Can we have a kigurumi thread?

>Which Kigurumi's do you own (Pics are welcome)
> What kind of kigurumi would you like to see
> Best place to buy a kigurumi?

Pic related: Its my rilakkuma kigu, i love it so much. Its all warm and snuggly.

Kigu's i would love to see are a moonkin or murloc from World of Warcraft, although more pokémon are always welcome to in my world :D

selfpost because I'm a loser, but I love kigurumi for cons because they're easymodo and super comfortable.

My favorite places to buy kigus:
http://www.kigurumi-store.com/shop/
http://kigurumi-shop.com/

and ebay, but just for simple ones.

>> No.6692077

Also question, are there any normal bears out there? (So no panda, care bear, gloomy bear, rilakkuma or whatever). I want to buy one for my boyfriends birthday cause his nickname is 'The Bear', but everything is kinda girly

>> No.6692438

Does anyone have a basic pattern for these? I'd love to make a couple ones of certain characters

Yes! There are normal, non-character bear kigu. I think several different brands have their own version but if I remember correctly they're all pretty uguu...so if they're too uguu for your boyfriend you could always make one/have one commissioned for him.

Oh, and I happened to find one for sale while I was browsing the kigurumi tag on Tumblr.
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/111029873815?ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1555.l2649
It's being sold by Tumblr user holzical, if you're interested.

Where can I find a kyubey kigu that isn't $200?
Also I'd love to get a Charlotte kigu and wear Mami's wig underneath.

I have the summer version of Rilakkuma and i hate it. Its towel material/terry cloth. I also have the winter version of the cow and its so comfy and i love it. Fleece is soo much nicer.

My Korilakkuma kigu is the most comfortable thing EVER.

(this photo was to protest the snow one day. I hate snow and it makes Korilakkuma cry.)

Btw, best place to get them IN Japan is Don Quixote (aka Donki) - but be aware that during spring/summer, they only sell the terry cloth ones and in fall/winter only the fleece.

kigurumi-store.com just posted that they are releasing a kyubey one.

Would it look weird to make a Kigu out of flannel? Like the snuggle flannel from JoAnn's used for baby stuff? Or is it better just to stick with fleece? Also which is better, Polar or anti-pill?

>> No.6693365

>>6693361
Anti-pill tends to last longer and feel softer. You could also try one of the novelty texture fleeces, however. Like the ones that look like wool, but feel soft.

>> No.6693373

>>6693365
Oh yeah. I actually have a bit of it laying around. It was from some type of neck pillow case you buy at joanns. It was yellow and a similar wool like texture. I set it aside to make a mareep plush.

I'm not sure how much you know about fabric, but flannel would drape really weird. My sister made a kigu out of flannel we had lying around, and while it is't terrible, fleece is just a lot nicer to use.
