Plastic Surgery.
I'd like to hear some thoughts and opinions about it from you folks.
To keep it related, let's include discussion of cosplayers who have had it done and then denied it / put it down to photoshop and how they should have handled it / how it affected them.
Would you admit to having had it done if someone asked about your photos?

If you are considering having it done, post pics.

I have very little money. In fact, I'm in debt now and only making $400 a month. I still live with my parents, so I'm trying to get a second job while going to school part time (already have a BA but not all prereqs for my masters program).

I'm saving up as much as I can once I pay off my debt. If I get the job in hoping for, I'll have enough money by spring next year.

I could also get a loan for it

There are a lot of things I want done, and when I say a lot I mean a lot. Like, I want nearly everything done.
However, everything I want is very minor. So I'd get a lot of really small changes, only people who really spend a lot of time with me would notice a difference.

I want my cheeks done, fat taken out and an implant to make my cheek bones higher. However taking the fat out might be enough.
I want my nose done, just a few MM shaved off the top and sides.
I want my hairline lowered, and evened out more. As well as some bosley hair restoration to make my baby hairs not exist anymore.
I possibly want my eyebrows raised, this one I'm not sure though.

I want full body lipo with tucks to match if needed, a breast augmentation, rib removal, leg lengthening, full body hair removal, and facial lasering to get rid of scaring. I want my teeth to be fully redone, new shape, new color, veneers over each one of them.
And obviously fillers and botox for life to keep up my plastic appearance.

I think surgery is fine as long as you're only getting it done to fix massive physical deformities. If you're on your 500th surgery at age 72 still trying to look 16 there is a huge problem. People also shouldn't deny it, it makes them look stupid.

That's probably one of the biggest negatives of plastic surgery for me. >> No.6606555

Hm, that might get a little costly, then! A lot of people get nose jobs, and it looks like you dont' want to drastically change the shape of your nose but just make it smaller and more, I dunno, streamlined?

I haven't told my parents that I'm planning on it yet, but I found out about a year ago that my mom had something done. She still has a pretty weak jaw, but apparently it was WAY worse before.

I have perpetual eye bags and have been trying to get rid of them since I was in middle school. My mom has been helping me and has bought me eye creams and such to reduce the puffiness. They don't work, so she said once that she guesses my only option is PS. Not sure if she was joking or not.

Yeah, I'm sure she won't care about me getting my eye bags fixed, especially since the estimate I got was max $2000. That's something I can save up for in no time. The bit I want to change about my nose might be less cool for my parents, so I'm not sure I'm going to tell them about it. I'm on the fence, though, because my nose really doesn't look bad from the side, or really even from 3/4 view, but it often looks horrid from face on pictures. It's what makes what I want done so costly. The other procedure I want was also estimated at max $2000.

How do your parents feel about your nosejob? And honestly, your nose doesn't look bad. I didn't even see why you want the top shaved!

My mother is supportive. My sister had surgery when she was even younger than me, so she can't really allow one child and not the other. I haven't been brave enough to tell my father. He's the sort of man who LOATHES the idea of cosmetics.
It really, really does. The thing is a blight on my face- though I guess it runs in the same vein of "every artist is their own worst critic". Might I ask what it is you want done with yours/ think is wrong with it?

>> No.6606586

Anything to fix my weak jaw. I love the rest of my face, but I can't stand how my profile looks from the side. I just want more definition so there is a border between my face and my neck. Even when I was younger and below what was healthy for my weight, I just didn't have much of a chin or jaw. Now that I'm average in weight and in my mid-twenties its something I hate about myself every day.

It depends. Usually it's just getting rid of the fat deposits under your eyes. It can also be repositioning that fat so your eyes don't have a bit of hollowness that a lot of eye bags have.

This is true, but be careful, because you need that fat as you get older. I can't tell properly with your picture, but my cheeks look like they're chubbier than yours. I asked many surgeons about buccal fat reduction and facial lipo, and they said it might hollow out my cheeks way too much when I'm older. I looked up reviews for buccal fat pad reduction, and almost everyone regrets it, because doctors take too much out or make it uneven. Facial lipo is a lot better than buccal fat reduction though. I think facial lipo is more like a face lift of sorts.

At the same time, cheek implants can be uneven. If they use analogous tissue, like your own fat, it can end up lumpy.

Pic unrelated.

Ah, yeah. I think I gave you advice before, but I'm not sure you saw it. My eye bags are pretty similar to yours. The cream actually works on one eye but not the other, too...

