Ladies of /cgl/ I have a question for you!

Do you ever had issues with cosplay because of your bust size; and what is your bust size?

Also post boob related tutorials

YES.

I can't ever ever ever cosplay busty characters.

Even with 2 bras and some serious boob magic, 34 As give me about a 1-inch gap between them in terms of cleavage. It's so depressing.

On the bright side, I can cosplay all the shota boys like a breeze, and younger characters are easy too. I can bind my chest to a perfectly shota-esque flatness with an ace wrap and no pain or difficulty breathing.

Feels good, man.

>> No.7114954

I used to be super flat chested which limited my number of characters. I could really only play young girls like Yotsuba and Chiyo, etc. I had (still have) the really young face and small height to match.

I started birth control maybe a year-ish ago and have since grown an average set of breasts. I'm a little upset because I had finally come to terms that I wouldn't be able to cosplay any super chesty characters. Since I have such a young face and I'm so small, I'd still look odd playing anyone extra busty. So I'm a little lost on if there's anyone that really fits my body type.

I wear 32A. Last I measured I should have maybe been a 30B, but I'm started to outgrow my 32A bras, so I really have no clue what I should be. Need to go get measured.
I've tried tutorials like OP's and I find the socks sort of painful with everything being pushed up already.

This. I wear a 28B and so don't have any problems fitting into brand dresses, but some styles still look odd on me. Anything empire-waisted makes me look pregnant and fully shirred bodices make me look like an unevenly-stuffed sausage. So naturally my boyfriend bought me an empire-waisted fully-shirred jsk for my birthday... It's super cute but my bust makes it look a bit vulgar, in a way.
Is there an easy way to bind B-cups down to <A-cups without bandages or one of those super wide sports bras? It's more of a sundress so I'd feel silly wearing some kind of harness underneath. Did you do the scoop and swoop while trying on the 30? You want to get the tissue above the wires, not under.

Chances are that if you've been wearing a 32-34 for a while and it's not your size, the breast tissues has migrated to underneath the wire. If you do the scoop and swoop while putting on the 30 band, that "leaking" tissue will move back into the cup, where it should be. This is what happened to me -- I was wearing a 32B from VS for a decade, and I went to a proper boutique and they told me I was a 30C. And it felt infinitely better. Over a year of wearing that, I grew into a 30D, because the tissues that had been going underneath the wires with the bad VS bras, had moved back into the boobs and were filling them out.

That bra helped me both straighten out my back (I upped my height by an inch) and helped me severely with tissue migration, so much that I outgrew it. I still use it though because it still helps with posture.

You'll have to use your EU size and order some custom polish bras sadly :/ That or getting your sister size in a 28 and ordering a rixie clip:
etsy.com/shop/RixieClip

For the polish bras that will make you a 26(55) band on request there is comexim.pl and
ewa-michalak.pl

Most women with 26 bands usually go for the 28 band and the rixie clip to start out and then when they are more secure in their size and what fits them they custom order one of the polish bras. My braologie bra has a 26 band as well and I would wear them but I am in between 26 and 28 so I just stick to 28 for simplicity.

A few months of lifting heavy bags up and down for two hours a week made my arms trim and muscular. Even doing just 10 sit ups a day tones your stomach.

Start with a 28. Often people with smaller ribcages have to add 2" to their ribcage measurement (blasphemy, I know, to all those people who dogmatically insist not to add anything) as there's sometimes more bone and less fat to squish. Sizing websites are just a starting point - what actually matter is that it fits.

If you're happy with your 70B you don't have to change it. Try a 65C, 65D and see how you like it. Sometimes when you go down the band size the cup size goes up by more than you'd expect because the band is closer fitting so your boobs are more...pulled in the cup if that makes sense? I'm a 32C/D (probably closer to a 32B/C when this picture was taken). This was just a padded bra + socks. My nipples were dangerously close to being out in the open, and I could have benefited from some contouring, but making cleavage is pretty simple.

