Petticoat thread?

I'm personally looking for a smaller petti to improve my poof. I wear pic related, but it just isnt enough to me.

What combinations or solo pettis do you wear? Post photos, photos, photos!

Storage methods? We've all heard about the "hang upside down" method, but is there really some truth behind putting it in a small box for more poof?

>> No.7044138

I tuck my pettis in a laundry basket underneath all my lolita.

When I feel like my pettis are getting flat, I hand wash them and hang them to dry. Sometimes I'll put them in the drier on low when they're just about dry.

One's a malco modes chiffon, and the other was a hacked up thrift find. I've had them for about 8 years or so, and they're still in pretty good condition using this method. Sometimes when I want some extra poof, I lay my organza flat on the floor and spray it with spray starch. it gives it a bit of oomph during that wear.

I guess it really boils down to the quality and type of fabric the petticoat is made out of.

I own a bell and an a-line classical puppets petti. For AP I put on the bell shaped petti and then slip on the a-line beneath it. Its pretty crazy poof, but I like it for sweet. Baby can sometimes look nice with just the bell shaped one, but AP just looks sad and deflated without it.

I know it's not the popular choice but is there a place to get a short hoop skirt? A mini crinoline if you will.

Anyone have experience with that victoriangirldress company on ebay? All I've heard is they're small (because they're childrens') but that's not an issue for me.

they're pretty good. super poofy and not too scratchy. It is an A line though. Idk how people are getting bell shaped out of this but it is definitely A line.

before taobao came around people would pin the top layer of chiffon up to create a bell shaped. It doesn't look good and now would probably stand out.

I know I've already posted about it in the sell/buy thread, but I'm looking for a black a line petti that I can wear under moitie dresses. I've made an order with qutieland for a CP daily a line but I fear it wont arrive in time. I need it before November 9.

I've been wondering if its worth speding the money in a brand petti.
I consider myself kind of a brand whore and ven though my Classical Puppet petties are ok I'd like to know other girl's experiences with brand petties.
Specially interested in pic related

That petti is gorgeous. Only 2 girls in my comm have brand petticoats and both swear by them. One is from BABY and the other Meta. Both always look flawless. The girl with the Meta has worn it for 4 years and it is still perfectly poofy
Sorry I can't help with AP.

>> No.7044905

My go-to is a cheap bodyline petti underneath the ones kirakirajenjen used to sell. The Bodyline one doesn't have a lot of poof but for some reason it really helps fill out the shape.

I also have a couple of leg avenue ones that I have to roll up the waist band for, but they work okay for the few times I wear a-line.

CP+IW looks awesome. I wonder if CP+AP light would look good. I own a baby doll dress that isn't an A line, but isn't a "true" bell, it's more like a soft gentlb sloping bell.

>> No.7045024

I've never liked being so poofy that I'd knock people down, so I just stick with my leg avenue pettis. Just enough poof for my tastes, but then I do mostly classic, where I don't think looking like a HUGE cupcake is as important as it is in Sweet...

I just bought a tea length dress and need a petti that isn't super poofy but it more like an underskirt. I'm tempted to just sew my own since I have some spare fabric but are there any other options that I can buy?

I own two of AP's Organdy Pettis, one in white and one in pink. The two layered together gives an ridiculous amount of poof, and is literally a giant bell.

Even when I wear just one of them, I think it's still quite a bit poofier than my friend's Classical Puppets.

You could throw it in the wash in a delicates bag, hang it upside down and spray starch on it, although it's probably better to get a new one. Deflated pettis have their uses too!

I'm always so envious of you (or this girl if you're not her)'s wardrobe.

Also, I don't have pics, but I have a CP bell and find it's perfectly fine for most of my pieces. When I want to go OTT or have the perfect AP look, either tuck an a-line petti under (as in pics posted above) or wear my stupid little BL petti on top of it.

So apparently you can buy malco modes directly from them without going through a dealer now, and I spotted this petti:

I tried looking up reviews on it, but it must be a new model because I cant find any info on it

Just read through the rest of the thread. Seems like they definitely changed their stock judged on everyone's replies. I got mine about 3 years ago so maybe they stopped stocking the good ones. I would prefer an A line one as I'm a gothic lolita and this one's poof is hugeee but I do like the material of it a lot.

My friend is looking for a petticoat to wear beneath her (I believe knee length?) wedding dress.
I don't think she wants the full on poof, just to make the dress a bit fuller. Something available in the US that's nicer than party city, but I doubt she wants *~*burando*~* or anything

I own this petticoat and it's great, really full and stays poofy, but I can't for the life of me tell if it's supposed to be bell-shaped or A-line. Maybe it's because I'm still just starting out with lolita, but even some other people I asked weren't sure. I've tried it under both skirts and JSKs and it almost feels like it could be both depending on how high or low I slide it on my hips. But what do you guys think?
