Heartwarming story time:

He was too old to play Peter (or looking too old, anyway) and decided not to come back after his contract expired. As for working for True Enchantment... party companies pay MUCH, MUCH better than Disney. I don't know what True Enchantment pays, specifically, but since it's based in LA I would imagine at least $200 for a few hours of work. At least. And that doesn't include tips.

It is true that some cast members, face character and otherwise, are not happy with the decision. The reason for this is that a) some Disney cast members really do not like knock-off Disney character companies but mostly b) Traci Hines is nuts and pisses off people with her tendency to ~show off~ when she comes to the Disney parks by talking in her ~princess voice~ and posing like a face character, etc. Not to mention that she's lied to people and said the company is affiliated with Disney before.

Well the movie was more of a hero gets the girl kind of story. There wasn't much royalty aside from the gods. Aside from maybe Zeus (been awhile since I've seen the movie) I don't think it was ever mentioned. Plus Meg, unlike Mulan, never got the princess like transformation. She was just the sexy and sassy lady of the hour.

They only use the character names for classic stories. That's why it's "Toy Cowgirl" and not Jesse, Prince Ryder instead of Flynn Ryder, Little Mermaid instead of Ariel, etc.

If Disney wanted to, they could shut them down, for other reasons.

But Disney gets a decent amount of runoff revenue from party companies (because guess what parents HAVE to do if their kid is having a Cinderella party? go out and buy Disney plates, napkins, gift bags, presents, etc) and they also get good publicity when they do charity work etc since people assume Disney is the one doing it.

Depends on the family. Some families hire party princesses because they can't afford a trip to Disneyland, so it's "the next best thing" to save up to have Cinderella come to their kid's party.

I put my annual pass to good use and Headed to Disneyland yesterday. It stirred up some fond memories for me...I hadn't interacted with a face character in years but this thread made me want to again.

See when I was a little girl I loved Belle and Ariel but Belle was by far my favorite. I had a little blue and white Dress I wore ALL the time and my mom took me to disneyland one day so we could "see her." I was so excited to see Belle I think I cried a little on the way there out of excitement I was very very young...Young enough to be in a stroller and need a little help walking (I distinctly remember falling down a lot as my mom and I ran to the entrance as the park opened.

She didn't have much money- My mom I mean, she had me very young so this was a big thing- anyway, we searched the park up and down but Belle didn't seem to be anywhere and I was starting to get a little disappointed but kept keeping my hopes up in ...pretty much denial lol that we'd still see her.

It was starting to get later in the day and things were winding down when my mom spotted Ariel and brought me over to her. She was sitting on her seashell in the little grotto that used to be near tomorrow land and there was no line so she rushed me up to see her. I was a little shy and hiding but my mom forced me up and Ariel sat me on her lap- keeping in character all the while.

"what's this!" she exclaimed pretending to me mesmerized by an ice cream wrapper I had in my hand. She proceeded to examine it and ask me what it was? like "is it...a hat!" putting it on her head "Or maybe a Whatchamacallit!?"

She totally brought me out of my shell, up until then I don't think I had ever laughed that hard in my life and she really took the time to make my day have a magical Disney moment in it...We played like that for at least ten to twenty minutes and I left her with a big hug. We never got to see Belle but after that Ariel was my favorite. I made sure to take a picture with her at fantasy faire last time just to commemorate that moment.

I think most of theoutfit could easily be adapted from commercial patterns. That's just a basic trapezoid skirt, a puffy-sleeved blouse, and a bustier.