I also gave my barely-A cup sister some C-looking cleavage once with the adhesive bra method, but she would kill me if I posted pics.

You could round up or down for band size, so that'd put you at a 30 or 32 whatever's comfortable. A 6" difference between underbust and bust should be an E or DDD cup in U.S. sizing.
If the 32 D's seem too big, either the band is too large, or you're experiencing the "Orange in a class" issue, which is basically when the bra looks too big but is actually too small because the wires are too narrow (you can read a more detailed explanation of this here: http://www.reddit.com/r/ABraThatFits/comments/15skno/the_bras_in_my_supposed_size_fit_weird_and_im_not/c7phuxw))
You might actually be able to find some 32 DDD's in stores, might be worth trying on, although it sounds like you're more suited to a 30 band.

I actually was fitted at a Nordstroms(completely topless instead of over the clothing like Victoria Secrets). She used the three measurement method instead of the two measurement method. Apparently it's commonly used as well. But of course it's not always right either since bras can be sized differently like all our other damn clothing. It worked either way because now all my bras actually fit since I know what to look for.

My mom actually taught me that the number was the bust measurement(Mom ain't always right kids). I think you and I are the same size, I'm a UK 28G and US 28I. I've NEVER used my US size to buy bras.. and I have A LOT of bras.

Well as I think I stated before in this thread, every company I've ever ordered from has a great return policy. I pay the 5-ish dollars for return shipping and get the full cost of the bra back if it didn't fit. Well are you putting on your bra correctly? Plus the shape might be wrong. Also it is easy for it to appear the wrong size if you are wearing a too big band.

When you put on a bra you should TRY to put it on the right way, closing the snaps behind your back, it requires some practice but isn't too hard.

Your underwire should sit right on your inframammary fold aka the fold underneath your breast. Don't put your straps on just yet, they should be at the loosest setting.

When your cups are in place, put your straps on but don't tighten them (unless they are just falling all over the place)

Now bend over and pull the tissue from UNDERNEATH the band forward into the cup. The more forceful you are the better, it will help your tissue migrate back to your breasts.

Next, still bending over, pull the tissue from your armpits down into your cup.

Now stand back up, tighten the straps so that they don't fall off, it should not however cause you any discomfort.

At this point you can look at the fit of the bra,
again gore should be flat against your sternum, there should be no escaping tissue from any direction of the cup (above, side, underneath) any of these are a sign of a too small cup.

Hope that helps someone. And remember to do this EVERY time you put on a bra. It's basically how to get your boobs to their fullest and avoid back and armpit fat.

I'm sure this has been mentioned already, but since I keep seeing people using that automatic calculator and shitting their pants, I'll give the basic method to measuring yourself out properly.

Measure your ribs/underbust, then measure your bust. Your underbust is your band size, or the number. For every inch of difference, go up one cup size.

So for example, if your ribs are 30", and your bust is 36", your cup size would be a 30F, give or take, depending on the bra and how full your breasts are.

With your rough measurement in mind, find a specialty bra store, AKA ones that carry weird fucking sizes. Don't go into La Senza or VS or any of that shit unless you actually ARE an "average" size.

Like I mentioned above, I would always get fitted in a shitty chain for a 34/36D or DD because that's the only bra they had would hold all my boob. I'm actually a 32G/H depending on the bra.

>> No.7123913

Yup, it's also good to measure leaning over (and then lying down if you really want too) because it helps bring your full breast tissue forward. Especially if you have pendulous breasts. If you don't you might end up in too small of a size.

>> No.7124710

Most "mainstream" bra stores think band sizes only come between 10 and 14, and cup A-DD. Cup is a ratio, not an absolute - so a 10A is smaller than a 14A, and usually as you go down band sizes you go up 1-2 cup sizes. Hence, a 28F (which is a 6F) is more like a 32C/10C, possibly smaller.

Yes. I don't kno what you mean by "equivalent" but you can usually go up a bandsize and down a cupsize and have things fit okay, so you could wear a 28F or and maybe a 30E.

