Am I the only one who dislikes how she does her makeup?
It's too cakey for Merida. And when I met her, I was kind of upset about it.

Merida looks really natural, and young.

FUCKING CAPTCHA.

>> No.6837751

>>6837736
You're not the only one. Merida is young and fresh faced. Just some mascara and blush is okay. I dont get making her look like she's in her late 20s

>> No.6837752

>>6837736
I hate her makeup too. She looks older than the mother. If Disney wants their face characters to wear so much makeup they should hire Traci Hines.

Oh thank god. I was afraid I was being overly critical because Merida is my favorite princess.

>>6837736
Have you seen that "don't change Merida" petition running around online? I guess they're trying to make her look more painted up like the other princesses. I agree the makeup is terrible. I wish they would use some foundation, blush and maybe some eyeliner/mascara. That's it. This looks terrible. Especially dem eyebrows.

>> No.6837778

>>6837775
Yeah. :/ They made her thinner and curvier.

I love how she looked before. She ha big bright eyes, and was a bit more pear shaped than other princesses. I feel she was more relatable before.

I remember the little girl was really confused and took her picture and walked away with her family. It was hilarious because the Evil Queen did not give a fuck.

Another time I saw her walking through Fantasyland, so I walked right behind her. She turned, waved her finger in a "Follow me/come here now" fashion to my brother and I. We followed her and when this dad asked if he could take a picture with her she said, "I asked THEM (referring to me and my bro), not YOU." Each time I've meet the Evil Queen she's done something pretty hilarious.

Story from Tumblr:

So Wishes starts right, and I’m into it enjoying it like always. When randomly, Gaston comes out. Now, I dunno if this has become a usual thing, but I’ve never seen him out during the fireworks before, so in my head I was like, ” oh that’s different.” Then I went back to Wishes.

Well, a few minutes later, Gaston comes up beside me and starts up a conversation. This is how it went.

GASTON: “You like fireworks?”

ME: “Of course! Wishes is like my favorite thing to see here.”

GASTON: “Oh really? Do you find them…romantic?”

ME: “umm….Sure I guess?”

GASTON: “Good. I put these together for Belle. I’m sure to win her over with this time.”

ME: “Well, how can you be so sure she’ll see them?”

GASTON: “What do you mean?”

ME: “I’m pretty sure she’s getting ready for a really fancy evening with The Beast in that castle over there.”

GASTON: *flustered* “Wha……what do you mean? Are you sure?”
ME: “Pretty sure.”

GASTON: “Where’s an angry mob when you need them?”

My bestie and I wanted to take a picture with Hook when we saw him but he kept running away, lol and Jafar was super intimidating and kept suddenly turning around and having a stare off with us. I love these guys.

>> No.6838407

When I worked in costuming with the face characters at WDW for the short time I was there, you not only have to have the right fit requirements, but very specific facial features that match the main face character in the promotional advertizements, that way when a guest goes to the parks, they can never tell the difference between the princesses if they meet them separate times. That's why a lot of the princesses aren't super pretty-- they care more about those specific facial features than actually getting pretty princesses. There was one Rapunzel that we called "THAT Rapunzel" because she was so ugly. She was also really ditzy, so that didn't help either.

This is only the case with the US, though -- apparently in Japan and China they don't care as much.

I can't speak for Paris, but typically heights range by character. For example most pixies like Tink are 4'11"- 5'2", Alice and Wendy from 5'2"-5'4", and princesses from 5'4"-5'7". Im on the taller side but I have done most princesses and one pixie. Age like I said doesn't have a limit, as long as you look the age of the character which can range from 14-20. Weight there also is a specific one, you must just be a healthy weight, average really. Not too skinny/muscular and not too chubby.

Oh of course! I was hired when I was sixteen, but I was home schooled at the time and thats why. Honestly (and this is for WDW only) they only hire characters for fulltime. Ive never met anyone that worked character entrtainment part time so you pretty much have to have a free schedule all the time, and that plays into a lot at the auditions if they will put you through to the next round or not.

