Yeah, the Feferi. There was drama because she wrote a shitty script that was mostly Feferi and Eridan flirting with each other (even though iirc there was a rule of no shipping questions), and several named cosplayers tried to make it better and ended up rewriting the entire script, and when the panel actually happened a lot of people were really confused because of lack of communication. The Feferi slipped under the radar for a while, hiding in the TF2 fandom, and is starting to slowly get back into Homestuck.

You can't get a good Dirk wig without lots of styling, end of story. For a Dave wig that requires minimal styling, you'd need a chin length wig with layers/feathering, and rough fibres that will hold tufts when swept around. Those kinds of wigs usually aren't cheap.

It didn't become apparent to a lot of the panelists until a week or two before the con that the girl running it had no idea what she was doing- at which point, a lot of people jumped ship, which just made it even worse for everyone who stayed on. That, along with poor communication, the whole not-enough-microphones/malfunctioning microphones business, and the...somewhat poor questions on the part of the audience, made it into probably the worst panel that I've had anything to do with. I no longer participate in panels if I don't know/know of the person running it.

Honestly, while some of the kids were obnoxious, most of the outlandish stories you've heard are bullshit and/or have never ever been traced to a legit source. I dealt with some shitty teens (the usual WOW YOU'RE WEIRD NERDS shit) but I also met a bunch who were genuinely curious and respectful of Katsu. From what I remember people were upset with the gaylord for double booking events. Originally the jews had the gazebo floor and some other popular photo spots. People bitched until the lines were redrawn.

The jew staffers were unfriendly and for some reason blocked the flow of traffic on the gazebo floor one evening. The jewish teens just looked confused and unhappy to see cosplayers.

The Jewish youth group that was there was BBYO (B'nai B'rith Youth Organiation), and while I personally didn't have any interactions with them, I did have a couple of friends who were harassed (rude remarks, and the hat stolen off a Lil' Cal as they went past). On the other hand, I also know that a lot of Katsucon attendees that were harassing the BBYO teens- remarks like "Hitler should have finished the job" and such. So basically both parties had individuals that were being shits to each other.

Also- and I think that this may be the tumblriest thing I am ever going to say, but- can I ask that the BBYO kids be referred to as just that- BBYO- rather than referring to them as "the Jews"? I used to Roleplay as AR on a panfandom game thing. It was the most fun I ever had roleplaying... but about two months Cascade I lost all interest in roleplaying as him. How does it hardly resemble her? The bangs? Beyond that, it's just little details that the cosplayer decided to mess around with, and they end up looking both good and still recognizable.

I think they all looked great, but almost nobody of them hemmed. Especially the Eridan and the Gamzee. Loose threads everywhere. The Vriska, Karkat and Equius were my favorites, they had the best put together cosplay, even tho the Equius kinda missed the color a bit?? I read earlier that being a God Tier heals all previous injuries, so that means Equius's horns should be full here, and the colour was not missed a bit, it was missed a lot. Now that I look at it, the shirt looks like it's from the What Pumpkin store, which is known to have some inaccurately coloured shirts. I know Breath and now Void are inaccurately coloured for certain, and I read that Hope was apparently inaccurately coloured as well.