You can get lower blethroplasty. I think I spelled that correctly. You can get it in America. I believe the average cost is like $3,000 here? In Korea, it costs anywhere from $1,500 to $2,000. You can also just get the fat (which is make your eye bags all puffy like that) re-positioned. It looks like you have a bit of a hollow underneath them.

I think you actually have love bands (aegyosal) with one eye having an eye bag underneath.

You have pretty eyes, though.

Without surgery, wear dark circle lenses. Brown preferably. Thicken your eyebrows. Your eyes don't look asian because your folds don't start where asian folds do, but I think that if you flatten your bridge, you'll look a lot more asian. Your folds don't look very large. They're just parallel looking rather than tapered. Asians do get parallel lid surgery, but it's called more unnatural looking than tapered.

I feel you. If that's the only cosmetic procedure you want done, I really think you should just get it done in the USA unless you're going to China or South Korea for some reason already. The healing time for lower blepharoplasty (correct way to spell it; i looked it up) is 7-10 days. China can provide good surgery, too, especially for something standard like that.

I can't really even use moisturizer without it happening, so add all of my face makeup, eye make up, and lenses once in a while and they look fucking awful. My mom has the same problem and her eye veins are big and hard looking. Apparently there's a surgery where they remove the entire layer that has those veins in them, and a clear one grows back. So yeah, want. I'd also like my nose shaved a bit and my jaw straightened, but meh. I hate my bellybutton too but we'll see.

The surgeries you want are definitely not minor, wtf. With the waist thing, have you tried waist training? My lowest weight gives me a 23.5" waist (although to be honest, I could probably lose 5 more pounds if I really really worked on it and it might go smaller) which I can cinch to 20" easily, so if you have a 21" waist you could probably get it to 18-19" with a corset, and usually people say with long term waist training that their uncorsetted waist loses at least an inch anyway! That's much less painful/expensive/risky than rib removal. You would definitely want a custom made corset for that though.

Like most Asians I just want rhinoplasty. However, there are too many "against" reasons for me to ever get it done. After working in a hospital, I hate the idea of unnecessary surgery and wouldn't be able to take enough time off work for no-one to know, plus I'd hate it if future kids inherited my nose and didn't know where it'd come from.

Man, all of you guys posting that you want surgery are already beautiful. Even that kawaii as fuck blue haired girl. Your face is the most beautiful of all. How can you want to change yourselves? You were born this way, this is you, that's your face and no one else has it but you. I was always insecure about my nose as I don't have a very defined bridge, it's uber long and large, but it does suit my face. Looking at Lady Gaga, she is so beautiful to me because she doesn't hide anything. She works with what she's got. I used to hate her big nose too, because it reminded me of my own, but her confidence won me over. I couldn't change myself now. I couldn't look in the mirror and know that I'm not the way I was supposed to be. I've grown into my nose also, I've just had to get used to it and learn to love it as it is a feature that is mine and makes me different.
Of course, it is all your choice and if you really think anybody notices that 2mm difference on your nose, or notices a slight increase in your cheek bones or thinks you are less of a woman because you have 10A boobs like me, you're doing it for the wrong reason. My flat chest may prevent me from wearing the sexiest bras, but I've never been turned down because of my lack of chesticles. But if you really can't stand your nose because it isn't like Angelina Jolie's or your chin just doesn't have that point that you think would suit it, don't dive into it. Buy your house, your car, pay off your education first. Plastic surgery should never trump anything in your life. Your beauty is not more important than the roof over your head or your career and education. Just remember that.

I rather go off to work to pay for my house, my car, and finish paying off my student loans after looking at a beautiful face in the mirror. I don't want to go, "oh, here's another day. I can't wait until I pay off all this in a few years so I can finally fix my own face."

I used to really hate the way I looked, but getting braces in middle school through high school practically reshaped my entire facial structure. And even though I'm not a huge fan of my profile because my cheeks kinda hide my pretty cheekbones and my nose is strong, I've learned to be okay with them, mostly because makeup can bring emphasis to my cheekbones and my nose is very "elvish" as my boyfriend puts it, so its not got a knot in the bridge or anything, it's just a strong nose instead of a little button nose.
If I were to get anything done now, I'd get the neck area tightened. Grabbed a pic from google; it's what I want to have done. I hate it because it's like an extra flap of skin for no reason, and I feel like it ruins my profile more than anything else on my face. From the front I like how I look, but my profile just makes me sad.

