None of these are actually suited for your bodytype so just go ahead and do the one you like most! Also curvy tells us nothing, measurements are always king.

>> No.7024357

>>7024156
Measurements help.

Also, you can always hunt through the art and find one that slightly flatters your shape more. I love the art and want to make an outfit, but I really don't want to do one of the ones that show so much leg since I'm bottom heavy and it's mostly in my legs. Ones that are either full skirts or skirts down to at least the knees look better on me.

That outfit makes you look like an overgrown trussed up baby

>> No.7024402

I don't know if it's poor craftsmanship on the cosplayer's part or that the outfits just don't translate well to real life, but most of these cosplays look bulky and unflattering tbh

>> No.7024412

>>7024390
Love the costume but it's not a flattering angle sadly - get some from the side it will translate better

I'm convinced the bulky cosplayers didn't make a proper corset to cinch their waist considering there are nice and shapely ones out there.

>> No.7024436

>>7024422
That's a big part of it, yeah. I also think that sometimes the scale of the ruffles and trim is kind of wonky so it doesn't look as delicate as in the drawings

There are quite a few outfits that are more flattering to everyone! There's quite a few that I've seen in Alice's World and some of the gems aren't too bad.

I hope you don't mind the self post, but I just finished up Aquamarine this past Supercon. Shitty photo, I know, but I'm hoping to get better ones at Dragoncon. One of the biggest problems I've see with Sakizou cosplay, is that the girls don't make a proper corset. Agreeing with others that it's one of the most crucial parts!

don't want to burst your happy bubbles, but imo sakizo cosplay is seriously suited for petite people. the way she draws her characters, their proportions are loli to a point of being child-like. even if you have a really good costume, it just looks off if you aren't petite.

Friends and I are making a group. I'll be doing Apple Pie, which will be all kinds of bulky. Only just realised the possibility of someone thinking they're really funny and making American Pie jokes. I'm not sure if ready.

>> No.7028853

>>7028798
I don't think that is true at all. Most of her designs have long legs and slim physique. I don't think height matters as long as you are proportioned similarly to her artwork. A youthful face would help, and if you are short that's a "bonus" maybe since it goes with the whole tiny doll thing. Most of these designs (the really giant ones - not the lingerie ones) would eat up and possibly even make someone short (say 5') look too stubby for the works.

>> No.7028861

>>7028853
I don't think Anon was referring to height because you can't really tell how tall these people are. And as for short people looking 'stubby', Mangafreak can't be any taller than 5 foot 2 and she looks like a goddess in it. It's very possible and very easy to make yourself look taller

Why don't you guys skip the euphemisms and admit that fatties don't look good cosplaying Sakizou illustrations? So many girls with giant ham thighs and fat bulging out from their corsets like >>7024073 here. I understand the craftsmanship and design appeal of her work, but fatties are never going to look good in frilly lingerie, no matter how well tailored (or not) it is.

The 3 requirements for a good Sakizou cosplay are young face, skinny, and good craftsmanship. Lack any one of the trifecta and you'll look like shit.

Why can't people just admit they hate the way fat people look no matter what they wear? No one ever says X fashion looks good only on fat bodies.

>> No.7028919

Trying to impose rules on everyone else validates them. Like those "makeover" shows that generally spit in people's faces for not meeting their standards.

The very thought of a fatty/chubbychan getting more recognition than someone smaller really shits the bloomers apparently.

(i just wanna see pretty costumes / art and this everpresent "argument" is for the birds)

It does just seem like she appears to have a chubby face. But I don't know, she could be a fattychan and that corset is doing a damn good job, while the girl isn't lucky enough to be a fattychan blessed with a slim face.
Or she could be s skinny girl cursed with a chubby face.
Sage for off topic.

Hi, I've always wanted to make Sakizou's Macaron and soon I'll be starting on it soon. Although I've ran into a huge problem, I can't wear corsets!
I broke two ribs that are right underneath my left breast.

Are there any ways I can make something that looks like a corset for this outfit but doesn't squease like a corset?

>> No.7029560

>>7029476
Sure, just sew bodice and bone as usual, but don't make it actually constricting, just fitted. Use heavy duty zip ties for the boning, which is flexible and cheap, don't skip the boning or you'll look like frumpy shit. I suggest you wear spanx or something underneath to smooth out your midriff though.

Curious though, if you don't mind, why can't you wear corsets? Were your ribs not set properly or is the break recent and your ribs are fragile?

It wasnt recent but my ribs are fragile. They've been fractured twice now, it was due to binding :/