I auditioned twice before I was hired, first I did the face only audition and I made it to the "final round" but didnt get hired, I tried again soon after with a general entertainment audition (dance, parade, etc) and was cast into characters. Its nerve wracking and you never know REALLY what they are looking for so its hard to give advice. I can "break down" the auditions if you want though?

Thank you. I'm a bit small, 1,58 m so just a bit more than 5'2''. Is breast size a problem? I have D cups and I wondered if that would be a problem with fitting into costumes and modesty.
What do you have to do as a face character? is it just walking around the park the whole day meeting kids or do you also do shows and parades? Do you always dress up as one character or do you switch with other actors as well? How is it to work there? Sorry if I'm a bit too excited, I'just curious because it seems as such a special job.

Actually yeah, being that height with that size breast might be an issue though dont take my word for it. You'd prolly be okay in Alice or Wendy, but Tink and the other pixies might be an issue since they dont cover as much.

Job wise we are usually assigned to an area or meeting spot and do 45minute-1 hour sets meeting and greeting. you have to do a different class/audition ONCE you are hired to do parades and shows. Also if you do face you WILL do suit characters as well! A lot of people hate that, and dont want the less glamorous job and lets just say they dont last long lol.

>>6838626
Most face girls are the sweetest people. They love disney and their jobs and just are really geniune. The bitchy ones never last long. I know I personally love interacting with adults! Adults who are excited are the best, and its fun to joke around and have convos with people who "understand" you. Most kids you could say gibberish and they would just nod or keep telling you about how you're on their underwear and sheets and soap and toothbrush etc etc!

Okay so auditions. I will start for if you go to the ones that are focused on face only. Disclaimer, this is just for WDW, Im not sure how the other parks do things. Bascially, you check in and they take your height, give you a number, and then you wait in a parade rehersal room until your group is called. Usually you're called in in groups of 50 but that can change depending on how many people show up. You then stand in lines of 10 and they play some disney background music. The casting directors study your line and your faces, and after all 5 lines are called they will call out the numbers (if any) of people they want to stay. You then sit and wait until all groups have gone, and then the people called go back in. From there they'll have you fill out some paperwork, take a polaroid, and then they will have you in lines again and talk to you one on one. They'll study your face closer here, and ask you some questions about your experience in entertainment and school schedule (if any). From there if you fit the face requirements, and their hiring requirements, you will try on wig/makeup/costume and take pictures as that character and preform a monolouge. And then its the waiting game to see if they will call you back!

General entertainment auditions are about the same, at least for the last part. The first part is different in that you learn an across the floor routine and then do some pantomiming if you pass the parade routine. If you pass the parade routine and the pantomime, then you go to the hair and make up.

Like I said, I cant speak for other parks or if it has changed since then but thats what Ive experienced and Ive heard its still pretty close to the same.

Spiderman still isn't Disney, though. It's Marvel. Just because The Walt Disney parent company owns something doesn't make everything related to that something "Disney." Not to mention that the Spiderman story is about a non-official actor hired for a toy store... you wouldn't post Traci Hines or party princesses in a Disney face character thread just because they happened to be paid by someone.

In any case, it's painfully obvious that this thread is about Disney face characters--as in official face characters from the parks and other official capacities. Not about "oh hey TWDC happens to own this property so it's related!" You wouldn't post a Lifetime movie character in this thread just because The Walt Disney Company owns the ABC TV group. So getting your panties in a wad because someone points out that Spiderman is not a Disney character--and he's not--is pointless.

There was more in the general entertainment that made it through, but then we were seperated into groups like character (about 20), parade (maybe 35) and pupeteers (I think, im not sure, and there was about 15 of them)

Wearing a minimizing bra will help. Im not that height, so im not an expert in those characters but I have worked as one of tink's friends (meaning I worked alongside a tinkerbell) and she was maybe a b cup max, but she also wears a more revealing costume. We also do not wear our own bras with the costumes, most are built in so theres that too. I have a friend who is a manager...Ill have to ask her about that. Its not something Ive ever really given much thought too and now Im curious!
Suits are so much fun, and while they get hot, I really enjoy doing them. Most of my funny stories come from those roles...like a parent asking my friend Rafiki if he could hold their infant over his head like simba!!

