SJ thread #2

>> No.7052297

>shitty panels
Every panel I went to was the bomb-diggity... except for the Disney Meetup, because I ran it and I'm a failure.

>Sifu Kisu's Demonstration Panels
Awesome. Dude was a serious fanboy and as much of a womanizer as I was expecting.

>Scott McNeil Q&A
Awesome. Love this man and loved him calling me beautiful when I left.

>Guest Improv Panel
Goofy as always

>Feather Fanfiction
Despite running stupid late, was sexy as hell.

>Creepypasta Storytime
Only went to see my friend get freaked out, and was satisfied.

I enjoyed taking my friends downtown to all the bars and places I go to on a regular basis that they don't get to see all the time. That was nice. I missed out on a lot of people that I knew were there or that didn't come but that just lead the con to be more about local than the con friends. We made all the parents happy because blues brothers always makes the dads happy. Coincidentally the rather shitty karaoke room had 1 blues brothers song. Had a blast being the most energetic group to go up. Fucking everyone else was a faggot singing nickleback. I couldn't stop laughing.

I was really hoping to get Scott McNeil's autograph on Friday but the line was terrible (like they were already lining up 2 hours before his session) and my friends didn't want to put up with waiting for me so I gave up on the idea. I was pretty disappointed. Then later we were sitting at the tables in the AA and lo-and-behold: Scott came up to our group to tell us he liked our costumes, I nearly died of happiness right there. He was super nice too and I got to chat with him for a bit. Made the con for me.

Yeah. It's the reason they are losing quality panelists. Personal bias has been a major issue. If Jay doesn't like you, you don't get panels. So with this crowed getting a little rambunctious, a lack of sound to be heard all the way forced into the back, and with no Seb in sight our chants grew louder until the local task force of power tripping old women came to harass us about harassing others.
We simply wanted to see Seb.
So we continued on. With a growing number of people and decibels. We cheered at the sight of our beloved Based Seb. Many were confused and attempting to stay in character, their disgruntled lack of attention being fed to them was obvious. And the bitter sweet disappointment on their faces was nothing but pure joy for the cult of Seb.

Lawl butt-mad

But really though are her panels worth anything though? Some like the Ace Attorney stuff seem kind of cool, interactive almost dinner theater kind of stuff. I most hear people bitch about the horrible ship pushing, unnecessary constant yaoi shit.
As for her she just seems kinda weird and childish, maybe a little stuck up, but nothing worth freaking over. Some people have said she is a passive aggressive elitist who can't back her shit up.

I have been referring to tag #1 for the entirety of these posts. When I first addressed you we were talking about about panels, so I continued in that vein, you mistook that for me thinking I was reading your post for smoker and reacting to it.
It is you who have no comprehension of what is going on. You're Seb aren't you.

He and his girlfriend/fiancee/wife/whatever are huge hypocrites and made a huge stink on the San Japan forums last year. And the year before that, and the year before that, and the year before that. They are never satisfied with anything that is offered but never volunteer to help or improve the situation. Seb himself bitched to no end about panels and programming one year and then later admitted he wasn't even at the con.

I was pretty impressed this year.
My favorite part was when one of the gogos was doing barrel rolls on the stage and she dislocated her knee.

How did y'all like the rave? We tried to find a nice musical balance, which is hard when you have people walking on stage demanding...
>"Play some Twerking Music"
>"Play some more trance again, I hate electro"

Other than that, cosplay was painfully mediocre this year including my own.

This probably isn't the best thread to ask this in but it's kind of related. How does Anime Matsuri compare to San Japan? If I HAD to choose between either going to one or the other, which one would be the better choice? Never been to Matsuri so I'm wondering if the trip would be worth it.

they are very comparable. AM offers a bit more variety in programming. If you have any interest in jfashion or music from Japan pick am. If you want more programming from the community and interweb type of guests go to san Japan. If you go to cons just to party or just to cosplay they are pretty evenly matched, though I would say am has a better history of bringing out cool cosplay guests.

>> No.7063359

>>7062746

That's like saying San Japan actually tries to get different cosplay guests. They've more or less invited the same groups year after year.
