'I have noticed that some people believed HS would end on 4/13/13, though I never said that it would. Even if the story appeared to be on the precipice of resolution (which it wasn't), these rumors could be debunked for one simple reason. Animation takes A LOT of time. You've got to expect a story like this would end with some sort of big animation, right? I can't make those without suspending all updates completely for a good while. Trust me, the end to this won't sneak up on anyone. It will be really obvious when it's on the way.
TLDR; Act 6 Act 6 is next. This is Homestuck's final push. But before I start on it, I'll be taking a very significant hiatus to work on the game. '

Overall it was a pretty good meet up, there's usually minor drama at London meet-ups but this time everyone was very relaxed and it was all pretty good. Would have been more people apparently but most are saving up their money for the London MCM Expo at this point.

Phillystuck was poorly run. The girl who ran it had no idea what she was doing. They charged money because she wanted to buy pizza for the group, and then she ended up taking half of the people to McDonalds (I didn't want to get kicked out so I stayed behind, there were too many people going at once) but later apologized and ordered the pizza. No other event has charged money for attendance so that pissed a few people off. The girl who was running it was kind of really bitchy the whole time and acted like she was hot shit imo.
Other than her, everyone was sweet. Pretty weebish, but well behaved. There were some good cosplayers (Several good Roses, nice Tavros, a cute Kanaya, a fantastic Vriska, etc.) but most of it was closet or casual attire (I went out of cosplay). It was supposed to be "Prom" but this event was so poorly run I can't even bring myself to call it a Prom meetup.

And since we're on the topic of 413 meetups, I didn't really attend any but I was hearing about drama going down on facebook for Jerseystuck.

Apparently a 10 year old tried to run a Homestuck meetup after attending another one earlier, and got upset when no one came to hers. She also tried to have it at a strict mall, I think Rockway or Rockwell? Then she's planning another meetup at an even stricter mall. I'd feel bad for her because of her age, but from what I've heard and seen she seems pretty awful, especially considering her age. It's like she's hitting the petty tumblr drama 6 years early.

I think it's because she's spoiled. She acts pretty self entitled to a lot of things, and even got mad at someone when they said she couldn't have one of their wigs or borrow their lolita dresses. She also has brand lolita dresses (keeping in mind she's 10). I also hear she isn't well liked in New Jersey's lolita comm either, but I'm not a lolita so I can't really get into that too much.

As someone who has organised some things (in and out HS) with smaller attendance but is kind of moving towards bigger groups, I have to ask what you as a mod can do when it comes to these kinds of people?
If we are in a public space, is it possible to ask them to leave since there is no actual law or anything that says they can't be there? If we're in say a café would it be possible to ask staff for help if they are causing too much trouble?
I have yet to encounter these kinds of people, but I fear for the day they will appear that I am not sure how to deal with it other than talk to them.

The first step is to actually speak with the people causing trouble. No one ever does because they fall back on the "Well how can I actually make them stop/leave?" deal like you're asking.

Don't be shy or timid or apologetic. Stop them as they start and say that hey, this isn't the venue for that. They're reflecting fandom, they're reflecting on themselves. Behave in public as, well, anyone would. Remind them there are younger people there, and that to keep that in mind when it comes to how they act.

A lot of the times this will make them sullen and broody, but hey, they'll shut up and maybe even leave early. If that doesn't work, approach them on tumblr as well (don't be an anon weenie) and let them know if they keep it up, they'll no longer be welcome at meets.

If they keep fucking up, tell them they're banned. Make sure there are other people with you that tell you the same thing and let them know they aren't welcome. They're only hang around if they feel like they're wanted (or really dumb).

Lastly, if they stay and keep showing up, just publicly call them out on the comm blog. Say so and so is no longer welcome because of x antics, have other people in the comm who are respected reblog it.

Embarrass them enough that they won't show up anymore.

Yeah I agree on that point. The Eaton's Centre is NOT the place to be holding cosplay meetups. It's crowded enough as it is, and when you add dozens of cosplayers into the mix, it's no wonder people want to kick them out. The meetup I went to was in the Skywalk, and it was okay. A group of people left to go to Roundhouse, which was probably for the best since apparently a bunch of drama went down. Everyone ended up splintering into a few different groups, but again, it was probably for the best because nobody seemed to really know what was going on and it caused a lot of chaos.
