I would wear otks, since salopettes are pretty short. I feel weird baring all that leg, and the dramatic look of filling that canvas with cute socks would look great! (plus zettai ryouiki is cute)
I would wear a light peachy pink color, to bring out the pink in the bows on the dress, but maybe you should go with more of a blue-pink since that'd match your bag and your blouse.
Not exactly the same shade of pink, since I wouldn't want to outshine the blue in the dress, but a softer, lighter, more white pink.

What're you going to wear on your head, or are you wearing the hood up?

Replace the socks with lace or floral tights. Do you have any white shoes? Even a light brown would work. The shoes you have are overly sweet so id try to look for off brand ones instead

With the coord I'm planning on wearing white lace-like tights underneath the socks, a white chiffon 3/4 sleeve blouse, and pink and white wristcuffs. I think red blouse (the more formal the better), black tights and fancy red boots/pumps with decently high heels and red accessories would be the most passable thing for the red dress. I if you do what you said with the top half, that will make it look a lot better. That AatP cage JSK looked ita as fuck when I first saw it and people have made it work.

I can't picture the mint headbow and socks with the pink OP in any way that isn't disastrous. I would recommend ditching those and going with either brown, pink or ivory, depending on what flatters your skin colour more, or what you have more of in your closet.

You can still trade or sell the colours you don't want later, but for your event at end of this month, just don't mix the mint and pink.

If you want to do gothic with this, you're going to have to really nail the motifs and styling. Wear a less poofy petticoat, if any, and incorporate subtly creepy motifs. As far as incorporating cotton candy into it, my first thought would be getting a nice fluffy wig in a light color that will look nice on your skin tone. Incorporating ivory accents and wearing tights with a gentle, unobtrusive pattern might look nice. I would go easy on accessories, as having too many will weigh the aesthetic down.
I do agree that incorporating mint with this pink here might look funny with this print.

Here's what I came up with:

Hat: FanPlusFriend, $10
Necklace: 1928, $24
Bracelet: Forever 21, $5
Tights: Taobao, anywhere from $5 to $10
Bag: Clobba Online, $33

The shoes, clocking in at $90, are by far the most expensive part of the outfit, but these Fluevog knockoffs (via Modcloth) are less than half the price of the real deal. They'll also take you a long way if you're looking to build up a classic wardrobe.

The sad fact of the matter is that even the cheapest lolita outfit is going to be a lot more expensive than and outfit from, say, Forever 21. That said, there's certainly ways to avoid breaking the bank. Knowing a few DIY tricks will save you a lot of money on accessories and blouses in the long run. Shops like Claire's and Charming Charlie have lots of jewelry that would work great with classic lolita. Hope this helps!

Again, I wouldn't try too hard to fight the silhouette. Cinching it with a belt or fitted jacket could make it hang very awkwardly. A cropped cardigan or bolero will give the dress a little more shape, or you could try your hand at a sweet twist on mori girl!

>>7083365
You need glasses to see, wear your glasses. Only the extremely petty and the extremely rude would get on your case for wearing something that allows you to see, and why would you want their approval anyway?

If you can afford it, having a couple pairs to match the dominant neutrals or accents in your wardrobe will give you lots of options. I wear specs myself, and I have two frames - one coppery brown to match my hair and act as a neutral, and one black as a statement. If you lean toward sweet, pastel-hued frames will coordinate well with your wardrobe. Tortoiseshell is a timeless look great for classic outfits and blends well with natural hair colors. Wire-framed glasses in the same metal that dominates your jewelry collection will always look put-together.

If you're looking for inspiration, Cadney is a popular sweet lolita who works her glasses into almost all her outfits.

Here you go, from the GLB, Volume 47.

The picture has the hipster black glasses going on, but thin, rounded metal frames can also work (they just feel more closer to Victorian fashion, in my opinion).

It's preferable that the color of the frames match or at least blend in with the coord's color scheme. Lolita is a fashion in which matchy-matchiness is of utmost importance.

The frames alone will obscure your eyes just a tiny bit, but this may actually give you more room to be liberal with eye shadow. Check out youtube tutorials on applying makeup for people intending to wear glasses. If you are near-sighted, your eyes will look smaller to other people because of the way the light curves, so makeup techniques on making the eyes look bigger and more doll-like will be all the more important.

Also, use THICKENING, not lengthening, mascara. There's no point in lengthening mascara if it just ends up on your glasses.

My personal recommendation is thickening mascara with middle-of-the-road-dramatic eyeshadow OR striking eyeliner, not both.

Random collage!

Oh my god, I hope I can look half as cute as that.

Another small issue is.. well, I don't have natural eyelashes. So I'm stuck with only using falsies, which are a bitch to put on with no reference point.

I've got frames similar to those actually, they're a bit more rectangular and they're all black. Like the pic, but the arms are wire, not plastic. I

I was also a performer for 7+ years, so makeup ain't no thang.

Hey coordanon! I need some help with this dress. I just ordered Musee du Chocolat JSK in the ivory colorway but I'm pretty stuck on what I can do to make this a classic/sweet blend. I really want to use flowers, flower crowns, and/or crystals but I'd like some more ideas to bring browns into the outfit. I don't really want to toss random chocolate-bars into it as hairpins or whatever either.

I'm really nervous since this is my first piece from a sweet brand, so I hope it's not too hard.

Just got a new job; professional dress is a requirement, not professional as in a power suit; but a nice skirt; blouse and a belt with oxfords would be fine.

Anyone got any super toned down co-ords that they think would work?

This is my rule of thumb for wearing alt fashions to work/weddings/non-alt functions: you can get away with one (MAYBE two) items that are identifiably alternative (lolita in this case), and everything else needs to be pared-down and occasion-appropriate. For example, if you want to wear a blouse with a huge peter pan collar and a floppy bow, pair it with a smart pencil skirt. If you're in the mood for a twirly, frilly skirt, stick to a simple blouse. Minimal hair accessories are best, I would never wear a head-eating bow or a mini-hat. Biggest piece of advice: ALWAYS wear sensible shoes to work. Your shoes say a lot about what you expect to be doing all day.

Sophistique Noir has a couple articles on wearing goth fashion to work or special occasions (look under tutorials, or search "wedding"). Lots of good advice there. I have a couple more collages in mind, I'll post them as I finish them!

>> No.7090009

I don't think the last middle 2 are work appropriate
1.maybe with black tights instead, but it looks waiter'y'
2.too much with the print, and looks a bit childish in a way that you could get away with on your own time, but not at most work places

One more bit of advice: think about the overall message your outfit communicates. Does it say "I'm here to work hard and look polished and professional while I do it" or does it say "I'm here to look pretty"? If the latter, then scrap it and try something else.

I have another question for this. Would it look odd if I wore pink and purple flowers in my hair for this? I think it could work but I would just need to get the right shades. I was thinking like, magenta and violet.

Are you under the measurements enough? I'm a DD and 100cm so there's plenty of room in mine, but I get that uniboob effect. I moved the button down on the straps a bit further. I also wear a good sports bra and a corset. It fixes the problem pretty well. But it still can be really short on me if I wear my uber poofy petticoats.

A lot of Baby boleros can fit bigger sizes pretty well. I had one that would easily go up to 110cm. But it looked kind of wonky with this Jsk because of all the bows. I think cardigans work better.

That is not going to work in any sort of classic coord.
