The panels were very blah or stagnant, the rave was 'ok', not great. The masquerade used bad music and they really need to figure how to decorate if they're even going to bother.
There wasn't any good cosplay that I saw in the halls and I went to the cosplay show too and it was very blah. Half-time show sucked hard core.
Dealers hall was the same old crap as always. The only good thing I can say is that I bumped into Scott McNeil in the hall and he was awesome. Artist Alley was pretty good and most of the merchandise was interesting this year but those two last parts are really best there was for the con.

It just seemed very watered down and boring in general.

There was a new group running the masquerade this year from what I was told.

The karaoke contest was bad. Auditions were pointless and rules were thrown out in finals. I didn't want to listen to the judge talk about herself as much as she did. It was really annoying.

The con was awesome. I had a bunch of panels I originally wanted to go to, but after spending five hours running panels and not sleeping all week, I sort of just didn't give a shit and was lazy with my friends. All my panels were above capacity and went over well, so I'm delighted overall. Staff was fabulous and helpful, attendees weren't being idiots.

Just got home. Woohoo. I had fun but most of the panels were lame.

I didnt make the checkin, but thought it was alot more fair with prejudging than the last few years were.

I thought the contest show went bad. The screen was hard to see. In the back It was so fracking cold in that room. I had to walk in and out so many times I missed alot of it.

Rave needed better music. I liked it but the music was weak. Saturdays was better than fridays. Not like it was much better.

Oh and random staff in the blue army costume, I dropped my roll of cash in the dealers room and walked off friday like a derp, thank you so much for chasing me down and returning it. You deserve a a million hugs and a reward. :3

not back home yet, but still had a good time. This is only my second year so i can't really say if it was good or bad as i don't have a whole lot of depth with these things, but i do agree that there was some planning issues. There were several notable instances where the people that were supposed to be running the panels just didn't show up, and other times where they put panels that had 200 people lined up to enter in some of the smallest rooms in the area.

Peaked into the Rave, it looked super fucking akward. Also thanks to that guy who had the music box i was hearing song of storms in my head all weekend.

I was the guy with the real shit laughing man costume, that was assembled with my inkjet printer 3am that morning, so don't judge me. I had another costume but the 3D printer i was going to use to finalize some of the parts broke. It was pretty successful though, so maybe next year i'll figure out how to make it spin and actually wear the right jacket.

I don't really know what it was but this San Jaoan seemed really boring. The panels, the cosplay, the dealers hall and the dances. It was all so bland.

1) Just as women have "unrealistic" depictions of themselves in media, so do males. We have the media telling us certain things are bad, while others are good. The media tells us that men have to last a long time in bed. This is not always the case. We're told that bigger is better. Once again, not always the case. We have these "perfect" males. Males who do the impossible for their women. Twilight, Maid-sama, and Special A are examples I used for my girlfriend Saturday. In romantic comedies, who have a husband and wife, and the wife makes a mistake (read: cheats on her husband) and the husband is seen as the bad guy. Crazy Stupid Love and Wanderlust are my examples. In primetime comedies, men are seen as horny idiots. On the other side, women are seen as prude bitches, but you asked for male issues and that's one of them. Long story short, actual feminism truly does want to level the playing field. Men can be the one to stay at home with the kids so that the woman pursue her career, women should not always be portrayed as the brilliant chefs while the husband is a bumbling oaf in the kitchen, and so on. But the reason it's called feminism is because it was originally started to help and protect women in a largely male dominated world (that was and still is very dangerous for women). Now that some equalities are finally being achieved however, it's branching out to help the men too in the ways I have mentioned. I think the presenter was ill informed.
