Quick question for all the more knowledgeable lolitas on what I should buy. I plan to buy this dress as my very first lolita purchase on my own (I have a few things but they're mostly hand-me-downs from a friend of mine that quit lolita about a year ago) and I was wondering which petticoat I should buy that would be best for the dress I'm buying:

This one:
http://item.taobao.com/item.htm?id=10292662400

Or this one:
http://item.taobao.com/item.htm?spm=a1z10.1.w302901031.24.oipSGK&id=4433321628

or neither?

Taobaotrends: Do they combine domestic shipping?

Also, I have no idea where they got 23yuan for domestic shipping when the fucking bow (it's a HAIRCLIP) is 6yuan. Are they still gonna charge 23yuan for that shit? I mean part of the reason I got away from Taobaoring was so I wouldn't have to pay 15yuan per domestic shipping store since I order small shit which is usually 5-10yuan domestic ship.

>> No.6714075

>>6714068
Every taobao agent combines domestic shipping as far as I know

Honestly if you don't understand why shipping from a certain store is so expensive you could just email and confront them about it, to see what the issue is

>> No.6714078

Well another reason is because I want to order 20 items from the same store, except they automatically add another 15 or more yuan to the domestic shipping when I add it to my cart.

Two questions.

I'm super paranoid about an item on Taobao selling out before I can buy it.
How long does it usually take for an SS to get back to you with a quote after you submit your item request?
And is it bad practice to request the same set of items from a bunch of SSs and just pay whoever gets back to you fastest? From my understanding they don't actually order anything until you pay, so I don't think they'd really lose money, just a little time from contacting the seller.

I'm worried that I'll go with one SS and they'll take way too long and my dress will go out of stock blarg

>> No.6714089

>>6714083
It depends on the SS. Some are backed up (like tbr) so they take longer while others don't.

It is bad practice to do that. They probably will get annoyed by you if you continually do that (and MAYBE at some point blacklist you). I would if I were to run a SS with some people.

Taobaotrends conversion rate is higher and the bigger order you make, the more that will fuck you over. Especially since they do the 15yuan flat domestic shipping like Taobaoring.

S & M is my size too. For indie brands, I like Infanta because their stuff usually is longer than other brands. You could ask your SS to message Infanta (lemonxx) and ask them if they are going to restock either? I don't really understand reservation/stock stuff, I just buy stuff when I see that the listing is up.

Indie brands don't show up much on the comm sales, especially with the newer released. When Marshmallow Bunny came out from AP, I didn't see someone selling it until many months later. And even then, I've only seen 3 people selling it. I will never be able to fit into AP because it's made for shorter people. Even Bodyline fucks me over lol. Their busts end up being at my lower neck and my real bust ends up being where the waist's dress is. That's why I'm so conscious of my money, especially in lolita. My height. And underskirts DO NOT help when a dress is seriously made for someone much shorter than me, because adding length to the skirt isn't the only issue at hand.

With gyaru type clothes, I've ordered a few in the past. My first order consisted entirely of gyaru clothes. Not a single one fit. All of the long sleeves ended up above my wrist and the length ended at my belly button. The hoods on things never fit because I'm so much taller. Skirts always end up never actually being a skirt, and same with dresses because shit ends up being way too short.

So yeah, it is a bitch. And having DoL/Oo Jia custom make the length to 100cm ends up looking HORRIBLE because no petticoat is that large or long to fit that far.

Hm. I might have to ask, but I was planning on going through Clobbaonline since I'm not going to make a huge order.

Infanta is actually my favorite indie brand because of the more goth feel it can have and the cut of their dresses. But whenever Infanta pops up on the sales comm, it's always the classic stuff, which is super frustrating.

I'm actually horribly short (5' 2") but I still freak out about sizing, just trying to figure out if stuff will be too long or too short, or if the measurements are accurate, or if the waist is low enough to accommodate my long torso. I hate buying stuff on line, but I want Power and Throne, as well as the entire Snow White collection so bad.

if only I could try the dresses on.

I'm trying to buy this dress. It says that pre-order is until the 30th and I tried to go through TaobaoRing. But when I messaged James about getting this order confirmed, he sent back this:

"We've contacted with the seller and they cannot guarantee the time, because many buyers have order/preorder from their store. They only said, it's preorder and we needs wait 30-40days. If you cannot wait, you can choose another one, but if from this seller(yes, good quality), still should wait 30-40days."

I have a question about the customs and decimating brand things. How fucked would I be if I bought some film for my instant camera. I just wanted some cute border film for my instax camera instead of just plain white background. And the only place I found it in the USA charged 25-30 for a ten pack.

Since its fuji I don't want my whole package to be decimated over one thing, but at the same time. Fuji has a global license and instax film is hard to get in the US that isn't white. Would it just be a safe bet just to buy one and a few other things and test it out that way, instead of buying a whole lot at once?

Also if it does matter I use taobaonow

I was too stupid to take a picture of everything before I unboxed it, but here's pt 1.

I used Taobaoring. My agent was Sydney.
I had my first payment on March 8th, had all of the items delivered by the 19th (some stores were slower then they usually were, for whatever reason). The items were paid for on the 19th, and they arrived today.

1. Skirt and Shirt from Tao Tao Mumu.
Although I ordered the skirt in a medium, it came in a large. Because of this, the straps are rather long, about 5" longer where they button in then I would like, but that's probably a problem with my shipping service.
The shirt is kind of itchy, and the fabric is rough and wrinkles a lot on both the items, but that's nothing that was opposed in the listing, the items look overall like the images, and aren't bad.

2. Inori wig from Ghost Cos
Very soft, smooth, doesn't seem to tangle at all. It's pretty thick for a taobao wig, and the colors are pretty accurate. I'm really impressed with this wig overall

3. Asuka Hat from Fantasy Sheep
I remember seeing a lot of negative comments about this one? It seems pretty well constructed to me; I was really surprised that it was of decent quality, after hearing all of the negative reviews, and even seeing some images. The shape and ears are nice, and my only complain are that the pins are of cheap quality, and really difficult to put on it.

pt. 2
Shimapan and Sukumizu from Hope.
The Shimapan only came in one size, and don't have the size listed, so it was kind of worrying getting them. Thankfully they fit me. The blue one came a LOT more turquoise then pictured, but otherwise, both are accurate to the image.
The sukumizu was probably the most dissapointing piece that I recieved. The only sizes there were were in height, so I once again had no clue about the measurements I was going off on. I'm not going to complain about being too fat that it's a little tight, although I do fit, but I do think that they should have the sizes up. The part that concerns me is that the fabric itself barely stretches, and doesn't seem like it's suited for water at all. It's not a thing I would think about wearing into the water. It's also very thin, and areolas/nipples are very visible through them, with no area to place pads. The only place it is thickened is beneath, in the crotch area, which seems to be a completely different piece sewn on.

3. Evangelion Hair Clips from Booyaa.
Came exactly as in pic, look and function well.

4. Kigurumi from dyltsy
I normally would never order from a heart store, much less one that has a 4.7 quality rating, but a friend had placed this order, then decided that she no longer wanted it, so I ended up paying for it and took it. The fabric is a lot fuzzier then in the images, and looks like it woudl pick up a lot of stray things really quickly, kind of like felt fabric. The tail is completely deflated, with almost no cotton in it, not nearly as perky as in the stock image.

>>6722302
The shirt is thin enough that you might see the shading if you, say, wore a black bra, but otherwise, they're both quite opaque. It's just like one simple layer of cotton.
