I had a fucking horrible time because my hotel roomie got drunk and suicidal because his open relationship with an engaged couple turned sour.

It was also way too fucking windy, and holy fuck that homestuck photoshoot took up the entire lawn in front of the TCC.

Of course, the one year it drops down below 50F (10C) is the year they put the rave and dance outside.

I'm very surprised at the huge population of Homestuck this year. They outshadowed many others. I'm sad at the lack of other series. I went as Okuu, but god-damn... the number of Touhous was severely lacking this year.

I've got many stories. Saw a Giovanni nail a Pikachu cosplayer in the head with a masterball from quite a distance away. Nearly knocked her on her ass, made me laugh pretty hard. I sang the rice and cow song with some Ultimate Muscle cosplayers, and those fucking DALEKS! There are too many stories involving them. Anybody else see them?

I personally feel I could have done better at my panel but I felt it went decently and people seemed interested.

I heard a ton of people got pick pocketed. Theres been about six or so posts on the FB page.

Yeah, I think it was pretty rude of them to go through the dealer's room with the daleks. They (and the people who stopped around them) basically blocked off everything in the area, and they moved so slowly. They should have stayed in low-traffic areas, or outside where people could have easily avoided them.

I did see a mom, dad and son group cosplay of TF2 engineers and scout(the kid was a scout) with a dispenser. When you asked them for a photo, they would pose and tell the kid to "dispense some candy!". He would then run over, grab some candy and hand a piece over. It was so cute!

The fighting game tournies were pretty messy but an improvement on previous years. Several of panels were decent overall pretty good.

The only shitty thing I remember was that the Sunday Sailor Moon photoshoot had a really awful attendance, barely any cosplayers showed up. And because I went to it, I missed the autograph signing from Katie Griffin, the V.O for Sailor Mars. Pretty disappointed over that.

Overall, great con though! My feet killed and I wore the same long wig for all 3 cosplays which got tangled in the blowing winds, but I still had a great time. Just wish it didn't go by so fast

Well it was my first year going to AN.
I wasn't a fan of the wind. I could stand the cold had it not been for worrying about the wind making it colder and fucking up my wigs.

My 'experienced' con roommates were cool personalities and easy to dwell with, but they surprisingly had no sense of time for being regulars. For example we stood out in the cold for four hours before the door opened on friday, and then they took forever on all other days to get ready and didn't arrive at the con until late afternoon (thank god for hotel shuttles). Their time management really irritated me, and my reliance on them cost me some panels and an event I had paid for until I finally learned better.
Oh, and has anyone ever roomed with that one girl who insists on bringing her douchebag boyfriend? Fun times.

Other than that situation I enjoyed the atmosphere of the convention. I liked how you could walk somewhere and still see new costumes. The only thing that didn't quite impress me was the dealer's room, but that had more to do with seller wares. I just idealized it too much.

Saw some people from 4chan too. Some looked happy and were having a good time. Others looked miserable and mousy and exactly what I pictured a seagull to look like and act irl. Good show.
Might just come back next year.

This year's panel went more on using the internet to post on 4chan than actual discussion about it. It became unbearable after watching a video of Anime pussy and 4chan city. My group happen to meet up with one of the panelists today and we learned that the whole thing was planned poorly.

Are people not aware that Anime North is an anime convention? I think I saw more non-anime cosplay than anime related cosplay. There's nothing wrong with having other interests, of course, but if you're going to dress up, dress for the occasion.

I know it took at least two. I stopped by to see how it went at the start, they kept moving back and forth between the space, after ten to fifteen minutes I just up and left to the dealer's room. Over an hour and a half later they were still at it, and... I sort of wondering why they would take so long, I'd imagine it's because of all of the people. I didn't know they were trying to do panel recreations.

Thank goodness I wasn't Homestuck yesterday, and even if I was, I probably would have ditched after they called my character once. That group was just GIGANTIC.

Artist's Alley and Dealer's Room were pretty good this year. Sometimes they are meh but this year was actually impressive.

Weather was bullshit and really not ideal for cosplay at all. Too bright so everyone ends up squinting for photos, but also chilly and windy despite the sun so lots of messed up wigs and general discomfort from stuff being 2cold.

Saw way one too many chicks with their asses hanging out and they weren't even that impressive. The ones that stick out are those fetish Sailor Scout outfits, some chick on Sunday in a schoolgirl outfit and a skit that covered half her ass, and a crappy Poison Ivy wearing a bandeau and thong with leaves glued on and cracked, smudgy caked on neon body paint with - wait for it - dirty running shoes. All of which looked like they were on the brink of their vaginas flopping out. "but women can do whateva they want with their bodies!!1" is not an excuse for putting yourself at risk of getting charged with indecent exposure.

My jimmies were rustled a few times over the weekend because I dealt with more assholes than I was prepared to but overall good times.
