I don't think weight is an indicator but I think the following measurements are perfect for lolita.
Bust: 82-84 cm
Waist: 60-62 cm

Being too small can be a problem as well since clothes might look too baggy or skirts might be falling down without suspenders. Right now, I'm on a diet and trying to bring my waist from 78 to 70. Ideal would be what I wrote above but I don't think my ribcage will allow me to go down that small. I wish my boobs were smaller too and hope this diet will make them smaller.

The ideal weight for a Lolita ranges from 95lbs to 117lbs, depending on height.

Honestly, before I become familiar with Lolita I honestly thought it was fat girl fashion. I only ever saw obese girls wearing lolita-esque dresses. I though the point was to hide the chub with frills and lace since that was the only body type I really saw at cons as a youngster.

Nowadays, after seeing girls of all body-types and better dresses I think coordination trumps size most of the time. If you don't know how to dress and style yourself you're going to look shitty no-matter your weight.

For me, it's more about how the weight/size is distributed than how big a person is in general.

For example, I'd probably be considered pretty average/okay for /cgl/ weight-wise, but my body shape makes me look weird in some dresses.

However, I've rarely seen bigger girls who look good. There are a couple in my comm who manage to look pretty good while being larger by choosing styles and cuts that work with their bodies. I'm more concerned with people being healthy, clean, and dressing appropriately, but I do think that one can be "too big." If I had to draw some arbitrary line, I'd probably say that if you can't fit into 2L bodyline, you probably need to lose weight.

While I actually like Cupcake, I think she really needs to lose weight, especially after seeing that photo of her from a couple of years ago.

I bet the worst you've ever had it was having to sit next to a fat person on the bus for five minutes.
Try a 9 hour bus ride into NYC where your ex morbidly obese friend took up more than half of your seat so that your ass coud only fit partially sideways while your feet were stuck in the main aisle.
Or an airplane ride where the fat lady's side rolls touch you the whole hour journey.

I've had worse shit happen to me with dealing with huge whales but even I don't think about it everyday. Stop being such a victim.
