Planning on buying some from bodyline. Anyone know if their sizes run small?

>> No.6996769

I've heard a lot of different things about them- some say they're wide, some say a half size large, some a half size small.. I don't know what to believe.

This may be a stupid question, but are RHS hard to walk in? They look really bulky and like you would have to completely change the way you walk.

>> No.6996813

>>6996802
No harder than any other platforms, really. The foam ones are especially light, so it shouldn't cause a problem or THAT much of a change in stride.

The one thing I've noticed is that certain brands have a very narrow base (Mostly VW and Lolita Lola), so they wobble sideways. That can be dangerous in any shoe, but doubly on a high platform like that.

>> No.6996830

They run small, perhaps about half a size? I had a few uncomfortable days in mine before they stretched out; now they're quite comfortable.

Sorry if this is a dumb question, but what do you mean by narrow base? like the shoe itself runs narrower?

I actually have handled a pair of vintage loafer-style VW RHS before and I noticed they are incredibly narrow.

Is it horrible that I would own like 6 pairs if they didn't still have faux wood bottoms even with no wood?

I am one of those people who HATES when my shoes don't match my outfit- TBH I will totally wear all black just so I don't have to worry that I don't have the "right" amount of color in my outfit to pick up the other colors and the idea of wearing wood soles with nothing else in my outfit being wood sole colored gives me kind of a cold sweat and I would buy them and not wear them.

Not an outstanding outfit, but... at least I felt like hot shit. I think for casual wear they work best with pants. Because the lacing up the leg is just too fancy for casual wear and all bunched around the ankle just looks bad.

I've always really liked the look of RHS. Where is a good place to get them in the style where the platform actually goes the whole length of the shoe? (Pic related) I don't like the ones that have that chunk "missing" at the end.

Im not a lolita, so Im familiar with this kinda stuff. I want to buy a pair for some outfits I have, but I don't want to buy from some place that makes crap shoes. The ones pictures are from minkyshop. Is that a good place for these kind of shoes, they seem to have a decent selection in the platform style I like. Thanks ladies.

>> No.7001900

>>7001894
That's what a RHS is, anon. Without the chunk, it's just a platform shoe...

>> No.7001904

RHS are just so perfect in a good punk outfit.

Though I never get to wear mine enough, which is probably a good thing since they're VW and I'd likely trash them and waste the small fortune I spent on the bastards.

Also first time ever I wore 'em I almost slipped a broke my ankle, because nobody told me to walk in them you gotta walk on the inside of your foot. Since the wooden sole is actually slimmer than your foot you gotta balance your weight so carefully.

I guess that's the plus side to fake ones, that and the foam sole is often a bit comfier.

>> No.7001920

>>7001894
I was definitely going to start a cutout-versus-noncutout debate here.

For cheap and convenient, Bodyline is your best bet. They have cutouts, but the soles are made of thick EVA foam covered with vinyl wood-grain. They're more than capable of supporting your weight and easy to walk in, but obviously not as nice as real wood. Bodyline are trustworthy and really easy to order from. This would be what I'd advise you, assuming you like something in their selection of about five shoe types.

An-tai-na on Taobao (go to the Taobao thread if you're a Taob-noob) also do some with cutouts and even real wooden soles now, but the selection is hit-and-miss, and I think their foam looks uglier than Bodyline's (and it's uncovered on some shoes.)

Lolitalola on Taobao (you can buy through Clobba Online as well, but with a markup) also do real wooden soles. I think Custom House on Taobao also do them, but I'm not sure.

Avoid an-ten-na (good quality, but don't do cutouts), Tokyo Bopper (great quality, but no cutouts) and Milanoo/mylolitadress/etc (legendarily shitty horrible fucking company and the shoes are ordered from the places I mentioned above anyway, with a huge markup).

I clicked on this thread and now I feel a compulsive urge to drop a few hundred bucks on shoes.

Do you have the address or name of the store? I would be forever grateful!

I second Montreal rhs for comfort. I've had mine for 7 years. They are basically falling apart but I love them to death (literally!)

they have a facebook "tin sum shoes co" which i can't post no matter how, thanks to 4chan's spam block. i also took pictures (kind of) of how to get there, i could post if you want. it's quite an obscure location, i would have thought their shop space was meant for residential purposes.

I really want a pair of Lolita Lola wooden RHS, I find the shape of the shoes to be the most gorgeous out there, but they aren't restocking apparantly. So sad!

I love those platforms, do want.