Now for staying on topic, I'd have to be honest if someone asked while I was in cosplay. I don't feel like people should be embarrassed about having work done. However, I'm also not going to shove it in people's faces if I had work done, because most people probably wouldn't give a shit.

I don't even know how I would write a list since I pretty much hate everything about myself and would want to change a lot. My family has no money and I have no job so it's something I can only think about. I don't really allow photos of myself to be taken because of how I look so lots of people wouldn't know.
There's a big bump on my nose so I would want that shaved and my chin is too long or square so I would get that fixed. I find Asian faces aesthetically pleasing so I guess a flatter face that people are suggesting here would be good. My hips/waist are uneven which makes me look deformed but that might not be a cosmetic issue.
I just want to be a different person really. There's too much to change and I'll never be happy with just one adjustment. I'll probably off myself before I get enough money for anything.

Sorry to burst your bubble but making your eyes "Asian looking(adding of an epicanthic fold)" is not only incredibly risky but according to surgeons an atypical procedure most surgeons would advise against. I could not find a single person who thought it would be a good idea. All surgeons said the result would not be natural and
the surgery not safe

And seeing as you're young don't you think this sudden desire to look Asian will pass and you'll feel foolish for ever wanting to change you appearance so much?

I looked up "rhinoplasty" on tumblr. I unsurprisingly got links to sugar babies. You know, girls with sugar daddies? A lot of them seem to get at least 5k a month allowance and some help for their plastic surgery.

Personally, I would feel really shitty asking my parents or boyfriend for help unless they were loaded. Or unless it was medical in some way or a deformity like cleft palate, then I would have asked at a young age from my parents. In the end, I'm just going to save. I need about 10k for everything including room and board at the hotel and transportation costs. I should be able to save 1.5k a month beginning in May if I don't buy food outside or spend anything on taobao.

However, for people getting jaw surgery and stuff, I think they can sometimes get insurance to cover it. Same with medical things. I don't know how people pay for breast augmentation AND rhinoplasty, though because those are both very expensive.

I am absolutely having it done.
I get mistaken for a guy, a crossdresser, or just called ugly at very least once a month.
I think most of it is my jaw, so I'll have that shaved/reduced. If that doesn't fix it enough I'll get something to make my face a bit fuller (not very common but I've seen it)
Once the basic face shape is done if I have money I'll get the bump in my nose removed and fuller lips, but really I just don't want to be mistaken for a trap/man anymore

As far as admitting to having it done - of course, it will be obvious. I don't see why anyone would deny it, it's pretty hard to cover that up.

So, my nose looks like some weird blend of the Olsen twins' and Elle Fanning's. I really want to get it thinned because it's just so harsh and it doesn't match the rest of my face at all. I'm really scared that my nose will end up looking fake though, because it's not like they're just shaving down a bump - they're reshaping my entire nose. Every time I make a consultation appt. I freak out and cancel it because I'm so apprehensive. I just turned 19 and I don't want to regret the surgery and live the rest of my life hating myself even more. Does anyone have any advice or experience with thinning a nose? Should I wait a few more years and see how I feel or just go for it?

Yes, some girls get their SDs to pay for more surgeries, but the few I've seen pictures of are pretty hot already. You should aim for the kind that are less of a sugar daddy and more of a rich boyfriend who wants to spoil you. Try /soc/ age gap threads.
Worked for me.

I'd like to have my teeth straightened, if it's possible without braces. They're slightly warped but not enough for me to want to wear braces to correct them. Also whitened or capped, if that would keep them white. But I don't think that counts as plastic surgery.

I'm also uncomfortable about my vagina, honestly. I don't want porn-star perfect, but I've got an outtie, as they say... and a more noticeable one, at that. I feel uncomfortable in bed with my partner and when wearing tight pants with thin fabric. I avoid wearing bikini-bottom swimsuits. Perhaps a labia reduction is in my distant future if it continues to bother me.

I'd also like laser hair removal and laser-eye surgery.
If I end up somehow growing larger breasts, I'd also like a breast reduction. My breasts are pretty small, but since I went on birth control, they've gotten larger. But I don't think they'll get any larger unless I gain weight--which I'm trying to do to the opposite, so hopefully I can figure myself out.

Ladies, do you think all of us get hit on all the time? I don't want to sound conceited, but let me tell you about my experience

I thought guys found me ugly and unattractive. I only had two friends, though I didn't really care. A new friend entered my circle, and he would report to me that so-and-so was talking about how good I look or how another guy wanted a "piece of me." My friends thought it was funny that I never noticed, so they started pointing out guys who were checking me out. At the mall, some guy said he wanted to fuck me right in front of my dad (I was ahead of him).

