I just think there are ways to do make up and costuming that's appropriate for photoshoots, where you have ideal lighting and angles and then makeup and costuming for less ideal situations. Like, that makeup would look fine in a studio setting, but perhaps should've been done differently for trotting about in a con. Yeah OP's picture is pretty photoshopped but it still actually looks like Yaya her facial features aren't immensely distorted she's still distinct. There's nothing wrong with a polished photo. Calling it an illustration is going too far it's more of a very well polished portrait. And too often people forget that portraits are supposed to capture you in the best light possible so comparing an exhausted sweating Yaya with shitty phone photos with shit lighting at a con is kind of unfair.
