Yeah I attempted to work out a trade with her. But I was given a very strange answer 'I'm speaking on behalf of my friend who is probably buying it from me' so I didn't persue it, I simply told her to have her friend send me a message if she wanted to trade. I didn't understand the logic, if her friend wants the tiered but is buying the normal to trade with me, why wouldn't I just trade with the original buyer, then her friend can buy the tiered off her? Oh well haha. Maybe it wasn't as weird as I am making it out to be and I was being overly cautious. But I see she still hasn't sold it and I never received any more messages.

young lolita =/= bad

I'm glad my community is so kind and welcoming, but it scares me when I read how so many people on /cgl/ believe that anyone below at least 18 is automatically an ita.

Itas are itas because they already have no fashion sense, and often no idea of personal hygiene. Even in normal clothes.

I watched and waited for a very long time before even attempting my first coordinate. I don't have a steady income so therefore I'm not just going to mooch off my parents all the time. But I really do appreciate the few pieces I have from birthday or Christmas money, I'm proud of my few co-ords so far, and I work just as hard as anybody to build a respectable wardrobe. They're not poor; they just fucking cheap, and their predictable povertyfagging goes hand-in-hand with other obnoxious personality traits.

So there's a core group of us who go ahead and plan meetups at decent restaurants anyway, because we know it'll keep them away. There are only so many free outings in the park we can do before it gets really fucking old.

Nope, although I hate flat shoes in general. Where lolita is concerned, they tend to either be too plain or look like somebody's taken some normal shoes and chopped the heel off. Lolitas with chronic illnesses who take every opportunity to make it a big deal or play the martyr because "no one considered [their] needs" in planning meets.

I've got issues of my own, but I don't expect a group of 35+ people to change meet-up plans last minute because I'm not familiar with the restaurant's menu in advance. You adapt. It's part of learning to cope. I mean, if the people who did this were wheelchair bound and the venues selected didn't have access, I could understand the rage. But seriously. Most restaurants accommodate all kinds of crazy food allergies and dietary requirements if you tell the server when you order about them.

Hell, virtually every place I've been in the last month, short of a whole in the wall uyghur place, has a vegan section, a vegetarian section AND a gluten free section. If you can't find something in those sections or the rest of the menu that fits your needs, maybe you should consider packing your own food for meets.

Why are you being so willfully ignorant? For some people major weight loss (and no, not just losing 10 pounds, more like 80+) is a psychological challenge as well as a physical one. If it were so easy to change then there would be no such thing as nutritionists, psychologists, gastro surgeons, and trainers who specialize in helping the severely overweight and obese.

Stop being such a cunt and roping every person into one stereotype.

Sometimes I feel like people are bending over backwards to make food I can eat for events and stuff and it makes me feel so fucking guilty. I would willingly handle my own shit at just about any restaurant or meetup.

However there have been times when I've been told that it's covered for me and I believed them and didn't pack my own food (which I usually do) and then when I got there I basically got some fruit in a bowl. This so much. I lost a chunk of weight myself and at first it was just learning and using some basic nutrition like, pasta isn't actually good for you, eat more veggies, dessert isn't a meal, don't give in to every temptation you come across. The next step was harder and one I fight pretty much every day. I nearly completely eliminated carbs and sweets from my diet. Every time holiday candy goes on the sale day after, it pretty much kills me to not buy all the bags of my favorite candies. I stupidly walk through the freezer isle at the grocery store and end up grabbing a frozen pizza or ice cream, then I feel like I have to eat it fast to get it out of my house to not temp me, then I end up wanting to buy more. There's vicious cycles that start when I give in to temptation and I will noticeably gain weight within a week.

My point is, people act like losing weight is the only struggle when in fact no, maintaining it is just as hard. I's annoying when people say I'm lucky for being thin, no bitch, I worked for this and I continue to work every day for it. I wish my struggle was just to eat smaller bowls of ice cream and skip the Snickers. Instead I almost never eat pasta, or rice, and I never drink sweetened drinks, not even juice, milk, or sugar in my tea.

In the end though, it's all worth it. I look great in clothing, and doing stuff doesn't make me so tired since I'm not dragging around extra weight.

It makes me feel like a retard when I spend so much time on my hair and no one seems to appreciate it in my comm. They clearly give me the feeling that wigs became the standard and that I should feel out of place with my old fashioned real hair.

Aww, thank you!

A couple dieting tips for you if you're interested. I use to eat pasta every single day, it's my favorite. I hope your weakness is red sauce like me so this can work for you. I started throwing a lot of cooked veggies like zucchini, squash, carrots, and onions in to my pasta so I would eat more veggies and less pasta. Eventually I ended up pretty much with veggies in red sauce with a little pasta and at that point I felt weened from my pasta addiction. It's really useful to just start cooking veggies on their own so when you cut the carbs, you're familiar with simple veggie dishes.