>Can bigger breasts also be shallow?
Yes. Think of it like waist measurements, four people could all have the same measurement but look completely different due to height and proportions and all that. You can have technically large boobs and they may look small, or just have a two inch difference and have breasts that look giant. Every breast is different and will be shaped differently.

The volume of the cup size is roughly the same, HOWEVER the shape of the cups are different. If you are a 28F for example you could potentially wear a 30D or 32C, but they will not be the best fit.

>>7125466
The image you linked is talking about the *distribution* of the breast tissue--some people have "shallow" breasts, and others have full. Those with fuller-shaped breasts have more actual tissue in their breasts, even though they may stick out the same amount as someone with shallow breasts, and thusly will need a larger cup size.

So can someone have really small boobs but have them "full" and then they'll look bigger than the same cup/band size that has "shallow" or "medium"?

>> No.7125541

>>7125527
Hmm in a way...if you have "full" breasts they'll look rounder from the top, basically, so in that way you could say that they "look bigger".

The thing about shallow/medium/full breasts is that they can cause discrepancies b/t the measurement on the tape measure vs the actual cup size someone needs. For example, someone with shallow breasts and someone with full breasts could both measure at, say, 36" bust with 32" underbust, for sample. According to numbers alone, they would both be a 32D. *But* this may not be the case, since even though their breasts *stick out* 36", the girl with the full breasts has a higher volume of breast tissue in her breasts and may need a bigger cup size to avoid quadra-boob, and likewise the girl with the shallow breasts may not have enough on the tops of her breasts to fill out a full-coverage bra.

The cup size is relative to band size. Within the same band size, yes it's true that the bigger the cup size, the bigger the breast volume, but the cup size *means nothing without the band size*.

The reason people have the impression that A=always small and D=always big is because most stores only carry bras in bands of 34-40, and the larger band sizes often don't even have the A cups and the smaller band sizes don't have the D. If you go to a store with a bigger range, you can see that for example the cup size of a 34B bra is roughly the same volume as a 30D bra.

Cup size is not absolute. It's a huge misconception that it is.

An F cup is a different size for each band. The smaller the band, the smaller the volume of the cup. The larger the band, the larger the volume of the cup.

>> No.7126130

>>7125775
F cup doesn't mean automatically big breasts, and neither does C cup, D cup, etc. Again, cup size means nothing without also knowing the band size. The volume of cup sizes is RELATIVE to the band size.

I posted this photo of 28F breasts earlier:
>>7115347

Since band sizes below 32 are almost never carried in normal stores (and usually not in cup sizes larger than C), people only ever see the bras with band sizes of 34+ in C, D, F etc cup sizes, which gives the erroneous impression that those cup sizes = large breasts. A 28F breast is much smaller than a 36F.

To give a slightly grotesque example, say you were to cut off the breast tissue of a 36A, 34B, 32C, 30D, and 28F breast. They would be *roughly* the same volume.

Depends on your body shape. If you're shorter/have a small frame/short torso you're more likely to have close waist/underbust measurements. The reverse tends to be the case for women who are taller/have long torsos or larger frames.

Opaque blouses. :(

There are some JSKs out there that have buttons securing the back of the shoulder straps to the back of the bodice. These buttons can be removed, and re-sewn in a different location on the strap, to widen the arm holes. If helps if the piece has shirring, too.

Please use the sister sizing sparingly.

Yes, the volume may be close, but if you choose a 34 band when your rib cage is 30, the bra will have less clasp to your body, and your breast tissue is more likely to sink underneath the wire, causing tissue migration. VS has been abusing the sister sizing system for years, so that they can sell a bra to anybody who asks; their associates are trained to sell bras, not get your correct size. It maximizes profits for Vs if they just produce a limited number of sizes (nothing under a 32 band), and just cram everyone into them with the sister size system. This is why every other comment on this thread is "WTF I'm a bigger cup is that really true"

Very true. I got sized into a 32C (went into VS for lulz) knowing for a fact that I'm a 28 band.

