Anybody here live in the sacramento area? I'm moving to folsom next week and would love to know what kind of cgl related things I can do there? And if the people are nice?

Also where is the makeup thread? Am I blind or is it not up? I want to know how to lighten my eyebrows without dying them.

Also SacCon, which is a 1-day comic convention every couple of months or so. Based on the pictures from the last con, the cosplay quality has gone up considerably. UC Davis nearby has its own anime convention called DaiCon, I think, that's in the fall. Sacramento has another convention called Kintoki-Con in July. Everything else is in the Bay area, which is about 2 hours away, but not that bad.

If you're into Homestuck at all, there's also a pretty active Homestuck group here too. In general, the people are pretty nice but underaged as fuark

Folsom itself isn't too well known for it's anime fans. Like the others said though there's saccon, but I haven't heard great things.

A little off-topic, but the best restaurants in town are Mongolian Grill off East Bidwell and Chicago Fire in the Pilladio or downtown.
