TRIM. YOUR. FEATHERS. Tooth does not have huge, fluffy feathers. Birds do not have feathers like that and especially not humming birds.

People need to learn to shape feathers for wings and feathered costumes, it may take some time but it is really not hard. A light oil mist really helps the sheen of the feathers as well, and to keep them smooth.

Overall I feel this costume was a bad execution and like Sirene just wanted to hop the bandwagon as quickly as she could. The wings and just about everything looks like she didn't put much effort in, and just cashed in on the popularity of the series... like that group usually does.

Her Katsu costumes looked totally rushed. I was disappoint.

I suppose you all here would have an idea as how to do this but, basically, attaching those pads to the shoulders of that vest. At this point I'm thinking of sewing it with fishing like or a mix of gorilla glue and some industrial strength velcrow.

How an outfit fits is normally more of a dealbreaker than face. Even when your face and build are "perfect", if what you're wearing is too baggy or too tight, it wrecks everything. Costumes that look like COSTUMES are bad. Make it fit as well as real clothes, even if it is an outfit that makes zero sense.

I think the feathers are adding "fluff bulk" to her figure as well. As was mentioned, the feathers shouldn't have been quite so fluffy. It just takes away from the sleek look that Tooth and her fairies all have since they are based off hummingbird designs.

If a real bird had maribou or "flats" for all their feathers, the aerodynamics would be absolute crap.

I have seen many times where there is some small or even large thing wrong with a costume that throws the whole thing off. I think make up and wig styling are more important than some cosplayers give it credit for. It can make a huge difference just to the way they come across, not just the costume.

But I think for people to chose cosplays based on their figure or their face shape or their looks is unfair and creeping towards 'only pretty people can cosplay'. This isn't modelling and we're not paid to do it (for the most part) and I think if someone wants to express how much they like a character by cosplaying them then good on them for putting the effort out there. That takes more guts than most give them credit for as, in a lot of cases, the ugly ones know that they're ugly. Or the fat ones know that they're fat. And part of them knows that every time they go out, in cosplay or otherwise, there are going to be people pointing after them, taking photos to laugh at later and whispering behind their hands.

Don't get me wrong, everyone is entitled to think what they think and find attractive what they find attractive. And subsequently it will effect how you view other people and other cosplayers. But from each individual cosplayers point of view...no I don't think how you look is a deciding factor in what you cosplay.

Makeup makes so much more of a difference than most cosplayers think. In all honesty, the "best"/most versatile cosplayer women are the ones with plain and often slightly mousy faces, who can use makeup to make themselves look way different. When you have really defined features it becomes harder to match yourself to the character.

A lot of amateurs don't even consider make up as a factor. In my experience people don't find out about cosplay and start breaking it all down. They go costume + wig = done and wear whatever make up they're used to wearing. Which in a lot of cases is none at all.

As much as people want to pretend that there is some deep meaning to why you choose a character, at the end of the day, all good cosplayers are good strictly because of the way they look in their costume.

If you see two people in the same Raiden Costume, one is fat and one is skinny. You're going to naturally ink the person who is skinner looks better in the costume.

Works both ways. If you are a skinny guy cosplaying as Jabba the fucking Hutt, it won't make as much sense and won't look as good.

Cosplay to your body type and your look and you'll be successful. he reason people like Nigri and Yaya are "good" is due to the fact that they know how to work their costumes.

Right now nearly all of you ARE the age that anime/media in general cater to. So you have no trouble finding 475430586 characters who are just like you. It's gonna be really fun once you past that age.

Well, originally Jack Frost was a white settler in Pennsylvania during the 1600's. So there's really no way he could possibly be Asian, since they didn't settle in America until centuries later.

It's just stupid to say that she (you) is better than superior white cosplayers, especially those who put more work into their cosplays and did a better job.
