yo this is me and i'm very aware of all the missteps here, i ran into a zillion time+budget issues leading up to fanime and basically had to sacrifice accuracy in order to just have a cute complete outfit to wear with some contacts i already had lying around. i'm gonna redo... probably literally everything, hopefully by AX, maybe sacanime.

can i ask, though, what the issue with the wig is? the flips were definitely a bit oversprayed and i'll probably get a slightly longer+pinker one when i can, is that all?

The biggest issue for me is the contacts. Get some circle lenses so you dont look like a demon. As for the wig, I think that the color is fine, but it could be a bit longer. Also, Chiaki doesn't have pink/purple hair like everyone thinks. It's a very very very light, dusty brown. If you can't find a wig in the right color and style, I'd get one in a good style in a super light ashy blonde and dye it.

Different anon but the contacts are scary as hell and do nothing for your face or makeup job- you should really get another pair. The Halloween varieties really don't work with these characters unless you're cosplaying Gundam or something. The colors of your costume are also pretty off, as well.

As for the wig, yours appears to be straight-up ash blonde when Chiaki's hair definitely isn't. And like you said, it's not long enough, but that's pretty much all that's wrong with it (albeit those two things being pretty major problems).

If you manage to get an accurate cosplay with a good wig together, I think you'd look pretty darn cute.

There's an SDR2 character I want to cosplay who has a rather spoilery aspect to their design that hasn't shown up yet in the main SDR2 translation. If you're talking about Komaeda, I did That Version at a con last month, though yeah, I had some reservations about it too. Basically, though, it's easy enough to hide in photos if you want to, and honestly, it's vague enough that most people probably aren't going to comprehend it if they don't already know the spoiler. I'm about to start working on Peko, and I'm having a little trouble with the wig. The wig I got is sort of a lighter grey, but a lot of people see her hair as being dark grey. What do you think? I can easily dye my wig and i was planning on dying it a bit darker, but I've seen so many peko's use dark grey wigs that I dont know if I should go with the norm or go with what I think.

Let me tell you why I don't like people like you and why I hate the whole trans fetishizing bullshit of tumblr and especially the "too rad to be cis" people.

A few weeks ago I went to a con. There, I met several DR cosplayers. One in particular seemed perfectly nice and sane. They were dressed as a female character and appeared 100% biologically female so I referred to them as such. They seemed very pleasant and we had some nice discussion about our shared fandom.

After the con I stumbled across their blog. It was full of infuriated 'triggered' posts about how they'd been 'misgendered' at the con and how upsetting and traumatizing it was for them and how inconsiderate everyone around them was. And yet at the con this person did not mention, not even ONCE, what they identified as or what pronouns they preferred. When I called them a she, not knowing otherwise, they said nothing and appeared to have no problem with it. Later, I was vilified as some completely horrible person for not magically knowing what they were despite the fact that I am not transphobic in the least and never have been.

This kind of shit is exactly why your little die cis scum movement will never be taken seriously, especially in the context of fandom. You automatically assume we're all out to get you and you don't even give us a chance.
