I want to cosplay Zacharie for PAX since I might have a group going but I'm worried there will be 2 million running around. It seems it's really popular with Homestucks seeing as the comic is on break for a few more months... then again I don't plan on just slapping a cardboard mask on my face and calling it cosplay...

Is that what that was? I thought it was more Homestuck. There were a bunch at AN.

Not many people cosplay to PAX, so you might be in the clear, but from what I've seen at the two anime cons I've been to most recently: Yeah, there's a buttload of them running around.

If I ever do OFF cosplay I really don't see a point unless I go through the effort of doing a detailed suit of like, Dedan or Bad Batter or Japhet. Any 'human shape' character is already in the process of being done to death.

Yeah PAX doesn't have too many cosplayers, I cosplayed Madotsuki a few years ago and no one recognized me sans one couple. I'm still deciding how I should do my mask, I'm thinking of trying with craft foam first though I've seen some really good ones out of clay. With a convention like PAX a heavy clay mask may be a bit cumbersome. I was thinking of getting wings and a fake sword too, and probably a fake baby to carry around.

I think the problem with a lot of OFF cosplay right now is that there hasn't been enough time to really have a good number of good cosplayers. I've seen pics of one Demented Batter and a Dedan so far that are good. I'm sure that once Homestuck is back OFF will probably be forgotten. Also there is a lack of a variety of characters to choose from.

So I have some kind of baseball uniform fetish or something, and I want to cosplay the Batter. What about the stripes on his uniform? Only on the top? No stripes? And would I have to paint them on, since ribbon or something could get wonky?
I don't really have a good figure for it, though, I'm obviously a girl, whereas most baseball players have that delicious inverted triangle shape. Would it be top whore of me to put on a black wig or something (no booty shorts or anything, full out uniform, just on a feminine figure)? I've never crossplayed before, so I guess there would have to be a lot of binding and padding.

An actual screenshot from the game, its a picture of the Batter, theres no stripes on a canon interpretation. But stripes or no stripes look great to me. Id go for a plain Baseball Jersey though, no stripes, but still has the buttons.

I'm trying to finish sucre for tomorrow. Still don't know what I want to do for her boobies. I have a nude top and a nude strapless bra thing. Any suggestions? Also my little finger guys. Thoughts?

Thank you! I'm re-doing my mask because it's super heavy and when I made there weren't alot of other masks for reference. Any suggestions in particular of mask styles? I'm trying to stay far away from the "cardboard and marker route".
On a further suggestion note, for those of you here who attended the OFF meetup at Fanime, any suggestions?

This and Dangan Ronpa, yes. Which is unfortunate, because Off is very good for being so short, and I hear DR is pretty good. But a lot of the dumbasses from Homestuck are migrating into these two fandoms, and making them look terrible.

They're all black and white in the game.
And go educate yourself then. Pretty sure there's a wiki. The character designs in the game are one of the best things in it, aside from the music and story.

..I have to admit, I absolutely hate the Elsen 'cosplays'. They're just.. dried, flaky paint onto some tired-looking faces with, again, dried black paint around their eyes and it just looks terrible.

The ones who do the Elsen box heads usually look great, though. At least they're better than THAT.

Why is it so popular with the Homestuck people?And why all the shipping?

If my phone had not recently crapped out I'd have more than one picture of the Sucre I threw together for a club night. It went fairly well except the lack of white pants other thanones that were way too tight to get the look right but oh well. I want to do it properly when I have a free moment to work on my own stuff.

Oh hell, I know that. It just seems to be a particular trait with HS originating people to argue the craziest ways the ship is real. People can ship all they want, I just can't stand when people have to dredge up split-seconds of character interaction that somehow justify it.
The amount of it with OFF just confuses me like it does with some other things where I personally see no basis for characters to be together-but still,do what you want I generally ignore but OFF thread and curiosity.
