Wigs: The purple one is like the picture, except all the bangs are super long, the length of the hime-cut bangs. I guess I'm supposed to cut it myself. It's a really flattering color on me. It's moderately shiny, what you'd expect because it's a costume/party type wig. It didn't shed.

Makeup brushes: The short fluffy brush is nice. The set is also nice, but pretty heavy if you're trying to save on shipping. There are also way more brushes than I need. But they have a good balance of softness and being not too floppy. They're all marked MAC.

Jeweled tights: I only got pink since navy was out of stock. These suck! They were stuck to the cardboard wrapper and there was a line that was stained dark gray with a tiny hole. This was right at the knee, too. They're lighter than they seem in the picture, like little girl ballet tights. They're also very small. I know people say you need thin legs to wear tights from taobao, but I figured I'd be safe since I'm 5'0". Nope! The crotch was 6" too low. So I guess I won't order other tights to replace the damaged ones!

Origami papers: Good. I didn't receive the non-sparkly lucky star papers, and I just realized it. That's pretty annoying. The transparent square papers just came in a random color. Let me know if you want links.
Lace: Really nice! The heart lace looks a little thick and rustic. Like it won't work for lolita clothes, but that's not the only thing I sew. The daisies are cute, and the bow lace is good quality.

Cream underskirt: Very pretty. I think this will wrinkle really easily, but that's because it's an all-natural fiber. The waist is tight at the larger end of its measurements, but still okay. On the inside, one of the elastic channels wasn't sewn properly at the edge, so it showed elastic. That doesn't seem to be something that'll break. This shop is gone now, but they sell this and the other mori-type clothes other places.
Patchwork pocket dress: I got this in brown. It's cute, but I didn't realize the weird crochet bows looked so prominent. It looks totally normal in the pics with the model, but they're strange irl. Easy to snip off if I decide I really hate them. The sleeves are probably more like 7/8 sleeves. It would look weird to wear this without an underskirt because even at my height it hits barely mid-thigh. But it's really great layered. This is also from the shop that's gone. Brown dress with gingham ruffle I thought I got in navy: Nope, I got it in brown. The page changed between when I confirmed and when I paid. It's also very cute, and has the same short-ish sleeves and short length. This one would look fine without an underskirt, though. It's a sweater, which isn't obvious in the pictures. It's from the store that's gone.
3-color scarf: This is backed with cable-knit sweater material. I was hoping to use it all spring, so that's a pain. It's fucking adorable, though. From the shop that's gone, but I haven't seen it elsewhere.

Even Chinese people don't buy makeup in China, it may be fake or full of things that shouldn't be actually put on your face. Good quality make up is more expensive, sometimes even in comparison to other countries. Many save money and go to Korea to buy makeup. They're rarely opened on either end. From what I've been reading, the packages being opened in China right now are US-bound only due to the new Chairman's upcoming visit to the US. Show of good faith, etc. etc. You should be just fine so long as you don't have anything liquid in there or electronic with a battery. Even then, UK-bound packages are likely to just face a customs fee rather than being destroyed. I've only heard two nightmare stories of items being removed and they were both in the US.

Nah, I understand. My orders are typically huge, since I amass them over the span of a couple of months. That much money is a big deal and something worth worrying over. But just remember that the risk is always there, whether you're spending $20 or $2000 on things.

Back in the really old taobao threads, there were screenshots of buy china's emailing anon about fake orders. This was quite a long time ago...if I remember correctly, before there were all these links in the OP post. I don't think there was "general" taobao threads yet just the occasional one.

What's been spread on /cgl/ is really old news. I'm not defending buy china but just pointing it out.

I've noticed from Taobaoring taking way too fucking long confirming orders, that some of the items I'm buying became out of stock from the gold crown stores.

Nope, that listing just became out of stock. When an item reaches 1,000 reviews or so (I remember, I looked through the first 20 pages of reviews), I guess they have to make a new listing so more reviews may be put down.

That listing I go to previously just takes me to a "No item listing/no shop" page, but it doesn't mean no one has ever bought the item! They had to make a new page for the item, and I don't know where all of the previous reviews from the same item went. But I do know they had well over 1,000 reviews.

Just something to think about. I've noticed this with a few higher-rated stores.

Hell, I've seen diamond stores with items having HUNDREDS of reviews. I don;t know how much it takes to upgrade from 6-7 diamonds to a crown.

what I did was when I called my bank I got them to make a note on my account that I frequently bought items overseas from the website and it has been OK since (Navy fed)

I really don't get this.

I placed an order with Taobaospree, and paid a total of 2200 HKD including Service fee and Paypal fee

Now I added 5 items to my order, for a total of 800 HKD, but the amount TBS says I should pay is 1200HKD with the fees. The fee is 292HKD, but that is for the total order and not just for the additional items.

I emailed them and got this response

They're really cute! The bear stuff came out exactly as pictured. I'm kinda scared of using them because I really don't want them to get dirtied, LOL. I chose the most random color for the globe thing but they're all really cute color combinations so I didn't really mind. The one I got was a pink yellow blue gradiation and I chose the "盛夏(粉紫较多)" option. Note that the chain for it is really thin, which I personally really like.
The rabbit ring isn't true to picture in a way. It's still really cute, but in the picture the face looks a bit...sculpted? Like it actually has shape but the one I got is just a sphere head with some features needled into it. I notice that the nose is a bit higher than the one in the picture. It's still really cute though, ngl. The ring is adjustable.

I believe the items are made to order since I had to wait 10 days for the rabbit ring to be made but it might have just been me.

Exactly as pictured. It feels sturdy and it's lined with some really cheap looking fabric but there's no harm in it.