Once my friend Snow White had a little girl run up to her and go "Look Snow, You're on my underwear!" and turn around and pull up her dress so Snow could see....that was an experience! There of course is the touching stories too, like an older woman who had been waiting her whole life to go to Magic Kingdom but couldnt with her kids due to money, and her grandkids due to her having cancer. She finally made it out here, still very sick, and being the last person in line my friend Mary Poppins got to have a very long and beautiful conversation with her. She started crying because it was everything she hoped for and more, and Mary Poppins was her favorite movie, and she was so beside herself to finally meet her. I never wanted to let go of that hug and I just dont have the right words for how touching it was.

They are super different! I grew up in FL going to WDW (even honeymooned there!) but I live in CA now and have been to DL. It's the original, and it's very small in square feet, but has SO much stuff for the size!
First off, there is almost no transition between the sections of the park, your passing small world, then bam- toon town. The park also very clearly dead ends, where as WDW loops you around. DL also has a lot of original rides that WDW has replaced, like Mr. Toad. There is a train that loops the park, and the monorail is more of a ride than functioning transport.
One of my favorite sections of Disneyland is the little New Orleans- lots of cute shops, and the BEST food!
I'm really looking forward to visiting DL again, it's very cozy!

This is why I want to become a Disney character! Holy crap what an experience that must be! It just sounds so amazing, so much fun, so touching, everything! And I'd totally be game for fur, even though (naturally) I'd prefer to do face. I think I could suit Aurora or Belle the best, but I'm very pale so I'm not sure. I'm 5'7'', and size 8ish, and look in my early 20s (which I am).

Do they have foreigners audition? I mean, if I (somehow) got the chance to go to like Paris or Florida, would it matter that I only speak English (with a British accent no less)? How do you become a face character in like Tokyo? Does everybody do their own makeup? Do you live in dormitories? I mean, do you have to like "abandon" your old life to do it, or do you just do it for a few months at a time? I really want to maybe at least TRY, but not living close makes it a bit hard to uproot my whole life, even though it's my dream.

It really is an experience, I love it! Face and Fur are both great, and both rewarding and challenging in different ways. Im very pale as well, but Ive been friends with Aurora. Belle is typically more tan though.
I cant speak for Paris but here in FL you only need to speak English and honestly are expected to only speak that. Maybe a french phrase here or there for Belle, but Snow speaking Spanish would obviously not work haha. You would need to not have an accent though. Poppins and Alice are the only ones with Brittish accents but theyre also more of side characters so you wouldnt be doing them all the time. I know I took classes on british accents and my friend scottish for Merida but you have to be able to turn it on and off.
Face characters for HK and tokyo usually audition in european countries, CA or FL. It changes from time to time so the best thing to do would be just to keep checking their website for that. Yes, we all do our own make up. Only the college program lives in assigned apartments, regular employees (including entertainment) live in their own apartments and homes. You could do it for only a few months but youd have to quit. Like I said earlier we're typically only hired full time. It takes up a lot of your time and it is a huge commitment. Being forgeign you would have to move to where you working be it FL or CA. I havent abandoned my life at all, its a job in the end of things. Yeah Im busy but we do have days off and I do find time to do conventions and such. I dont think its really different than any other full time job when it comes to abandoning your life or not haha....though I do know girls who have dropped everything and just moved to FL to work not knowing if they had the job for sure or not. I wouldnt suggest that though...only one did get the job and her two friends are now working attractions.

Thank you! I could probably turn the British off, if I practised a bit. I might have to look into when/where auditions are actually held, and maybe go for it! I mean, if I get it it would totally be worth moving, and if I don't, then at least I'd get a cool holiday out of it! Is there a chance to get help finding apartments etc? I guess for me it'd be easiest to try out for Paris! I normally work as a freelance designer anyways, so the only thing that really ties me down is my fiancé, but perhaps I could convince him to move abroad for a year or two!

This Im not sure about. I think in Paris they are, but I worked with a girl who transfered to HK for a year and she didnt know anything but English. I think HK and Tokyo theyll teach you simple Japanese or Chinese so you can get around on your days off, but I dont think theyre expected to be fluent or able to carry a convo at all. Ive honestly always have been curious about how that works too, like if the princesses have a translator or something! Thats another thing Ill have to ask around about!