For the sweets, and really most any carb, look up paleo recipes. All the flour and other grains get replaced with things like coconut, nuts, and flax so carbs and sweet treats actually become nutritionally packed. You still have to eat in some moderation because the sweets have some sugar still, but in the end, delicious cookies are no worse than eating lightly sweetened nuts.

Oh and other than walking about 15 minutes to and from work, I don't have any extra exercise in my diet. Dieting really is the big part of losing weight.

Hope that helps!

You guys are missing the fucking point of my post. Weight loss isn't some weird mysticism, nutrition isn't magic, all of that shit I posted was motherfucking science.

Weight loss is a product of expending more energy than you take in. Your BMR is the amount of calories your body needs in a day if you don't move at all. You factor in the actual amount of exercise you do and adjust your intake so that you eat X number of calories a day and you expend Y. Y being > than X.

It's not rocket science. If you're not eating less than you expend you ARE NOT attempting weight loss. You're doing the exact opposite.

A very small amount.
Obesity caused from eating disorders is a blip in the data, same with legit medical conditions that cause obesity and weight gain. The vast majority is from being raised not knowing how to eat, over-eating, eating too much junk food, etc. An eating disorder is not just having a craving like I'm sure many think it is. Like stated, even those who are thin still crave fat and junk, it's just a matter of giving in or not. In reality, if a person who is trying to lose weight drinks soda or eats chips (two items that are overly consumed and provide no nutritional value), then they really aren't trying. I'm not talking about you here, I'm talking about why we have an entire isle or two in most every grocery store dedicated to these items.

Different anon but the only eating disorder that could cause a huge amount of weight gain is binge eating which like all eating disorders is a control issue as well as a compulsive disorder. Only 2% of people are estimated to have this.
Then you have the very very very rare genetic disorders like prader willi syndrome (estimated to be less than 2%) that will almost make it impossible to be slim.
So I'm going to be generous and say besides the 3 1/2% of people who have sincere compulsive/genetic disorders really don't have much of an excuse. Yes. I understand that candy bars taste good. It's more a lack of belief that anything is actually going to happen. I ate a calorie deficit and walked every day, with cardio every 2-3 days for 4 months, I'm down almost 30 lbs, and I'm basically going to have to do this shit, including not buying any new clothes, not eating anything I enjoy eating, and never getting to do anything fun at all forever.

Correlation does not equal causation! The weight gain isn't caused by the medication, the medication just makes it easier for you to gain weight. If you exercise and watch your diet it wont magically add on pounds.

I know about difficult to lose weight. Anons got a little butthurt earlier when I said I was a "super skinny" but I'm a thin girl with PCOS and there was a time when I was almost overweight. I still lost 20 lbs because I worked at it despite the fact that my body in particular tends to retain excess weight.

So even though I have a condition I could whinge about and say "oh this is why I'm fat I can't help it," I never ever ever EVER said that.

It's not your medical condition that makes you fat, it's your medical condition that makes it easier for you to become fat but YOU can take steps to prevent that.

I was at 201 pounds by September.

Unfortunately I get super depressed during the fall and winter seasons, I'm stuck in the house a lot. This winter was particularly bad. I'm back up to 240 again from being 208 in september. It truly is awful. I went to get my depo shot the other day and the new male gyno in there said "So, have you ever thought of getting on a treadmill?" I didn't say anything but I was like, wow.

But despite this I was able to qualify for a lap band recently. I had to prove that I've been struggling with my weight for over five years, I even had to show them documentation from when I did weightwatchers. So I'm hoping this coupled with some therapy will help control some of my depression and binge eating.

Oh come on, you're not even making any sense here. She said that's not ENOUGH exercise and she's right. That's just over twenty minutes of walking a day and that's not going to do anything for anyone unless it's accompanied by extreme dieting, in which case the exercise is still pretty pointless because you're dieting that seriously. I'm reminded of a story some kind of nutrionist or personal trainer or something posted here once, about a girl who was too weak to hit the gym but started using a dance mat to play all her Playstation games so that she'd be getting a lot of exercise daily in a way that didn't put too much stress on her joints and was fun. Something like that is going to do a lot more for you than just walking.

Bitches don't know about Seroquel and other anti-psychotics
I was on a 1300 calorie diet and exercised four times a week and a month later I was thirty pounds heavier. I could visually see the weight gain from day to day. Then I went off of it and lost the weight and more after 6 months. I would say that most medications don't instantaneously make you gain weight, but anti-psychotics are the exception.

I was also on Seroquel at one point as well, Anon. I am a really tiny girl and I have a very small appetite (no more than 2 small meals a day is usually enough for me), I'm 5 ft and 90 lbs normally. But when I was on it I gained about 30 lbs in 6 months or so just from it increasing my appetite. When I went off of it I lost all of the weight because I went back to having my normal food cravings, it was so weird. But I can definitely see how if I stayed on it for any longer I would have gained a lot more weight for sure.

