I'm not boycotting anything. I've bought my pass at every A-Kon for the past 4 years that I've gone. Its just with the price going up every year, I would suggest someone save money by volunteering or being a panelist (if you're lucky enough to get in). I want to see A-Kon get better. It was great in '10 but its never been that good since, in my opinion.

No one MADE him pay for it, it was already purchased by him after I told him what I thought about the convention. /co/mrade here. I watch enough anime to be a wee/a/boo as well I just never post/lurk there. Anyways, Comicpalooza in H-town is gonna be my first con in a couple weeks. I really look forward to it. I'm taking some friends with me as well. I WANT to cosplay but I don't have the frame for anything. I'm a short thick dude. Not obese just not skinny. All I can come up with is the Saints Row protag because it's generic and requires purple dress Clothes and LeFleur logos. I can do that. My friends got the perfect frame for a lot of /a/ stuff but his power level is non existent. Makes me sad yo ;_;

Also, depending how this one tickles my fancy will determine whether I'll fork over the dough for A-Kon. Gotta factor in the drive and hotels and vacation time etc. Etc. Though. I kind of want to go already not even knowing what to expect. That's what makes it fun.

So uh.... Looks like that Brett Booth SuperBoy concept won't be done in time for A-Kon. Started on the top/shirt part and got the molded polyurethane logo.... and then fucking realized I made the shirt too small. (Not for myself, but where it stretches so much I can't mount the Super emblem without it fucking breaking off). So I gotta order some more of that fabric to redo it in a bigger size so I can mount the emblem without issues.

My friend Max who owns Comic-Props gave me some awesome leftover resin Batgirl fins, belt buckle and a polyurethane chest emblem. I'm going to instead turn those all red and commission the newer Batwoman mask and do genderswap. (I know, this sounds weird because this would be the closest to Batman/Batman Beyond territory with the red logo and shit, but I like her mask so fucking much more) Pretty fucking excited. Oh, and if I go Sunday, I'll be doing Star Sapphire Lantern. Yep, fucking gay too.
