I'm planning to go as Little Red Riding Hood. I don't intend to make it a slutty version or anything like that, but the costume is surprisingly hard to nail. I mean, what else is really that distinctive about what she's wearing apart from her long red cape?

I do need to buy a petti for the costume though and I've never bought/worn one before. Any ideas where to get a good quality one and whether Bodylines are decent?

My husband works for a video game company so we showed up as Crono and Lucca for their Halloween costume contest and there were a ton of great entries of varying levels of skill. But then the normalfag emcee picked the Walter White with a bad of clear blue beads. I would have given it to the giant Doritos Locos Taco in a Giants jersey.

This person could have definitely done better with this costume. I have the same one and one of my leg avenue petticoats fit under it just fine with no issue. Petticoats look tacky and stupid when they stick out willy nilly like that. No imagination with the boots and nignog earrings either. Ironically, this was the first time I ever tried using a pattern, which makes it a hell of a lot easier to explain. The bottom is 2 circle skirts, the longer blue one, and the shorter white one. The top is a pattern, that I bought from Walmart of all places. Simplicity 1693 Pattern D. You have to modify it a bit, added some princess seams, you have to draft the white section, and I have a long invisible zipper running down the back.

Bah, I don't, actually.They were all on my old phone. I did her nurse outfit, since I figured it'd be the most recognizable (learning the whistle helped), and it's actually a pretty accurate 1960's nurse's dress.
I bought mine from a great little shop on ebay that sold vintage nurse dresses. It took a few minor alterations, but it was a nice, simple costume to do.
Mia wallace was much more recognized in the end, but i think it was just that the two costumes boiled down to "a nurse with an eyepatch" vs "a girl with an adrenaline needle sticking out of her chest with blood pouring out of her nose"

yeah, these guys have semi-frequent sales that range between $8 and $15 (usually more like 12 per outfit plus s & h)
i picked up a michael jackson bandleader prince shirt in both of the colors they had, and it's official stuff, so the quality on those is pro grade;
the only one's from that order i was less than thrilled with were the green hornet normal & deluxe outfits, for being official merch, they were shoddily constructed...
all the other ones i ended up with for myself (vega/claw, cobra commander) or the bros (axe cop, V for vendetta lady) seemed to be pretty well made and have withstood some use...
oh, and they throw certificates your way if you get on their mailing list, & you'll always know when they're having a sale...

I'm planning on being a mad scientist/Frankenstein's Monster combo for a zombie walk I'm attending, but I have no idea how I can make it more interesting. I have this one idea where I want to make it seem like there are wires going through various parts of my arms and face, like the skin in that part has worn away to show some circuitry, but I don't know how I could make the fake skin.
Most of my ideas would probably involve latex appliances, and I'm horribly allergic to latex. May I have some suggestions on how to make good, gory makeup without latex?
