I'm in West Texas, about two hours from any town with a comm. I know one other cosplayer/lolita here and she's both adorable and perfect, but eve with just the two of us I'd be worried wearing lolita in public because people here really react poorly to anything even mildly alternative. I wouldn't be surprised if we got food/drinks dumped on us if we went out somewhere wearing out frills, to be honest. Not to mention, there aren't a ton nice places we could go for photoshoots either...it all just sucks.

Also, sometimes I wish my fiance was more interested in lolita. It's just really not his cup of tea and it's hard to justify even tiny expenses to him, even though he's always trying to encourage me to improve my self image and build confidence and lolita has been helping me make leaps and bounds in that department even though my wardrobe is still small. He just doesn't put the two together and it makes me sad sometimes.

I've actually gained a few pounds on my new birth control but none of it went to my face, hahaha. It never does. And I had long hair for about 10 years, it was such a pain to maintain though and I don't regret chopping it off because it's so much faster to get ready in the morning...not to mention, it's much cooler in the 110+ degree weather lol. Like I said upthread, I actually get more compliments on my short hair than I ever did with long hair.

Hello Aussie anon, I am also an Australia, and a lolita.

If you'd like to meet lolitas and perhaps even have a cute lolita gf, you should start by looking to see if anyone at your uni or tafe (if you go to university or tafe) is a lolita. Quite a few lolitas in the major cities wear lolita to uni, other than that I guess online would be the next best option.

Seriously I'd take the tallness over the boobs. The dresses are already short due to my height then the bodice is filled with nothing but boob. I'm one of those people who loses weight last from the bust. My waist, hips, stomach, thighs, and face will loose fat but those fucking udders will loose like a half inch. Hopefully my cardiologist will clear me for surgery next summer so I can have some relief from these sweater canons.

Ah yes, I had those symptoms too! My problem is more with the ribs right under my boobs, where the underwire sits, I can't have any pressure there at all from anything, not even like...non wired bras or tight fiiting clothes. Sucks man. But yes, I would get the back pain too and breathing just felt horrible and believe me I had tried every bra in existence to see if they were the problem.

The sad thing is anon, I actually have been to the doctors and spent about £1000 on tests for that and another problem and nothing came back. (I was basically told to just take pain medication, fucking what) but I was recommended to start acupuncture and whilst it hasn't fixed the problem it has helped a lot. The only closer I got to putting a name to it was someone suggested it might be Costochondritis?