You might just not notice. None of these guys have ever approached me. The few guys who have confessed to me (like what, 3?) have each done so after YEARS of friendship me. After I graduated high school and left for college, I got a couple of messages on facebook from guys I NEVER spoke to in high school saying they wished they had talked to me.

So don't feel so down, okay? Guys are shy, too.

Sage for my conceited story.

I think it probably means that you're approachable and attractive. I know how you feel, though. Everyone has always told me how intelligent I am, so I struggled to become the best at everything academically. I burned out trying to prove everyone right and not let anyone down. Like you, I got paranoid that people were just telling me I was so smart because they had nothing else to say about me.

Please don't get too worked up about it or get plastic surgery because you feel like you have to be perfect for other people. I'm sure you can burn out over looks the same way I burned out over academics.

My parents have never told me I'm beautiful or pretty to my recollection, but they've always told me that I'm smart. I can assure I have considered this, hence the "Jerk Syndrome" concept I mentioned.

>This is a condition that may be experienced by a woman who is so beautiful, so alluring, that any man with half a brain isn't even going to think about asking her out, because it's obvious she's too grand for the likes of him.
>This leads her to believe that the problem is at her end, and that there must be something wrong with her.
>This persists until she meets a man who does not have half a brain (i.e. is too stupid to realize she'll likely reject him, or is so used to rejection that it doesn't bother him, or has some other flaw that stems from an even more major flaw), and he does in fact ask her out, and she is so grateful that she says yes.

The context in which this is described is regarding a very attractive pole dancer who's dating a character who needs a certificate to prove that he is human. (So a very extreme case.) While I don't think I'm anywhere near that, but I do realize that I might not be noticing (as I did have a friend tell me once that some dude at a con was checking me out. Oh and cat calls. They are the worst.) It's just aggravating that any male interaction that I have is... not reassuring at all.

All I can say is start taking care of yourself if you don't already. I didn't realize until well after and I gained the weight back, but my metabolism went through a boost (like it knew puberty was on its last leg and wanted to finish things off) so instead of gaining 15 lbs freshman year of college like the norm I lost about that much. Maybe more. From doing nothing. I've steadily gained the weight back since and now I wish I maintained the weight. My current boyfriend I knew from an online forum and through another girl I'd met online, despite the fact that we ended up having quite a few acquaintances/friends in common. Heck, ask someone to introduce you to someone - even if it doesn't work out you might meet someone else on the way. Pretty much the only way to meet someone is to get out and meet people. Cons are about the worst places to meet guys, and drunk at a bar is not a good way either. Did you make any moves with the online dating or did you wait for guys to ask you there? Everyone who sees pictures of me that isn't a plastic surgeon always thinks that it's my jaw as well! Not sure if you're implying it's my jawbone, but other people have before. I never thought it was until I webcammed with some strangers from tumblr, and some girl told me my jaw is fucked up. Then I started to wonder if it wasn't just chubby cheeks.

It's actually my cheeks/jowls/whatever. American surgeons have been discouraging me from changing it, even though my right side is clearly puffier and bigger than my left. At first I consulted two American doctors and asked them if it was actually a jaw thing, and they said it definitely isn't. It's subcutaneous fat combined with flat cheeks.

I never even noticed it until I started cosplaying and saw all those pictures of myself.

Thanks for the advice, I have read about ear and rib cartilage implants, but those seem to have complications rather often. I don't want to end up having to do multiple surgeries so I'm not considering that option for now. Contouring helps too, so I'm not too bothered about the flatness (I didn't have makeup on there).

I like your nose! Your chin may need some definition, but I don't think it's that obvious in photos.

I think with a bit of contouring your nose would look less bulbous, and maybe you could try using some highlighting powder in the middle of your chin to make it more prominent.

As far as I've heard they don't really work, nor would I expect them to. I'd imagine they'd end up shaping/bruising the skin long before they could affect the cartilage. Remember, cartilage is pretty resilient (unless it's in your knees but that's because of the stress of holding body weight).

