I went to the storytime event in the new fantasyland and I have to say that if you make the yellow gown like the one they have for her it will not be boring even if it is overdone.

Can't recall ever seeing this dress done for a cosplay. An alternative idea would be the dress after her stepsisters have torn it apart, but that would probably work better if you had a group with the step sisters and step mother.

Does it make me a bad person in that I don't think Merida's design/drawing for the coronation group up was some sort of betrayal? All the previous princesses have drawings of various states of glitteryness depending on the illustration. The short hair version is nice to do when you don't want to mess with the long blonde hair. It makes me sad there's so little merchandise of the brown haired version. It'd be nice if Mattel brought out a magical hair version of Rapunzel. Like the old barbie dolls. You clip on a long clip to make her long blonde hair, and you can color change the short hair from blonde to brown with water.

I was dumb enough not to buy an Ariel doll when they were in my local store because I was short on the cash and too embarrassed to ask my mom to do me a solid. I completely regret it because now Ariel runs from anywhere from $100-$800 on ebay.

My boyfriend was kind enough to buy me Snow White for Christmas, though. I ended up buying the Evil Queen the following year first day since my local Disney Store had some left over. Passing on the couple designs because their faces look cheap, especially the faces of the princes. People did complain about Mulan's redesign, though... in fact people complained so much that *it got altered*! The original Mulan re-design had practically matchmaker white make-up and a gold dress. The new one has colors which are reminiscent of the clothes she wears in the film and her skin is darker.

And I should point out that people still complained and as of right now, this is the "new Mulan" graphic being used on Disney merchandise.

I've always held a bit of guilt. I went to a convention with my 5-year-old brother and he wanted more than anything to get a picture with Princess Peach. We looked all convention for one. Finally at the end of the day I saw this huge pink princess dress moving away. "Princess!" I called, she turned around immediately, and before I could process, I said, "Princess Peach!"

I was looking at a list of appropriate names from the time period and OMG there were much better choices then Tiana.

I for one was hooked on Evangeline.
Sure the name got used elsewhere but it sounded really royal to me. Madeline is also a great name they could have chosen.

Well she was originally gonna be calld Madeline, but people were outraged, apparently her nickname would be Maddy and would sound too much like a Gone With The Wind era slave name. I'm not exaggerating, thats what the claim was, that Maddy was a slave's name.

Its not that Tiana isn't a pretty or princessy name really, cus it is. Its just so....modern. Like, I could totally see a cute cartoon series about modern princesses or something where one is named Tiana, but something that took place nearly 100 years ago, in Orleans? It has to have that French influence.