I miss Disney World so much. I went for my Honeymoon in January and just had the best time. The face characters were all so awesome.

When I met Snow White my first day there, I was wearing one of the Kumacraft Sailor Moon necklaces. She looked at it, looked at me, and then went, "You must like Bunnies!"

I was so bowled over with the whole experience that I didn't get the joke at first, but five minutes after I walked away from the meeting area, I couldn't stop laughing.

Snow White is awesome.

I've only ever been to Disney once in my life. For my hs senior trip we went to Disney World, and it was probably the best week in my entire life.
Also, it didn't hurt the fact that my 18th birthday happened while we were there.
But up until that point, one of my life goals was meeting and getting a picture with Aladdin. It was my favorite movie growing up and all I wanted for the longest time was to go to Disney, and get a picture with him.
So we find him in Epcott on the day of my 18th birthday, and Jasmine's with him! Holy crap I was so excited, but felt kind of odd waiting in a line full of children, but when I got to the front for a picture they were so nice to me and I was practically in tears.
And right when they were going to snap the picture, this ugly, stupid landwhale bitch from my year jumps into the photo from out of no where, glomps Aladdin, is just OMG ANON LETS GET A PICTURE TOGETHER!!!!!!!!
I was so devastated I just stood there in shock, and the Jasmine was a total bro and gave this girl a dirty look and said "I feel for you" while patting me on the back.

Sorry for the random story, I thought it was thread appropriate?

Hey there, yes we do have to put on that make up. Don't blame us, it's what were told to do, and it is because in 90% of pictures (and when on stage/parades) it just looks better. Now were seeing more people with more professional cameras in the park and that's where the heaviness of the make up really shows.

Haha, here we go!
I've been friends with Aurora, Snow, Mary Poppins, Jane, Vidia, and Cinderella! I quite like Mary Poppins because she attracts an older crowd and was one of my favorite movies growing up as well! She's different than typical face characters and I love the change. I've done a lot of suits too!

The other girls are just excellent out of character! I've made some of the best friends through this. The bitchy or snobbish ones are a pain but I've also noticed that they don't last that long.

Pros and cons. Pros: free entry into the parks, discount on stuff in the parks, doing a job I love, meeting great people, performing for a living, working for a great company. Cons would be long hours, the heat, the occasional terrible guest, people having a distorted perception of what you're like "out of character"

Ahhh kid experiences. 90% of the kids are super cute and sweet or just terrified/star struck. There's a 10% that's stressful, the ones who try to wipe boogers on you, show you their underwear, pull your "hair" ect.. Really just kid stuff, but in character it can be hard to wiggle out of that interaction. Of course there are brats but the really bad ones our handlers will usually step in and control more firmly since they don't have a character to stay in. Most of bad experience come from asshole teenagers trying to unzip your costumes or grab your ass. Or drunk parents. Suits tend to attract jerks too.

Memorable moments.. The one with the older lady when I was friends with Poppins is my favorite. I posted it a bit earlier in the thread! Grandmas are the cutest though.

More than a few

>I'm 5'9", basic 'pretty' Caucasian features, size 8, but I have acne scarring. Do i stand a chance?
>How much does personality factor into the hiring process? Do they see how you interact with kids as part of it too?
>Are parents hard to deal with sometimes?
>Community underwear, roving wild packs of cats, club 33 and other rumors true or false?

Hello Snow! Thank you very much for answering all of these questions, however. When you say you've "Been friends with..." Does that mean that you've portrayed that character? I'm sorry, I'm just a little confused.

