I always thought that one tutorial where the person uses a ton of paint on cotton fabric to make "leather" was pretty wasteful when there are ways to get real leather or realistic vinyl. Anyone have that saved?

There's nothing I hate more than "anime eyes makeup". It looks horrible on EVERYBODY and NOBODY can make it work. It looks wonky, fucked up and weird, even if the person doing it can draw ~kawaii uguu anime eyes~
Another thing I hate is when mainstream makeup "gurus" like Michelle Phan and Promise Phan do "anime eyes tutorials" and they just draw their waterline an inch down their cheeks and paint it white. It looks disgusting and not cute or "cartoon-like" at all. Stop.

Yeah. The main anatomical issue is that your forehead isn't high enough and your nose isn't small enough to make it work, and they never will be.
Also, if you use your actual eyebrows as the upper-lashline, there's a dip between your brow bone and eyelid, so your animu-eye will curve inward slightly, which looks derpy as fuck.

And then there's the white-eyeliner trick. The problem there is that there's a shadow on your eyeball that you can't get rid of, so your animu-eye will have this random shadow that doesn't go all the way down the 'eye', making it look more retarded than intended.

I just wish people would stop trying. Anime has different anatomy than real life and you can't alter the latter.

I think that what bothers me the most about these tutorials is that whoever makes them doesn't really take the time to see if they match at all. They pic wrong combinations of colors and materials that fall under a very basic level of crafting, if it can be called like that. They have no sense of aesthetics and it's rather disappointing to see good products going to waste because of these asinine ideas.
