I'm actually remaking the outfit! I'm really dissatisfied with the costume right now because of how it isn't all put together. The skirt is fine (the pleats needed to be ironed but we ran out of time) and the shirt was made the early morning of. I intend to remake the shirt because it wasn't finished how I wanted too and I knew it was going to pale in comparison to everyone else. I was basically the last to get fully dressed because I was trying to get the shirt finished.

The skirt(this was a wip with the pleats ironed out) and hair pieces were made ahead of time. The only thing that had to be made the night before was the shirt and it was because I fucked up the shirt the first time and I couldn't get more fabric for it until con since I wasn't able to meet up with the person who had the bolt for the green. I'm only remaking the shirt because the shirt is what was horribly made.

I'm not sure if you're posting that because we're supposed to find it impressive...? It's actually on the worse side when it comes to assessing pleated skirts. For one, where is supposed to be sitting on your body? Your waist or hips? That in-between area just creates awkward proportions.
Even in this dark/blurry image, you can tell how unevenly measured the pleats are. They're also not nearly as deep as they need to be- the fact that they separate so widely around the bottom hem is a huge giveaway. It looks like you didn't take the time to measure/pin the skirt properly. And if you did, you messed up pretty badly.
Honestly, you should be remaking the majority of your costume.

Shit I read that wrong. I read entire costume and not entire piece. But I did try to work on it and screwed up and couldn't get ahold of more fabric for it until con.

There was some other personal issues that happened that night that upset me that wasn't cosplay related that delayed me.

I fucked up and it showed though. I knew that making it so close to when it needed to be done was stupid, but that was how it went. These are 2" pleats and I was wondering if it would be better to remake it at 1" instead since my problem after making it was I thought the pleats were too wide? The bottom isn't hemmed though. Hmm I did measure them with a measuring tape but I'll try to measure much more evenly next time! It's likely that my measurements are slightly off since I didn't measure just the full way, so the sizes probably got a little off the farther I went on.

as for the routine in makeup?? i guess i just primer, concealer, foundation, powder, white eyeshadow on the inner corners near my tear ducts, brown eyeshadow on the outside, eyeliner, top lashes, bottom lashes, and then i added a hint of gold glitter eyeliner. i didnt have black lipstick though, so i used eyeliner for that too? it was horrible and it kept cracking, but most lipsticks arent pigmented enough and im not willing to dish out money for a high quality one :x

ok cool. so god tier mituna - the official shirt's so damn dark, i can't get the shirt symbol to show up in pictures and stuff. i tried washing the shirt over and over to see if it got lighter but that was a dumb idea

anyway my other ideas are: outline the symbol in fabric paint, or to sew a felt cutout of it over the shirt's symbol. any other ideas

Something Hope or Void colored, probably. It seems like the god tier shoes color correspond with an aspect that works opposite that one (?). (Heart/Mind, Time/Space, Breath/Light.)

The buttons are there to hold a 'flap' shut to let the wearer put the hood on over their horns/ears/head appendages without having to stick them through holes. I recently got the tights for my armsocks so I finally slipped my arm in to get an idea of what they would look like in pics, and to check to see if I would get elbow crease wrinkles when my arm is bent, which I do, even when I pinch a lot to make it tighter. I remember a while ago on HSG there was a discussion of armsocks and doing them properly (but I don't remember much from it) and how wrinkles can ruin the cosplay in otherwise perfect shots and I agree with that completely

Any ideas for fixes? I don't want to gray my arms cause makeup everywhere, even when I seal that shit 3 times (though I do like how it doesn't cover/smooth out the muscle tone in my arms like socks will do)

I need help. I like to cosplay Dirk, but I've got a really small frame. Are there ways I can tailor my shirts so they're more flattering? I can usually get them to fit pretty well in the waist/torso/chest area, but then I've got dumb baggy sleeves to show off my dumb spaghetti arms.

Does it matter what kind of skirt I use for Meulin? I'm currently debating whether I want to use a pencil skirt or a pleated skirt. What's your preference?

personally I'm going with a circle skirt because that's my favorite style. It's up to interpretation, but it's definitely fuller than a pencil skirt; so go with pleats or gathers or a circle, I'd say.

Organza or chiffon will block a lot of the detail. You'll still be able to see it in close-up shots and probably photography, but from far away it won't be nearly as noticeable.

Morphmask finally came.
I'm chopping the head off of my old morphsuit and substituting it with a new one... At least I'll be able to remove the head more easily now. What would be a good method for attaching the eyes? My old one obviously didn't work.
