Now, why are so mad about my comment anyway? I wasn't even criticizing her, as I explained. Just chill out.

It's that fucking print, the POWs and BAMs are so small and close together that they make her look like a walking magic eye picture from afar. The colors clash badly, in a way that's not charming, but almost dizzying. I like her hair like that though, I know she's probably doing the PROUD KINKY HAIR thing, which is perfectly fine, but it always looks flat and thin on her head, she needs some volume.
I would say this is more of a retro-throwback to fifties dresses. Especially with the cut of the top and the minimal details on the actual body outside of the print. The tights need to go, it's too much bright yellow when on her, yellow would look better muted as an accent.
She could also get some more fashionable glasses, becuase they are so plain that they detract from her outfits and seem out of place. It's not hard to coord some frames. Loose the bow-tie too.
Better than that red thing she wore the belt with, I got chewed out for daring to question her special individuality. It's fashion, but not lolita, and that's OK. You can enjoy and work with more than one kind of fashion movement outside of lolita and it's subsets.

I really, really like OP's look. I can't help it.

I'm IvyFrozen, Girl in OP's image. If I post on something about me, I identify myself, btw. I usually just grab the popcorn and watch these, laugh at the people who take it entirely too seriously and consider any actual suggestions I get. I agree it's not full lolita, but I felt it had lolita influence which is why I tagged it lolita. If people have suggestions for better tags, I'm certainly interested, as I really wasn't quite sure what to tag it.

The tights actually match the yellow on the dress and the shoes match the red. I was going for a primary color scheme. It's not a full coord as I wished to show off the dress. The belt is a little too light, which is throwing things off.

Honestly, it appears someone (or a couple people) just have some sort of vendetta against me at this point. OP, do you actually follow my work? I do quite I bit of stuff that is outside of kids bedsheet realm. This particular dress is actual fabric though. As I do have a lot of people who are fans of that work, I will coninue it. I have been trying to get away from working with prints more though, and I recently got a new, much bigger and better embroidery machine, so I'll be doing a lot more embroidery, and I have some original embroideries planned. I also have some florals planned for spring/summer as well as more rockabilly/pin-up/retro style pieces.

The only think I don't quite like about this is the tights. Yellow tights make everyone look like Simpsons characters, I think it might look cuter with ankle socks. I think some people are just a lot more likely to take things personally than others. I'm insecure, so if I were posted here, I would genuinely take it as someone disliking me - even though, logically, I know that's likely not the case. I think her dresses have potential, you guys seem to just show all her trainwrecks (some of her stuff actually looks nice). I've met this girl, she's very sweet and her AP 2nd Anniversary Coord was actually cute. Though I will agree that some of her stuff isn't exactly "lolita" or worth spending $100+ on.

Thanks to all of you concerned about me but I'm really just laughing at OP, and then I did things because I have a life beyond my computer. The post was about OP and only the posts OP identified themselves in, and as I said, was greatly exaggerated. I understand that multiple people don't like my clothing/outfits and that is fine. I have no problem with that. The only people arguing that people can't have differing opinions are some of the people who don't like my stuff. As I said you're welcome to, and I do cosider your opinion. I do consider all suggestions given. You guys kicked my butt in gear to start trying new things with my hair and really drove home that I really need to improve my photos.