>> No.6839858

>>6839809
5'9" is a little bit tall, your acting/dancing/moving skills would have to be pretty spot on. By no means does it mean you wont be hired (Im honestly a bit tall too) it just limits who you can do. Size is hard...like its not about the number but how you "look". Kinda like how some size 6-8s look "plus sized" some dont. I know usually for your/our height though, size 6-8 look healthy and natural on us so I wouldnt worry about that. If the scarring can be covered up by stage make up, it shouldnt matter.
Personality affects it a lot I think. Once you make it past the type casting they talk to you, and Ive learned that they look for how you talk/what you say a lot. Like how personable you are. They do watch how you interact with other people auditioning secretly too. If you're snobby and not friendly, they will consider that strongly. Ive seen a lot of 16-17 year olds show up with the whole "everyone at school thinks Im pretty im a PERFECT princess" and they never make it because no matter how fake they are to the directors, they see their true attitudes in casual interaction when they think no one is watching.
Parents usually will be harder than kids. Some parents are perverted which is a challenge, some are grumpy and bitchy, and some are entitled. Usually the handlers will engage them so we can focus on the kids which is nice.
Haha! I love questions like this! Community underwear USED to be true yeaaaaaars ago! it isnt anymore, though as I mentioned most of our bras for face characters are built in and while our costumes are SUPER clean some people are weirded out about that lol. The cats are true in CA I think, though theres not that many and they only come out at night! Club 33 is true to! Ask me more about urban legends, I love them haha!
Yes they do. Thats where all the 16-17 "preppy" girls come out. Volume does increase for sure. And if you SAY at the audition you will only work a season I can promise you wont be hired. Ill continue this in part 2

Anyways DCP provides a lot of the "seasonal" roles. They want full commitments when they are hiring for characters. Too many people are trained and then quit when they realize how much work and commitment is involved and it has become quite the problem.
DCP is hit or miss. Usually when I work with another girl and I think they have a bad attitude...they're DCP. Idk they just have a different mentality or something. I hate to enforce the steryotype of regular CMs not liking DCP but I havent had the best of experiences with them...though of course some have been lovely! I cant help much with DCP, I dont know a lot about it at all. Im sure you could research it though and find out more about the application process, especially when it comes to entertainment position, Ive heard of forums dedicated to it. Checking the audition website too wouldnt hurt, sometime DCP only auditions are listed.

Sorry that was so much, I hope I answered your questions well enough! Let me know if not! :)

Nope! Dancing/movement is considered for sure. You dont always learn a dance combo but if you do its sooooo simple. Movement is to see if you could do well in suits. If they think you couldnt do suits, they wont hire you for face.
They do have seperate auditions for character roles that require a lot of dance skill like shows, or singing roles in shows too. They are not as commonly listed, but they do come up!

>>6839824
No problem! As weird as it sounds I cant talk about this kind of stuff to my friends because they either work at disney already or just dont care, haha! I love talking about the "behind the scenes" stuff! Yes! When anyone says they are friends with or hanging out with a character, that means they are/have portrayed them. We are not allowed to say that we ARE a character on like social media because it can ruin the illusion that we ARE the character, if you get what I mean. They just dont want kids seeing it or people that would loudly be like "Oh HEY anon" when you're in character and ruining it for kids. Another example would be even if Mickey were to appear in 3 different parts of MK or MK and Epcot at the same time, there is only ONE Mickey Mouse...he's just really good at changing fast ;)

Sometimes I work in MK then haul ass over to EPCOT for another shift or visa versa, I hate it because sometimes there is awesome people like you and I love seeing familar faces and repeat interactions. BUT Im really glad that we are talking now and that you didnt think I was weird/nuts and got it haha! Oh yeah Im pretty sure I know who you talked to and she is the best fairy godmother ever! Oh my, how lewd. (By Disney standards) It occurs to me how fortunate I was, sometimes, to be in Food and Beverage: Short of getting physical with a guest, I never had to worry about getting in trouble. You guys must be set to a completely different standard, since your face is the character.

I can't say I ever saw anything that hot and heavy, but I did catch a glimpse of Pluto and Donald in their sweaty, human glory in between photo sessions: If you're into that sort of thing, anyway.

I remember her too- she was really really sweet. I got a picture with her and the glass slipper I made later after I got a photopass card. I'm so sad I didn't get to have my picture taken with you cause we had JUST gotten there and had no clue about how Photopass worked and hadn't gotten a card yet- and also I was so excited over meeting my first princess that I just didn't care at the moment. You asked me what a cellphone was after the message-bird conversation and my brain just refused to work at all and I said something dumb because I literally could not the brain.

