a terrible time sealing and ended up taking it off right after the Homestuck meet. I think it helped that she has really strong features so her face didn't fall flat with all that monotone.

That's probably because it looks nothing like Dirk's hair. Dirk's hair is full of animu spikes that are pretty much impossible to achieve unless you're wearing a wig. If you can't wear a wig for whatever reason, try spiking it as best you can but don't expect miracles.

i just happened to have them actually, and the reason theyre damaged is because i removed the bar! with really small wire cutters. where the bar would usually be you can see its slightly raised, so if you're planning on doing the same just be more careful than i was. i also had to paint over the silver marks it left.

I Don't have a picture ATM might post one later, but backwards and up. It took me a few times to get it right, but once i got hold of a good blowdryer it worked out great.
Though I STILL have problems with the hair falling downwards and back rather than sticking out and up. Especially outwards from the head.
I also used curlers to give the end to the hair on the sides a bit of a curl, making the styling easier which is something I really reccomend.

I'm not that anon, but pointing it out that it's tumblr makes sense. When you put it on tumblr, it lets so many more people see it. It's no longer just friends of friends making a group, anyone who is going to that con can join that group. By opening it to such a wider audience, the first come first serve people tend to be worst (usually 13y/o first cosplay babies). While if you did on say, Facebook, most semi-mature 17y/o+ cosplayers would be friends with semi-mature 17y/o+ cosplayers, and people who are more mature tend to have better costumes, so the only people who would even have the chance to join the group would be better cosplayers over all.

Also, actually being friends with the other cosplayers would make it easier to have matching horns/paint etc, and you could ask the other members for help with the cosplay construction.

It's not really fitted right but it's definitely very simple as far as plugsuits go. Has very few details. (Asukua's is definitely harder since you can't get a red base and it has so many parts compared to Rei's)
Also her clips look really clunky

Alternatively, her grimdark Rose is really gross in my opinion. Angle makes her butt look big, and grimdark should be purple not pink, and have a purple collar. Her sleeves look too long too.

Also personal preference, white wigs look better with the painted skin. Plus I hate side swept bangs on Rose cosplayers.
