wahoo Toronto! Nice to see someone representing. Sadly I'm West Coast based, but I do go out of my way to Attend Katsucon in Washington DC. 2014 will be my 4 or 5th year. I actually like the Gundam scene on the East Coast more-- the West Coast is really trend happy and a lot of older series (not just Gundam) don't get a lot of love in cosplay...

If you're going to Katsucon drop by the convention forums, I haunt all the "Gundam Gathering" threads like no body's business. This past Katsucon I wore Judau and Banagher's school outfit, but I'm working on a few newer things for Unicorn. I have too many Gundam cosplays and I bring them back whenever I see possibility of a group, even just duos.

Don't me bummed, there are actually TONS of G Gundam fans and I know a few cosplayers who bring it back to AX year after year.. it's just that even if they have the cos a lot choose to bring newer/trendier costumes to big cons like AX and Fanime.

But for sure, AX has a good mix of surprises! There was a really beautiful Cristina (pilot suit even!) in 2010, I fangirled so hard.

Not sure what's going on this year, but I do know people are trying for a huge Macross revival for AX 2013 because of the macross 30th anniversary game.. (I saw at least 15 people in the cast, various different series, until I noticed no one was actually set for Hikaru! then I signed up...)

I am bringing something Gundam to Fanime 2013 though.. but not sure what yet.