Amusingly she sized me into a B cup at first which was *way* too small...I have a feeling she looked at me and thought "Asian? Must be small tits".

When I go to other websites, it says that the band is actually your underbust + 3 inches. Is that true? I measured myself and my size would be a 26G. I have a Victoria Secret's bra that is a 32B and the band is too tight and digs into my skin. I'm REALLY confused. I don't want to be spending like $50+ on a fucking bra. In the past I just go to Walmart or Ross and get a bra for $10.

http://www.figleaves.com/us/product/FFS-P6846/Fashion-Forms-Fashion-Forms-Backless-Strapless-Ultralight-Nu-Bra/?size=&colour=Nude
They are called "Nu bra" and they are self-edhesive? So you can only wear them once? Like what the fuck? I imagine the sticky part would stick to everything, similar to those cheap jelly/sticky toys you could get at arcades.

>> No.7127877

The adding 3-4" to your underbust size is an antiquated method from when textiles weren't as elastic as today. Your band should be your underbust, rounded to the nearest even number.

I don't see how you could possibly have an underbust of 23" yet be too tight in a 32 band bra. Are you sure you're measuring your underbust correctly?

>>7127611
The NuBra is adhesive, but you can wash the adhesive side with soap and water and let it dry and it will be sticky again. The adhesive is stronger than the jelly toys you're talking about.

So I've been using Nuvaring for like four months now and my wicked mood swings are finally under control, my cramps aren't anywhere near as crippling as they used to be, and my periods are a bit lighter too. Everything's fucking fantastic, except for one thing.
My B cups that I loved so much and though were perfect have now swelled to a large C cup. I'm still sitting at about 110 pounds and I haven't really gained weight anywhere else but my thighs (which doesn't really matter for lolita anyway)...but I'm terrified to try on some of my burando because I know I'm going to have boobloaf (if I can even get the zippers closed now). So here's my problem:

I've used the suggested measuring methods and calculators in this thread and they seem to put me somewhere around a (US) 32DD and a 34D. I went and tried some bras on recently and while the 34 band had the gore sitting in the right place, flush against my chest, the underwires seem too small/ill placed and the cups look hilariously oversized otherwise. My breasts are pretty 'shallow'/tight on my chest, so they don't really move much and they're a little wide set, so it's like, if I shift the bra to one side a bit, the underwire part sits fine on one breast, but I can't get both to sit comfortably in the underwires when the bra is centered. And then the volume of the D is way too huge, but the underwire's the correct size.

I was looking up some bra-making tutorials for a project and found this measuring method, which put me at like a B cup (I guess my back is pretty broad and makes up a lot of the 'bust' measure with the traditional method), so I'm kind of at a loss as to what sizes to even look at. I have a 36A that fits pretty nice in the front, but the band is too loose––do you guys think maybe shortening the back band and moving the straps a bit might be sensible?

I wouldn't worry so much about the cup increase. The cup size only tells us a ratio anyway, and not much about size. If you're at 110 lbs, you probably have a tiny ribcage -- which will make a single cup size increase, really not that big of an increase.

For reference, this is a 30D balconette bra.

What bra's do you guys recommend? All of the tissue is on the bottom, and they look like a solid A cup.

I did the measurement and it's telling me I'm a 30F.

I'm currently wearing a 34D; the cup fits pretty good and if I have my shoulders straight I have a super tiny itsy-bitys quad boob. When my shoulders are normal, I have spar fabric and empty space on top.

I can NEVER fill out a bra and a push up gives me, well, no push.

So I measured and used the tutorial on sizemapp. The results for it are 30D, but when I look up all the pics online of it, they just look too small for me cup wise. And the sister size for it is a 34b, which I have plenty of and get spillage out of the top of them all the time. Doesn't help that I've measured about 3 times and still get the same result, even had my mom measure for me.

You will never truly know unless you go and try a 30D on; you have nothing to lose.

When you try it on, make sure you do the swoop and scoop. If you prefer a loser band size, try a 32C.
