Are weight loss for cosplay/lolita threads still allowed here?
Lots of cons are coming/going and it's hard to find time to exercise and watch what you eat so you can fit into that cosplay! Can we have a thread to talk about routines for pre-con weight loss, or find exercise buddies or something? If not allowed I'll delete it!

ex-/fit/izen I'd say try there but they don't really offer actual advice anymore

Mostly, don't try and crash diet right before cons because
1. your metabolism is going to go 'what the fuck' and your energy will be sapped throughout the day.
and 2. sustainable weight loss is supposed to be a gradual thing that happens over time and prolonged effort

I'm no expert but I'll try and answer questions if I can

No they are not. Go to /fit/

I'd love to have that thick-athletic body. Hnghh.
My only gripe is what's going on with the hourglass in that picture? She looks pear-shaped.

Anyway I'm doing pretty good, I always like to get in shape before a con so I'm not sweating my makeup off at the con and huffing about. I'm losing about two pounds a week, and all I really did was just bump off all of my caloric drinks and walk a few miles five times a week.

I'm pretty sure that picture is shooped. If it isn't though, DAMN.

I've never understood this chart. Who made up these categories?

No, Cosplayers should wear what they want even if they are fat.
The days of getting fit to cosplay are over. No more fat shaming.

I think I do pretty good leg-wise. I do a lot of squats and leg lifts, so my quads and calves look pretty good.
But I gotta admit, I have no idea how to exercise my upper body very well, especially my arms. I ridiculously bought a 30 pound kettlebell which I barely use just because it's too much. I can only lift with that thing for like, two sets of ten and then I'm just done.
I also have a set of five pound dumbbells but eh...

Moot said these aren't allowed and should be kept on /fit/. You should probably delete it OP.

Man I currently have the Think bodytype, I'd give anything for the "Hourglass" (even though that looks more pear to me) but realistically I can only get down to thin with assets (and smaller boobs). I wish you could flip a switch and change your diet and exercise habits overnight, training myself to eat less/healthier is a pain.

>> No.6822659

I love how that picture completely disregards body shape and uses a shape as a size etc.

I didn't expect anything different from men, though.

It's not about fat-shaming. If you're going to cosplay as a character you should want to reflect that image to the best of your ability- including the character's body shape.

I would never cosplay as Cratos, not until I'd put on about 40-50lbs. Solid Snake, I could do given a couple of months. Likewise, if I were to cosplay as Ichigo I'd trim down, lose some weight and get that "skinny" look right.

Fuck your fat-shaming-PC-bullshit, it's not about that.

...well nobody is fat shaming here.
We just wanna check out what everyone's diet and exercise routine gearing up for a con is. If you don't have one then nobody here is gonna force you to comment and adopt one.

I've lost about 60lbs total. I was 210 at my heighest but usually stuck around 175-190 for years and years. I'm down to 150, with about 15lbs to go until I reach my current weight loss goal. Though I may go lower.

I just ate less and moved more. That's it. I eat around 1200-1400 calories most days, though I usually have a day here or there where I eat whatever I want (within reason AND moderation). Helps to keep treats as special treats, not everyday things, but I still enjoy food. I still pretty much eat whatever I want, just less in quantity.

But I don't have goals to attain a super-fit or super-thin body. Though I will probably add more strength training to tone up a bit. I just want to be at a healthy weight and fit into more brand, and do some cosplays I've been wanting to do forever.

Oh fuck off, being fat is unhealthy. If you're going to dress up in a skimpy outfit as most land-whales do, you are causing an eye-sore for people who have to see you. Cosplay all you want at home, but if you're going to cosplay outdoors you best not be fat.

>>6822509
Losing weight is ridiculously easy, find your BMR and eat 500 calories below it and bam, you'll lose weight.Throw in some cardio to get healthier and feel better. Make it a healthy diet of vegetables, lean meats and fish and you won't feel like shit. Only lift weights if you want to develop muscles or tone. It can take anywhere between a month and a year to reach your goal body depending on how well you stick to your regime and how much you want to lose.

Don't do any crash diets, fancy diets or starve yourself though as it never works. If you're a guy who want to lose weight and get a body, eat healthy, eat below your BMR, lift weights and add 30 minutes of cardio in every day.
