I met an awesome Rosalind Lutece on friday, who then went as Robert Lutece on Saturday. She was really cool to talk to. She was super understanding about my songbird suit as well. Since I couldn't move very well once I was set in. If anybody has any pics of the Bioshock shoot I would love them posted please.

Finally dumped all my footage and videos of the convention into my PC and already uploaded the soapy bubbles incident on YouTube.

I have over 1500 photos and will take my days to even post the videos a few at a time.

Did anyone else see the girl dressed as some Homestuck thing on Saturday that acted weird?

She had grey paint, wearing some red thing with a wire corset, and horns.
I want to know about other weird encounters with her.
She grabbed my necklace and dress without asking and she also was calling out rhetorical answers during the Lolita 102 panel, and as her question at the end of the Q & A she went up to the panelists and put the bottom of her dress on the table and said "Is this lace okay? It's from my mom's house."

She also told me my tights were ugly and didn't go with my coord. I'm still appalled she grabbed my necklace, which is a freaking family heirloom.

I'm actually pretty ok with it being there, I think that with Otakon continually growing the next three years will wear out the BCC, much as I love it. Plus it's a lot more centrally located to get to the great photo spots in DC than AUSA's current location. Makes it easier for me to get to, since I have to drive into Baltimore but I can just get a dropoff at a station to get into DC.

Got to make sure we enjoy Baltimore while we're there, though.

As someone who lives right across the Potomac from DC.

Yes. Yes it is. Especially the area around the convention center. Locals can park (there are over 3000 parking spaces in a three block radius of it) or commute via Metro and avoid the shadier parts of town, and by the time Otakon moves there, there will be plenty of hotels near the convention center to accommodate Otakon, not to mention the Metro stop nearby means you just hop on and get off at the stop closest to your hotel if you aren't nearby for some reason.

The literal worst part of DC is driving through it, but if you have a GPS you're good.

I agree it would be nice to be able to take the metro to the con, however that was not the point im trying to make. On the scale of both violent crime and theft DC has a worse rate then Baltimore. More so with theft in the tourist areas , due to the much higher rates of tourist traffic. On the note of secuirty, The DC police are openly stateing how they feel they are understaffed and S.S. will not react or respond to any threat that is not a threat to them or their target. I feel that it is possible to do it in DC, however i for one wont be leaving the con to walk around and will have to watch more for pickpockets.

The Super Sentai photoshoot is the one thing I always try to go to, even though I've stopped cosplaying and I'm not as into tokusatsu as I used to be. The turnout was insane this year.

On the topic of meetups, I thought that I would go to the /cgl/ meetup on Saturday night but my group ended up taking forever to suit up for the rave so I missed the window. If any of you are also going to Anime Boston 2014 I'll try to make that meetup since I live 20 minutes away.

I might try cosplaying again since being invisible at a con sucks. I might just bite the bullet and buy/make a NERV uniform and/or dig up my Quantum Ranger costume for next year.

The only staffers I thought were being shits were the ones who told me "you don't look disabled enough" when I tried to use the Pratt Street lobby escalator. Otherwise they were pretty nice and understanding, thought since I didn't lose my badge this year I didn't have to deal with the rude shits who were doing refunds last year.

I did attended the Asperger's and Fandom panel which was surprisingly mature for a panel because it was actually a bit of a life story of the panelist. One of the big highlights of Otakon was the one shot revival of Mystery Anime Theater 3000, featuring a movie that I've actually seen before.

I mean, I personally think Star Tits is a really ugly design, and it's hard to make it look flattering on most girls. The really low-cut legging things and the literal star tits don't really translate well irl. I've seen only a few cosplayers attempt it, and usually they do a pretty decent job, because that is not a costume you can half-ass.
Most girls do jalibait because it's easy. You can pretty much buy everything for the costume if you decide to go that route, while the rest of Yoko's costumes require more effort, whether it's a unique jacket for Timeskip or making the entirety of Yomako's outfit (and as someone who cosplays Satella, I can tell you that outfit is not easy for an average cosplayer). I personally did Jailbait because my Nia wanted to do pre-Timeskip, and that's the only outfit Yoko has. It's also a pretty damn cute outfit despite all the skin showing. That's just my two cents though.