Hey, um, I hope this doesn't sound weird or anything, but would you like to exchange emails/skype/msn/aim or anything? I'd love to finally have someone to talk to about Disney World and stuff besides my husband. Nobody else I know really seems to care as much as I do.

Yeah as long as we behave on set, and dont post lewd stuff on FB they dont care what else we do. The manager I worked with a lot was super chill as long as you were good at your job and super fun off set and out of the parks. A lot of the characters inter-date its kinda super freaking weird. I dont even know. Haha we are SO scary in between sets, Im so sorry you had to see that haha!!

>>6839930
Awh yeah, photopass is great, Im sorry it wasnt explained to you sooner! You didnt say something dumb dont worry, the whole "what is technology" thing always throws people off haha! You were lovely though, and great people like you always make our sets awesome!

Sure! If you dont mind, if you add your email to your response Ill shoot you an email! I dont have skype or anything else lol, and dont want to post my own simply because Im still a little paranoid though I doubt my bosses browse cgl haha! I hope you dont mind that though!

The sad thing is that I was expecting the whole "What is technology?" It still didn't make it any less brainblocky when it hit me the first time though. Still not as bad as when I met the Beast though- he's my favourite character from anything ever, and I'd been waiting a LONG time to meet him at Disney. As soon as it was my turn to see him at BOG I pretty much just broke down completely from emotion/excitement overload, hyperventilating and sobbing. I think I scared the poor guy.

Email is in the email field. I understand completely- I've heard stories about how crazy they are about maintaining the illusion.

I distinctly remember how dating in Disney was actually addressed during orientation. So many people work there, they admit it would be impossible to forbid workers from dating one another. I laughed at first, but I figured out how true it is.

I don't count college program, though -- let's be real, they're just guests who get paid to break their back for Disney and party hard. Some of the stories I've heard from those kids (Like... I didn't know fucking inside of someone's trunk was a thing, but it is).

Awh its still okay! Secret time, sometimes Im still afraid IVE said something completely dumb (and a lot of the times I do haha). Seriously though as weird as it may sound we love reactions like that from adults, it reminds us that the magic is still there for older guests (than kids) and just is great. You prolly made Beast's day, that guy doesnt get enough love! I went to see one of my friends while I was still in training and I was so awkward meeting her and I felt so stupid because come on, I know the girl. Sigh. I was also so giddy and speechless meeting Gaston for the first time, thankfully his friends are some of the best improvers and actors I have EVER met! So yes, you're not alone!

Yeah Ive seen girls get away with their profile pictures on FB being them in character but Id never be that brave. I love my job and would hate to endanger it so blantly. Ill shoot you an email now! :)

Ugh DCP gives some of us the worst image. I mean yes they're college kids but they're my age or older and they just act so irresponsibly. Im not trying to come off holier than thou but when I dated "Tiana" we were as professional as possible. Like we ate lunch together and held hands in the ultiadors occasionally, and that one peck, but we kept all other things outside the parks completely. Yeah I remember it being addressed too and I was like "okay easy" but you spend so much time with the same people its kinda hard NOT to be interested in some.

>>6839959
Sadly, big defining features are hard to get hired with. Mostly because you wont look like the other girls who do the same character and that could ruin the illusion for kids. That doesnt mean you shouldnt try though because I by no means speak for disney casting or who they'd cast. Its cliche, but even if things dont turn out perfectly it really is a good experience.

Well, that's the difference between someone who is there to work for Disney (You) and someone who's just working at Disney (them).

I think part of the problem is they think they're on vacation, until Disney starts giving them 50+ (I've seen as high as 70 in a poor girl from China I worked with, her name was Lily and she begged me to take some. ;_;) hours a week and start working them to the bone. Talking with them, a lot of them resent it, and so like typical kids... they lash out, in their own passive-aggressive way.

It sucks, but that's just my perspective on it. Still, I met a lot of cool kids from college program, and they're some of my fav memories from working there. I remember how me, and these two other CP used to sing Happy Birthday as a trio for random guests with whacky hats (I worked at Pizzafari, so our costumes were already very... "colorful"). We had a blast doin' it, too.

