If you look in the Lolita General thread I posted there talking about it, and there's a picture of what it looks like. I think it's because the waistband isn't interfaced properly. Storing it flat might be an option.

I honestly think I just had my expectations too high after hearing that CP was such a cut above and probably expected way too much from one of the cheapest pettis that they sell. The poof is nice though not as full as the picture makes it seem and holds its shape well under the weight of the dress but still loses a bit. One of the things that I was afraid of that ended up not being a problem is the fact that it isn't lined. I was afraid that would mean the petti would be super itchy but it's actually pretty much fine. I hardly even notice the missing lining. Another thing that was a pleasant surprise is how well it held its shape during shipping. I unpacked and unfolded it and it instantly sprang into the desired shape so hopefully that means it can take a pretty good beating and thus last a while. Overall, I'd say a solid 4.5 out of 5.

Yes. It's due to customs so it'd be the same everywhere. You could technically try to sneak it (like order a whole bunch of stuff and ask the SS to stash the nail polish at the bottom of the box) but if it gets searched by customs, they're going to take it.

Yes, the hanfu movement is still a subculture. The officially recognized 'traditional costume' is the qipao, which I fucking hate because it's Manchurian in origin, and ugly on everyone, as well as slutty all around. People are trying to get back into it, and things like dissections of historical hairstyles/make-up/hanfu types are very popular on weibo.

制服呢 is a type of polyester cross-weave fabric that's very cheap, has good support, and comes in many bright colors. It's often used in making service uniforms etc. so many cosplay shops use it. Be careful anon, it's super hot and itchy though, and not very flowy. If you're not worried about comfort or heat (cotton shirt underneath etc.) then I would recommend it for uniform-style cosplays. There's another type of fabric that's similar, less itchy and hot but a bit more expensive, that is also used in cosplay called 卡单皇/卡单黄. You may be able to get your SS to request it be made with that instead, but expect the charge to go up. 制服呢全套 just means the whole set is made with that fabric.

No, the picture under the chart is to show the term for each measurements. 不含硬纱裙撑 means there's no petticoat underneath the garment for support. The petti is sold seperately from the cosplay, but it is still available for purchase in the same listing. They did not specifiy if the petti will be custom made, so you will have to contact your SS. I would guess the petti is made with a stretch band.

I have gone on a little adventure I want to tell you guys about.
A few threads ago an anon got laughed at for ordering things that you could get locally for cheaper and I was like "no way" and then an anon was like "yes way" and reminded me there was ebay and aliexpress. I had a look around and ordered a few things from both (aliexpress is taking a long time to ship. spooked.) and I'm starting to get a feel for what you can get cheaper from english language sites even though their prices are higher (because the shipping is low or free).
So I was all "haha taobao, I am not your slave anymore with your high shipping and your tempting stupid things" but then I remembered the really pretty things I wanted from taobao and lo and behold, there was no sign of those treasures anywhere else (except places like romwe which resell their junk for massive bux).
So, again, I think I'm starting to figure out what is cheaper on aliexpress/ebay and what's cheaper (or solely accesible) on taobao. The tricky thing about it is that taobao's not really cheap at all. With this in mind I've started thinking of taobao as a place to get really nice things for a reasonable price rather than really cheap things "omg look it's only 8 dollars" (because it's more like $15-$20 with shipping).
I just received some of those fake otk sock tights from ebay and they are lovely and even though they were $8 including shipping that's so much less of a dent in my budget than a taobao order would be at this time.
I am still planning on doing a nice big taobao order but it's nice to know that little orders can be done on other sites cheaply.
The reason I'm going on and on about this is partially to share with the newbies some of my acquired learnings and partially to thank you guys for being so helpful and teaching me how to shop. I love these threads so much <3

Here's the pink sheer dress, it is a nice barbie pink irl but I can't photo for my life.
It will physically fit anyone with arms below a 25 cm circumference and 78cm bust.
If you wanted it just to pose about in, it's okay, but unless you plan on wearing it over a turtle necked top with long sleeves, I'd avoid buying it. The unfinished fibres of the organza poke through from inside and scratch you at every move, when I took it off I looked like I had a rash because of how red it'd made my neck. Not to mention it'll arrive in a crumpled ball, and ironing sheer synthetic things is possibly on par with pulling your own teeth.
I'm going to try to sew some ribbon along the trouble areas, but it's such a simple thing that you could buy the fabric to make it for the same cost and just do it properly.

The quality on this dress is great, I wish there was more lace but the good cotton stuff there is on the front of the bodice is lovely. The fabric is a standard matte mid-weight cotton, so it's softer than DOL's canvas.
The buttons on the front are a little wobbly and I'm not sure re-sewing would change that, but it's not actually noticeable.The closest thing to a flaw is that the small pointed bottom of the bodice isn't as stiff as the rest, and so sort of folds up when you sit or pack too many petticoats under it, which creates a bit of a chubby illusion. It's a beautiful dress.

I'm clearly pampered as I wish there was some sort of detachable bow, but the plastic boning equals that out.
At 5"2 in small heels, it just fully covers my knees with the chiffon ruffle, so it's perhaps not one for the very tall girls. However looking down at a space I could fit a sandwich or two into, I think this dress might be more forgivable to larger busts than the usual JSK. I hope this answered at least some questions.

There isn't much point in me reviewing the bonnet as I have no clue what I'm doing and other than being permanently bent by packing, it's perfect. There's a bow on the side of it that also isn't detachable.

Sorry this doesn't answer your question but just a warning, in previous threads many people have mentioned they scuff (the fuzzy fabric, off) incredibly easily, so if you're planning to get a bunch be aware they don't last.

I've used BuyChinas search engine to find clothes, then I click "see item on taobao" then just buy with another SS. Don't make an account with them or anything, because they're a scam.

I've ordered from Taobaoring and this is my 12th order. I've never had any problems with them before.

Well I've been Emailing them back and fourth with lengthy emails and about a week ago (when I had my order confirmed and I paid a minute afterwards), I stopped getting responses from them. I completely forgot about Taobaoring (I'm kind of a shopping addict, and I would spend hours on end every day just checking to see when items arrived at their warehouse) and it's been a week now. They're still requesting first payment although I had sent them payment a fucking week ago and yes, I told them that I had sent payment.

Are they blacklisting me or ignoring me or scamming me? Anyone have similar experiences? I always pay as gift and I've never had a problem, but now I'm starting to get worried. I emailed them again and this is making me so anxious...

It just really pisses me off because a week has gone by and not a single fucking one of my items was purchased. Most of them are sold out now, so I guess I'll be getting a huge discount/refund on shipping at least...

Most SS will not buy big items unless your other items make a package worth sending. For example, umbrellas. It won't be shipped unless you can fill a box that fits the umbrella and a bunch of stuff since it is a hassle dealing with long or weirdly shaped items.
