I wouldn't say it would stay in colonial America. There were plenty of hints for Revolutionary France, which is FAR more interesting than pirates.
And I disagree with you a bit. The ship things got boring. And if it's going to be such a massive focus, it's just... Eugh. It'll be so ridiculously repetitive, like AC1 was.

I think it was the worst move they could even pull. I mean, pirates is all cool and stuff, but I had enough with the whole Jack Sparrow ordeal.

To be honest when I first heard of AC3, I wasn't looking forward to it, the time period and place seemed really weird to me. But once I played it, I loved it very much. And I'm sad that because of the lack of popularity Connor had, they are just ditching him for his grandfather. Really assholey move from ubisoft, will leave a lot of fans angry, specially if the guy turns out to be another Ezio.
I'd rather have another game with Connor this year, while they work on another one. This prequel makes me rather mad. Specially leaving he moderns the way it is. Just no.

On the good side, Connor's Grandpa look rather hot.

I've always liked the assassin designs but I could never really pull one off. They're all very aesthetically pleasing to look at and while I would love to make and wear one, I don't want to have /cgl/ and the SJW part of Tumblr up my ass for not doing it right/being female/being white. Altair would be my first choice since it's the most simple but I like the new design, too.

That's what I thought at first but then I realized that all I would really do to the costume is maybe make it a little more fitted but with something like in the OP, it wouldn't really matter. I have considered Claudia as well but I didn't play much of the games involving Ezio with the exception of some of the online stuff and none of those outfits appeal to me.

I would like to think that they are continuing with the modern assassins otherwise why would they set up Juno as a villain? And before people go all "But Desmond is dead how are they going back through the Kenways without him!" Edward has two kids. Haytham and Jenny. So this could very well be someone from that branch of the family? Just have to wait and see. I don't wanna sound like I have some stupid blind fan girl faith in Ubisoft but I don't wanna jump to conclusions either before we know everything.

I've always been teased for liking Altair more than Ezio despite his game being shittier and his attitude being harder to tolerate. I've had to defend why I think he had a harder life than the other assassins (what with how those around him died), whether or not he actually has a scar, why I find him attractive, and why I think he's actually a decent person after he sheds his pride.

I get this sense of twisted glee when I see all the weebs attaching themselves to Ezio and ruining it for my friends while they leave Altair, for the most part, alone. This is just the icing on the cake, because they're really abusing the flirty assassin persona now and my friend is getting fussy about it.

Have fun with your Italian weebs and your "lol Jack Sparrow cross shipping" weebs. I'll be over here with the original ancestor just kicking back.

I dunno I always thought it would be nice if Desmond's mind was trapped in the machine Juno had him touched. But then he becomes a guide to Eve's line. I just really liked Desmond and thought he got a shit deal with no solo game and as a character he was kinda wasted. (Like Connor)

Lets be honest, it became way more popular when Ezio came around. I'll admit I heard of Assassin's Creed first from a trailer of AC2. Found it interesting, but ended up enjoying Altair more.
Tons of people tend to skip Altair just for the purpose of "EZIO SO HOT OMFG ALSO RENASCENCE ITALY IS SO MUCH BETTER ALL THE LACE AND PRETTY WHORES"

It's a real shame, I feel like this could have been a new interesting IP as opposed to yet another AC game.

This patches and random fabric seem like it'd be frustrating to work with, but I'm shit at making my own costumes so whatever.

A lot of people who were later into the AC games just didn't pick up the first game when it came out. Then when they played the second game, playing the first was...tough, because they fixed so much with the second game. Altair didn't get a lot of the same treatment development wise that Ezio had until the later games/novels.