Ive heard of people regifting them, but I think thats kinda weird so I usually keep them haha! Usually its like drawings or letters so I like to keep those close to me. I also always gave characters coloring pages/drawings when I was younger, so that may be why!

No, I totally agree with you. I hate to say negative stuff about them, because a lot of them are great and want to be there and work, sadly they just aren't the majority. It does totally suck, I would never do the DCP after seeing the shit hours they get and such. I mean Im not a huge fn of my hours either and during extended hours/special events like halloween and christmas I work WAY more than Id like. It is exhausting, and I do understand WHY they lash out...but at the same time thats why they get the bad reputation.

Ahhh good old Pizzafari! That sounds great though, and like I said some of them are the greatest. Ive noticed though the DCP kids Ive loved were all NOT in entertainment so that may have something to do with it. The DCP that work in entertainment are the ones that usually have the shit attitude I cant stand. Its a weird trend but Ive noticed they tend to have the "its all about me being the princess" and not the "its all about the guests meeting the princess" if that makes sense

The hours were pretty bad, no matter where you worked; But I remember MK got you a buck premium just for working there, just because of how busy you would be. The program really needs to be reinvented, because at the end of the day all those kid's care about are their assessments and whether or not their managers will pass them.

I get it: They want to be special and like attention. They aren't interested in how they make the guest feel, just how they feel when they get attention from guests (or cast members). I knew people like that even in F&B, one in particular stands out... regardless, people like that never last. All it takes is for them to cross one guest, and you suddenly have half the park managers down your throat, taking statements from half the crew.

Anyway, it's always cool talking to a crew member who even (slightly) shares some common ground with myself. Take it easy, Snow; If I ever don one of the big mouse's costumes again and I see a princess, I might take a step out of my lonely little routine ask them about "> that feel".

>> No.6840027

>>6840019
Yeah I totally agree. I feel bad for the good 75% of DCP they get a bad rep and bad hours. I think it should be reinvented because in theory it is a great program, just needs some fixing up.

Oh for sure. I remember one girl in particular when we were working a character breakfast was just a horrifying Belle. I dont know how true it is but apaprently a little girl was crying because Belle "didnt pay attention to her....even though they 'met' earlier that day" which as we know was a different girl but its a HUGE no no to just go "I dont remember you". I didnt see her again after that, I did hear she was transferred to attractions though.

Haha thanks! I love talking to fellow CMs too, past or present! One of my best friends Ive met through (traditions) is in housekeeping and though we dont share the same jobs or schedules we love going into the parks together! And if you ever do...please do!

A friend of mine is coming back home early from DCP from WDW. He said he enjoyed working for Disney but he hated the hours and the fake and shitty people in the program. I know he made a lot of Magical Memories with guests in merchandise in MK since he's such a sweetheart and kid at heart. Ariel actually doesnt wear the illusion top all the time. For example when she meets in fin at MK she doesnt. I know she wears it in soundsational! (the pic you posted) because of where she is placed and because of the general look and design of the parade (it has rhinestones on the "skin" area)

I havent quite figured out why Mowgli wears that thing....At first I thought it was the whole man chest thing, but Tarzan when he does meet doesn't have the shirt or tights etc etc. He does have hilarious tourist sandles though. My best guess (and seriously, just a guess because I cant think of anything else) is because the character is underage and they wouldnt want an underage character showing that much skin? Idk, I know technically ariel is underage too but thats all I can come up with. Hes outfit also covers less than ariel's mermaid version too though.

I might ask some friends and see if they know. I doubt it, but some one might surprise me lol.

Is it needed for males who play young face characters (like him and Peter Pan for example) to shave their legs and arms? I haven't looked close enough to notice if they do or not, but similarly with cosplaying young male characters, most of the time it just looks better with clean hair-free legs.

Because if it's so, maybe they have Mowgli wear the suit so avoid having the actors having to shave?

Thats a good point! Since he isnt a "normal" character that meets pretty much year round, usually male actors who do other characters (Like aladdin Ive noticed) will do him on the side.
