speaking from experience? i was thinking about having some steel/wood construction. to be honest, i havent played guard in a very long time either, switched to GK/Inquisition some years back (hence the "I" on the buttstock and cardboard)... i did witness a Guard player hold his own against some crons (he did lose in the end but it was close) so make of that what you will

And guard used to be fucking bad ass and adaptable. But I never palyed new necrons, so i dont know. But I spend my time with friends and drinking and dota now instead of friday tabletoping.

heh the only problem with my plan is, anyone willing to make that chestplate outta steel is near impossible to find. i spend most of my time wondering if its worth buying Jokaero or what weapon can i do next (laspistol is likely so is chainsword, bolter not so much) and im working on a clothy Inquisitor get up (that damned hat)

Las pistols are easy. Between multi layered PVC with glue for the tip, and a solid frame work, you can cut off the handle for most any toy gun and make a bad ass gun.


I never want to do a commissar for the reason that because of its lack of armor, it is cosplayed far more than any other 40k unit due to all the cloth.

Also, I'm working on a boltgun right now, anyone have advice for where to buy aquilas or am I gonna have to make those?

yep i have a cheap airsoft pistol waiting in the wings for that project, might be a month before i do anything (if i wanted a bolt pistol id just get a nerf maverick) as for clothies, i like the Inquisitor its done a lot but always differently, also im known on other boards as Inquisitor Stebbins... formerly Kasrkin Stebbins... so the guard theme and Inquisitor come a bit naturally
