How about a crosplay help thread

Bumping with gender bend manga

>> No.6609512

I'll bump since the make up thread isn't going anywhere for me.

Is there a way to make your neck look more masculine? I've got face make up down, but my neck is so pale and dainty that I was wondering if there were any tips to make it...less dainty?

I personally used this as a general little guide line for contouring (given to me by either Moogie or Crimson, can't recall), but to be honest I could use some more contouring help myself.

I wish I was more aware of what techniques would work best for my baby face. It's so round sometimes I wonder why I even bother crossplaying.

Thank you! This should help me out.

I'm still a newbie with contouring so I'm not much help, but I've learned that shading one area darker than the other gives you a different shape, like for my Flippy cosplay I put a lot of shadow around my eyes and bam I looked stressed out and exhausted. Maybe darker shading on the cheeks could help?

Don't give up, Boris~

Yeah I do that with my darker foundation around my cheeks/chin/neck area. I think I might need to work with highlights too? Maybe I should just take a day and play with makeup, see what I can do. I love it when you get to do more exaggerated stuff like shadows under eyes, it's fun isn't it? I like my Boris makeup a lot for that reason.

D'aww, thanks! You do your best, too!

Yes it is! I took a day to just goof around with make up. Saw a major transformation when I shaded where the beard would be for my France cosplay and when I tied his wig back. Much better. I also love, love playing with Hunter make up, especially the blood effects.

The next big task for me to tackle is making my Boris spots seem neat and symmetrical, goddamn. They're always so sloppy and just bluh.

Do you have any advice on things like applying scars since you've done all the blood effects before? I can always appreciate cosplayers who can pull off cool blood and wound work.

When I did my Boris spots, I must've played with the make up for a couple days just trying to get the right mixture of gray and the right size around my eyes. Seriously, I've still got pictures of my Boris makeup progress over time and it's crazy how much it's changed.

>>6609891
Do you think that you could get some advice if you posted a picture? I've seen some brolitas around here get some great advice with makeup. I'm no expert in makeup but I bet there are some people around here who could give you some advice based on your features.

Maybe Hideyoshi from Baka to Test.

Naoto Shirogane from Persona 4 and Kino from Kino's Journey are both meant to be andro. They have a very similar look so if you fit one you'll fit the other.

I've got make-up on in this picture, but here ya go. The cosplay I'm currently working on is Boudicca (Civilization V) because she's got manly as fuck shoulders, but ideas are being scarce to me. I'd love to learn tips on make-up and stuff, as I'm sure they'd help a bunch, so I will be monitoring this thread.

That's actually on my (very long) list of animu to watch. Will bump it up.

(and baka to test is surprisingly funny, go for it)

Yeah, well, um... I'm not a /cgl/ regular. Saw your picture in the "Recent Images" box on the front page. I clicked on it to, kind of honestly... ogle at pictures of the pretty girl.

Guess I'm trying to say the transitioning is going very well. I didn't get any sort of male vibe from your looks at all. Good job, girl.

I don't think you're ugly at all, but I think you can definitely improve your face by fixing your hair. Try a side part like >>6610034 suggested, because your forehead is quite large (no offense).

I just made a thread about it (and just deleted it), but I didn't notice this one existed.

I'm extremely inexperienced with crosplay... only did it once, mostly because I just lack the budget/friends to do it again.

I was told my greatest assets were my legs, which I used after-shave on. It's Tend Skin Liquid, although I'm not sure if it's quantified as an after-shave.

I used it every night and after every shave (Once a week, roughly). Razor bumps were non-existant, even in my inner thighs, which had stretch marks. Of course, this was bolstered by exfoliating semi-regularly and using lotion every day. But I swear my life on this product.

I don't do scars as much as I do gore and gashes. I've heard that BeautifulYouTV has a video on youtube about make up scars, but I've yet to check it out.

Thanks for bringing up scars though because that reminds me that I have to start working with scars for my upcoming Giroro cosplay.

Just a slight tip, don't shove your testicles in any holes they don't belong, they will get fucked up. A good way of hiding your natural bulge is to get 2 slightly tight jockstraps and wear them under other underwear. Then if possible put some spats on or something, it'll cover up your buldge without all the fancy work. Downside is its going to get really hot and sweaty down there.
