I never quite understood the big deal most weaboos (and, by extension, lolitas) make out of so-called "hime cut". It's just a straight hair with bangs and strands on both sides framing the face. Unless it's that UBER weaboo one where the strands are cut at eye's length, it's a perfectly normal, common haircut.

The strands on the side aren't supposed to curl or curve inward, that's what makes them look like regular layers. It's supposed to look very blunt and straight, something like a cross between an anime character and a traditional Heian era princess. The look can be quite weird, especially when the hime bits are cut wide like this girl.

I fell in love with old school lolita and I never stopped loving it. For me, lolita is still curly hair, enormous shoes, flat headresses and black&white. Maybe that's why I don't feel like I fit in with the lolitas anymore (and also because they're younger).
