So another question... in general I know lolita clothes tend to be small. I'm fairly sure based on a few measurements I've seen around that my waist and hips will fit fine. But is a C (or D depending on the brand) bust too big for most of the brand blouses? Again I hate to ask new questions but I honestly dont know.

>>6573667
Measurements in lolita go by the actual bust measurement, not cup+band measurements. So you'll definitely need to measure your bust (and waist) with a measuring tape, most helpfully in cm, and keep those in mind to figure out what you fit.

>> No.6573684

>>6573674
>>6573674
Thanks! I think that covers my questions, I'll have to find a measuring tape and hope I fit.
I keep major tabs on my weight an fitness already, but not much one can really do about having a bust too large (besides try and lose more weight I suppose)

>> No.6573693

>>6573684
Yeah, for large busts I've read it's better to get custom sized blouses or to buy offbrand blouses from western brands that are loliable, and wear skirts with them. Unfortunately many brand items don't fit large busts very well (although there is brand that will fit, plus custom sizing on taobao).

If most of your size is in breast tissue and not your ribcage, you can try to bind your breasts to fit smaller items as well.

>> No.6573701

>>6573693
I might have to try the binding but hopefully I wont have to. Otherwise off brand is still a good choice.

>> No.6573843

I wouldn't really recommend binding or trying to stuff yourself into brand because then you get that really awkward boob loaf thing going on. I'm a 36D and I can fit into most brand fairly easily--shirring helps, as does the simple fact that many lolita brands are beginning to cater more toward western brands.

Actually I feel like once all those things were on, it wouldn't be too much apart from trying to hold a parasol and a fan. Lolita is pretty much a full-accessories fashion, and some of the smaller things like the rings/earrings/brooch wouldn't really be noticed too much. However, for me the bag doesn't really go.

Can someone coord this skirt for me please? I am in love with the style and the material but now that I have it, I am not sure how to coordinate this color. I dont like the way that JetJ presents it, that white blouse looks frumpy and out of place. I'm too lazy to shoop, but I'd probably pair that with a simple long-sleeved pussy bow blouse in a chiffon type fabric. Not sure how those work on your figure, but that's the first thing that came to mind when I saw the skirt (which is gorgeous btw).

I agree that a normal lolita blouse will look odd - high waists tend to make big busts look bigger, and so do high collared blouses. A slightly lower neckline would probably work much better for you.

I also like the idea of pairing it with pastels or muted colours, mint green/pink/lilac/sax or dusky pink/rose are the ones that spring to mind immediately. Navy would also be nice.

It made me think of this dress.

For general suggestions, it makes me think more of retro or otome inspired classic rather than sweet or gothic styles, matched with an A-line navy OP and boots in the same colour as the hat it could be quite awesome.

I think your instinct towards white is a good one; sticking to a neutral is a great way to let a dress's details really stand out without getting bogged down by too many accessories. However, if you want to add some color to it, I think a dusty rose color would be beautiful. I went with a beige x tan theme and also randomly threw the coat in because I found it and thought it was kind of cool.

Forever21 makes mustard tights and yellow chiffon blouses as well, if you wanted to go with a mustard/yellow coord.

And the mustard yellow sounds delicious! I'll check it out! I also love the coat too, I was looking for something a little different to go with the dress! I think this is a confirmed purchase! I'm excited!

I don't really see "classic" and that skirt happening... I suppose if there are dark burgundy/brown tones in there you could try bringing those out? Or the pale blues? Definitely not pink and gold, that will just get garish quickly

The pricey parts would be the jacket and the dress (which is probably somewhere around the 20000 yen mark retail price) - everything else is from forever21 so can be looked up on their website, and the jacket is already linked

>>6615164
I like the idea of pink with gold accents. I cheated and used the stock photo blouse as part of the coord (although meta have some nice blue blouses on sale!) as well as faberge jewellery because it was gorgeous, but etsy turned up plenty of gold egg themed stuff as well.

Could I get help with this ETC skirt please? I'd worked out a couple of ideas, but the background for the strawberries has turned out to be offwhite, not white, and that's kind of totally thrown me off for some reason.

I'd prefer tights over socks as I'm 180cm and I need the extra coverage. I'm also more into casual otome styles, but any help would be great, thank you!

How do I coord this skirt? Saw it for sale but not sure if it would look good on me. I think the colour is a lot more subdued irl. It looks like a odd shade of "pink" and I don't even own anything pink. As it's a skirt, I feel like it needs some balance to make it work. I could get the dress instead but it's more expensive and I'm not too sure about bustles.

Cream tights with a texture, cream blouse, brown bolero or jacket and shoes. Try to match the pink in a hair accessory and in something like a brooch.
This is a basic easy coord but there is a lot that can be done with that lovely skirt.
I could see a boater hat looking adorable in a coord with it also.
