Acrylic should be fine, as long as you seal it afterwards. I've found that using Mod Podge on the shoes after the paint has dried works wonders. I wore mine through rain multiple times and they were totally fine.

With little experience, you can't exactly expect to have an easy time of it, nor to get it right on the first try.

On the other hand- I think that people should always push themselves to work outside of their comfort zone and take on new challenges. So I say go for it. Research as much as you are able and take it one step at a time. Just realize that it may take several tries before you get a suit which actually looks presentable.

I feel really stupid for asking about this, but I'm kind of stumped. I've been making a prince god tier, but I can't seem to figure out the gloves. I've never made gloves before, and the fingers are throwing me through a loop. Are there any methods of making these that you guys know of? Also, what fabrics should I use? I've been using kona cotton, but it doesn't have much of a stretch to it, so when I fit the gloves so they stay on my arms they do a lot of constricting.

Gloves with fingers are very when not in a knit/stretch fabric. The gloves look fingerless rather than even cutoff fingers imo so I'd just follow this and use like a cotton sateen or other nice cotton that has a slight minimal stretch.

I know broadcloth is a big no-no when it comes to cosplay, but I really don't mind when it's used for capes (like Dave's GT cape) as long as you line the fucking thing.

It has an okay drape and doesn't wrinkle after one wear, and it looks okay in person. I'm actually not all that hot on fleece/flannel capes since they usually clash with the other fabrics in a cosplay.

In some panels, John's pants and hood have been drawn the same color. Unlike the changes going on with Dave's palette, It's a pretty minor color difference, so if someone makes them both out of the same color fabric I don't begrudge them that.

Hey HSG, I decided about three days ago that I wanted to whip together something Problem Sleuth-y so I'm trying to finish Demimonde Semigoddess by the end of the weekend. I'm trying to style the dress like a modified greek chiton, the fabric is polyester crepe. Besides hemming it and making sure the seam is hidden on the folded-forward part, how can I make it look... well, better?(I know I need to replace the belt, this is just a convenient fabric scrap)

Oh wow this is really exciting! I'm cosplaying Demimonde Goddess in a few months so it's great to see another PS cosplayer working. I'm going for a similar look with mine, as well, and while it's tough to tell from the sprite, it looks like there's another layer of fabric coming down across on the right side. Maybe making the pink side shorter (to make the blue side look like one solid drape-y panel) and then having a longer piece come underneath it could make it look closer to canon? On that note, what are you doing for the headband? Since having it go around the entire head seems like it'd be a pain, I was thinking of making a kind of half-headband that would pin onto the wig, since the curls would hide the pins from view. But I'm still looking for ideas.

Thanks, that basically translates to forgoing the fold-over. The entire dress is one piece, folded down and pinned (will be sewn) at the shoulders. I'll mess around with the folded bit and decide whether it looks better without it.

I think a single strip of trim would be fine, so long as it was a solid colour and was sewn well. If you did a slightly darker blue and slightly darker pink where appropriate, it might make it look a little more cartoony like the sprite itself. Key is just to be honest. If it's a clash of style then the honest thing would be to say is you want to go in the direction of the photographer whose style you had in mind or were interested in. They might get hurt but I'm sure they'll understand.

I'm that Damara, I understand about the joints, my friend rolled them for me since I have no idea how to do it. As for the horns I'm going to be remaking them, I'm not sure how to do it though and what would look best, so would there be suggestions how to make a better looking prop joint and a good way to hide headband sufficiently?

If you can't roll for shit, and you don't have any friends who can, I suggest googling it or something. Though really, it isn't hard and you should be able to get it after a try or two. As for the headband, get rid of it and attach your horns to hair clips. Headbands are okay to stick under your wig so your horns poke through, but not with megido horns obviously.
