I'm so happy to see plus sized lolitas moving away from OTT sweet. Shirred AP might fit technically but it always rides up to mid thigh and is not flattering in any way. Paired with too many accessories and those tacky wigs and it just looked like a jumbo clown baby. Leave those looks to the very young and thin. The ladies in this thread look great!

The threshold for "plus size" is definitely lower in lolita fashion than it would be in mainstream terms. I think it's because lolita clothing often only comes in one size, and that size is usually small/medium by western standards.

It honestly depends. I don't really consider myself plus-sized anymore in regular fashion due to wearing size 8-10. But in Lolita, I have to stick to full back shirring or generous partial shirring. I'm at a 100 b / 83 w / 87 h. I look a little chubby, but but not especially large. Working on losing weight and I've lost a lot, but my weight loss goals would still put me in the low-end of plus size when it comes to Lolita.

I think a 91cm bust, 76cm waist and below is pretty much not plus sized as you can generally fit into just about anything. But there are always people that have smaller measurements but look chubby due to how their weight is distributed.

I used to be 98/85/97, and these were my resting measurements. i used to bloat on a dime, and it got so bad i refused to leave the house because i couldnt get my fucking blouses to button. i was crushed. nothing makes me feel fatter than this fashion, and yet I love it so much and just want to wear my dream outfits. In any case, the size doesn't even matter because it's only half of the equation. Your height is the other half of it.
A 6 foot tall size 14 is skinny, whereas a 5 foot tall size 14 would be plus size.

Very roughly the same measurements as her (including height, I see her out and about) and .. there is no way she is as small as she has claimed. I have a friend who gained a lot of weight after having a baby. She was used to being really skinny (but gradually put on weight over the last couple of years, the baby just made her gain a ton). So she was really shocked and almost offended when people labeled her as plus-size.

Whereas me, I almost feel bad labeling myself as plus size in Lolita because I wear size 8-10, L size shirts in most fashion, sometimes an XL if it runs small or shrinks. Coming from being a size 18 at my heaviest. But I guess I'm still labeled as such because I'm thicker and just overall large-busted and wide from the front despite not really being overweight anymore.

I'm plus sized as far as dress size goes. Though just barely. Some charts 14-16 some 12. But I wear size 8-10 jeans and size L shirts because outside of Lolita I don't wear anything tailored or super dressy, so I guess in that respect probably not.
