Tenleid, right? She posted her wig in the progress thread and it looks pretty baller. I like that she didn't opt to make it superlong, and the dye job is fantastic. Nice to see that it looks pretty good from the front too, though styling the bangs a little would be nice. Starfire, just like every other comic character, is a caricature. Everything is exaggerated. Her hair, her waist, her boobs, her butt, everything is over the top. So what if her anatomy isn't perfectly realistic? That isn't what the artists were aiming for.

You shouldn't be comparing yourself to a caricature! It isn't real. Sadly, this shit gets ignored my people on the internet who cry about how impossibly skinny comic book characters make them feel inadequate.

>> No.6840504

>>6840493
it's not necessarily about feeling inadequate, it's that there are so few representations of at least somewhat realistic characters and poses. another anon mentioned above that they wished female comic characters would do more than just pose in every panel. where's the action shots that aren't physically impossible or blatantly sexual? it's boring to see the same stuff all the time, regardless of individual art styles and preferences. know what I mean?

The thing that pisses me off most about people getting mad because of unrealistic proportions or boring sex-object females is that everyone is forgetting the target audience, horny teenage to early 20s males. Male superheros, largely, do not look like the average guy. I'll give you that. However, male characters are always dressed sensibly. Male characters are never posed in ways that normal human beings cannot bend just to show off their crotch (apart from Nightwing for some reason?). Male characters are written with well rounded personalities.

Honestly, if we got to the stage where women in comics were stereotypically pretty, thin and with big breasts but written with an actual personality, not constantly posed in the most sexual manner acceptable in the context and actually dressed for the situation they're in, we'd be a huge step from where we are now.

>(apart from Nightwing for some reason?)

Might have something to do with his huge female fanbase, just a fucking hunch.

>Male characters are written with well rounded personalities.

>I need feminism because people stare at my tits

People will stare, it happens, sometimes it can't be helped, it's the natural sexual behavior of the human being, not a big deal, It stars to be a problem when they yell obscene shit at you, when they start harassing you, and even when they make you feel shame for showing your tits off, so to speak. Yeah, when we dress we're conscious of what kind of attetion we're going to receive, but just because you see a "hot" woman/men (because, women can be very abusive too) doesn't mean you have to make him/her uncomfortable with comments that may be unwanted and misinterpreted, right? Men are intelligent beings, they're not all a bunch of perv-apes, my issue is with the ones that actualy are like this. And you should worry too, because they make all men look bad, and that cause the more stupid group of females stick with the idea that "ALL MEN ARE THE SAME DD:" (wich is a presposterous idea, of course).

>I need feminism because my source of entertainment portrays my gender in a way I don't like waaaah
And would you say you like the form the media portrais your gender?
>inb4 I don't care about that shit, the world and I got bigger issues.
okey, but just think about it for a second will ya'? In most entertainment sources men are either: stupid jocks who threats everyone like shit and fuck everything that moves without giving two shits about the consequences, brutal, violent, kind of "filthy and messy" with "macho" attitude, "I dominate women" etc. When they're the 'nice guys', or either the intelectual type they have to be: beta-faggots, "geeks" (on the pejorative context), clumsy as FUCK, zero social skills at the point to be almost autistic, who couldn't ask a girl to save his ass. And, if they have even a hint of what you could call 'sensitivity' or 'feminine' interests, they have to be ridicously flamboyant, weak as fuck, a total coward who can't stand for himself, probably closeted gay... why?

WHY DOES IT HAVE TO BE LIKE THIS?

Yeah, they're plenty of good-male characters portrayed on TV and other media as they are some good female characters too (less women that men I got to say from my expierence, but you probably have a different opinion), but the fact is the thing that what the media actualy sells and the people consumes are these shitty stereotypes, these character's canon personalities that are repeated ad nausem, and makes the more gullible people use this canons as a defintion of genders, or races, etc. That is not the reality. Wouldn't you like a simple-balanced-man, whose intelligent, critical, emotionaly healthy, average looking guy, just dealing with the world without being so outstanding because he is "SUCH AN ALPHA" or " A SHITTY OMEGA"?, because I want, and I want women like that too, someone with some actual brain and soul, and cares for people, and resolve issues without being limited by his "personality details" A.K.A: the character it's uncapable to adapt his attitude depending on the situation, and it's gonna keep doing the same stupid shit everytime. Altought I know these steryotipes reflects (pitifully) the actual majority of people, and you could call that the 'reality', why do we have to spend time and resources portraying these kinds of behavior like if it was something actualy normal, or even good (example: the asocial-loser-geey character, so cool :BB), when we could send a better message and save some of the kids that right now are TV-zombies thanks to their incomptent parents?...I just wanted to say this, back to lurk mode now...ah, and also, sorry for my english, not really my mother language.