The idiot replica supporters who can't for the life of them understand why people are anti-replica and chalk it all up the us just being elitists with no valid reasons. Note I'm not talking about all replica supporters, just the imbeciles who somehow don't get the reasons against them.

AP fans who can't admit some of that shit looks like straight up age play. I'm a self-admitted AP clone, but if you seriously try to look me in the eye and say dresses like Toy Parade aren't age play worthy, you're in denial. That doesn't necessarily mean they're not cute or that you shouldn't wear them, just don't get so defensive and try so hard to deny what it looks like to the outside world.

Tea parties. Instantly ruin any coord for me.

Girls who get massive followings, but have no originality, just a shit ton of brand sets.

The idea that to be a lolita you have to act like one. Luckily only newfags tend to have this mentality.

The idea that there's no rules in lolita and that those who follow them are elitist bitches. Again, only newfags think it, but it's still annoying.

Just because it's "age play worthy" doesn't mean you can't coord it in a way that makes you look 12. Cadney frequently wears super sweet prints but still looks like a young woman, not a child.

besides, age players tend to have no fashion sense. easy to tell the difference between ageplay and lolita. you actually have to try to make a good lolita outfit.

And I hate the idea of "acting like a lolita" too, holy shit. My friends and I go to meets and talk about whatever we want and swear as much as we like, we don't change who we are just because we're wearing nice clothes.

Agreed with the brand sets too, so boring. Mix it up with the accessories or it just makes you look like an ad for the brand. Bland, bland, bland.

Gothic can, sometimes- I had a teacher once tell me I looked like a dour Victorian girl when I was wearing what was, purposely, a coord modeled after that exact aesthetic, with a brimmed hat and a pinafore style dress.

The aesthetic can go girlish in any style, or more mature, it definitely depends WHAT you're wearing. A more mature rococo-styled sweet outfit is a lot less girlish than say a Toy Parade one, or heck any dress with a less defined waist, more pinafore-like dress; a classic outfit can go mature like >>6769216 (imo a blazer really helps take any outfit out of 'little girl' zone), and like I said gothic can too.

I'm fat, and I've been fat a loooong time. I've yoyoed 80lbs up and down, and my body is probably wrecked from dieting. The closest I have ever been, in my adult life, to a healthy weight, I had been eating 500 calories a day for months, and I was essentially malnourished. I was losing hair, thinking about food 110% of the time (as in dreaming about breaking my diet every night), and sleeping 18 hours a day.

Basically what I am saying, is holy shit does it suck to have people act like this when they have no idea what it's like to be disgustingly fat and be completely unable to get it off.

My boyfriend is not a lolita, or a dandy. He is a gamer and a little fluffy, but he dresses nicely, holds himself well and, I can comfortably say after 5 years, has a genuine interest in lolita fashion and a really good eye for quality, brands, prints, ext.
Anyways, his room mate is a nice guy... but no job, no car, freshman in college, wears band t-shirts and ripped jeans with a fedora, you get the drift. He's a kid in college.
Most all of the active girls in our comm are either married and or young professionals, working jobs in offices or in the medical field.

It is one thing to say it in a positive light. For example, "Well, you have a lot of beautiful clothes! You are thinner than most the girls in the comm! You just got that new job with good pay!"
But lifting someone up is very different than putting someone down.
"Oh, so your dress got a stain? Well there are starving children in Africa!" .........

"Check your privilege" my bloomers.

>Threads already derailed?
So this justifies your derailing it even further after you've been complaining this entire time about derailing?
Fuck you are dense.
>gravel in your clit
And I suppose you would know all about having the sweet Sahara brew in yours, glad to see I'm dealing with an expert.

It takes two anon. I'm not justifying anything, just responding to you. You're still being very dramatic about nothing.
>entire time
Going on 10 minutes or so..
>dense
No, just calmly responding to you. Nothing I've said was dense. Really though, go look at pretty dresses and cheer up sis. I think this threads ruined your night.

I can show them the world. Didn't realise that stating the thread may get deleted due to arguments (its happened) would spark a rage boner.

I just saw this on AP USA's facebook page. It bothers me when ladies like this complain about brand being impossibly small and made for tiny size 00 Japanese children and not for "real women". Most of the major brands, especially AP, are pretty accommodating with their sizing. Half-shirred items fit around 100-110 cm in the bust, which is like a US size 12 or 14. That size is far from unreasonable imo.

Terms like "curvy" and "real women" grind my gears too, but that's not lolita-specific.

I'm fat and even these posts bug me. The clothes aren't for everyone, and is something everyone should know. They're marketed for Japanese girls who are chubby. If you can't fit the thing get it tailored or buy accessories if you really want to support the brand.

Just because you can directly talk to a brand doesn't mean you have to spaghetti your weight problems to them and bring out insecurities. There's a huge difference between asking what dresses fit bigger people and making comments about "curves".

You're not the only one.
