I'm assuming you want to make fursuit-style/faun legs, in which case it's best to make them with foam padding. No matter what any tutorial says, do NOT use stilts. They are dangerous, hard to make, and serve no real purpose other than making you taller.

>> No.6786822

>>6786812
Nah, not fursuit style/faun legs, like legit digilegs for an alien like look. I know I've seen some on Area 51 but jesus christ 900 dollars plus shipping is too expensive for me.

However, since you say no stilts, would those ones on Area 51 count as them, I'm guessing? Does anyone have any stories about them making them/using them and the like? I know taller is a thing I DEFINITELY need, since I would like to do some tall cosplays because I'm five feet tall exact and i'm an adult

>> No.6786828

>>6786822
Yeah, area 51 digilegs count as stilts, but those should be relatively save to use, although they do put a strain to your back. But if you really want to make stilts, I ain't stopping you. Just make sure they are durable and you don't fall while using them.

Maybe around 3 months, more if it's complicated or uses new techniques I haven't used, less if it's simple. Even longer if it's something big, like a full suit of armor. What were you thinking of cosplaying?

It also depends on how fast you work/how much time you can actually spend out of a week working on it. If you have no job or school, probably not long. If you work 24 hours maybe 2 days a week to work on it, 40 hours 1 day a week of just actual work.

I start on new costumes 2 weeks after my pervious con, and take it at a slow pace so I don't have to rush things. I've noticed if I don't feel like sewing, my sewing gets sloppy, or if I do it too long. I'm lucky if I have all my costumes done by 3 weeks before the con (I usually do 1 for each day), then spend those 3 weeks packing and talking to friends about their costumes.
