Unpopular opinion time, but I think Alice in Wonderland-themed anything is just so unnecessary and overdone...I hate seeing coords/character designs/anything inspired by it because it feels so exhausted and tryhard...even before hipsters started worshipping it, I hated seeing things that were Alice in Wonderland themed in terms of visual arts because they were usually either really cookie-cutter and bland, or they were really unique and awesome which makes me feel like the theme is just a crutch to lean on for popularity and more widespread appeal. I understand that some people probably actually really do like the books and/or movies and want to tip their tiny little top hat...but goddamn.

Where the obi is tied, how it is tied, the width, and what it is made of depends on a lot of factors. One of the main things is era. Kimono were tied low in some historical periods. Obis didn't exists in some eras and they used several cords instead.
Also the status of the wearer changes how it is worn. Married women, unmarried girls, little girls, geisha, and oiran all wore their obis differently.

If you see an obi that looks like it is tied weird it could be they were headed to a festival dressed in period appropriate attire. Or they might be in a play.
Until I'm some kinda professional on all eras and textiles I don't assume any kitsuke I see is incorrect.

Ok /cgl/ I have a dress that looks damn near exactly like this but its in this red/floral fabric in pic, and it doesn't have the ruffles on the side. It wasn't marketed as a lolita dress but as a pin up girl dress, still has the same bodice cut and does require a petti. If I add a blouse, do you guys think it would be passable?