I can only imagine what people wanting extensive plastic surgery will be like once we get into merging with cybernetics, like prosthetic limbs and what not. Finally a thread where I can contribute! I'll be going to Seoul this summer to have consultations with 3 clinics. I'm definitely getting tipplasty, alar reduction, and lateral canthoplasty, but I'd also like a procedure that will reduce the width of my face from the front. I've been planning this for a long time, and I feel like all the self-loathing is going to eat me up, basically. My nose is too big for my face and I'm disgustingly unphotogenic because of my the bone structure around my eyes. Having a second-cousin who looks like you but twice as pretty and thin really kills self-esteem.

Some advice/info I can offer (which is pretty much repeated from another forum) for getting PS in Korea:
1. Pay in cash, if you can. Usually clinics will give you a discount for this and getting multiple procedures done at one time.
2. Find a reliable translator. Some of you can probably navigate your way through the city alone, but I've heard of translators who'll haggle the price down. But foreigners will always have to pay more, that's just the way it is.
3. Don't always believe before-after pics. There were accusations from a forummer that a clinic was doing some shady photoshop (I THINK it was ID...but they're just shady in general). One tell-tale sign was elongated pupils.
4. Do lots of research right now. E-mail doctors, read blog entries by people who've gotten it done (xiaxue, jacquelinekoh), narrow down clinics, prepare questions to ask during the consultation, etc etc.

Some clinics with English websites: BK, ID, OZ, View, Teuim, Banobagi, Wonjin, Small-Face

I think if someone gave it some serious thought (I'm talking years) and 100% thought that if they got the procedure done it would make them a happier person, then go for it.
That being said, I have tiny A cup boobies and a big bumped nose and I would never change them. As a kid I thought I wanted to, of course, but I grew out of that mindset. It freaks me out to even think about permanently changing my body. I wouldn't feel like myself anymore. I'm not saying I'm a better person because of this, it's just how I feel. While surgery is obviously more drastic than getting a tattoo or a piercing, it's still a form of body modification and whether you get it done or not shouldn't determine whether you are more or less 'real.' (An attitude of surgery being REQUIRED should be avoided, but having it as a choice is fine.)

Of course there are plenty of people who get surgery done to fit in and they act pretty fake. There are plenty of people who get tattoos who get them to fit in with their groups. You may not like the reasons, but it's their choice. I think you are being put off by the personalities and views of some who get surgery rather than the surgery itself.

View, Chungdam-U (at dryang.co.kr I would've put it on the list but the ENG link on their site isn't working for some reason) and Teium, but I'm pretty sure I'll go with View in the end. I planned to do it in 2015 but since I'm moving to a place where no one knows me... I'll just be traveling with my mom, but travel buddies are excellent. They really cut the cost down of the room/apt if you decide to share and you have someone to talk to during the recovery. What are you getting done anon?

BK and ID are two that I'm wary of. Though both have very capable chief doctors, BK has had lots of complaints apparently and I've heard ID switches out docs to train newbies after they put you down...

Yeah, that's what I've heard, too. That's awesome that you're going with your mom! I wish mine could come with me.

So far, I really love Wonjin. I like their work and what they told me through their online consultation was exactly what I wanted to hear, pretty much. However, they were the only ones not to give me a price quote. I pretty much asked around to the clinics I hear the most about just to get their opinion on which procedures I should get done and also estimate the cost. Someone told me Wonjin is pretty pricey.

I've heard a lot of bad things about BK. I don't remember hearing bad things about ID, but I know that they haven't gotten back to me yet. Grand was really prompt, and I've heard a lot of good things about them, so I might be leaning towards them. They also quoted me pretty low prices compared to even BK, which is a plus.

I'm >>6608102 so basically something for my eye bags, droopy cheeks, and nose. Maybe I'll email View and Teium, too, since I have seen their names around a lot.

I cosplay and I've had some reconstructive surgery done. It's kind of noticeable because it's right below my eye and I have eyebags from working nights, you can see a line from it fairly prominently when I'm tired. I don't have a photo handy, unfortunately.

Personally, I think cosmetic plastic surgery is dumb and vain, but I'm not going to rag on someone about it if they've had work done. The only thing I hate is fake boobs. They just never look good to me, no matter how well they're done. Maybe 'cause I'm a proponent of flat chest, I guess.

Seems like everyone's getting the same results as you. Wonjin just refuses to give a price estimate. It wouldn't hurt to get a physical consultation with them when you're in Seoul, but yeah the pricetag might sting.

That's why I considered those two also. Someone posted a huge doc of b/a photos and View had that look I wanted.

I forgot the price of this one type of place, but they basically provided even 1 meal a day or constant soup or something, and it was cheaper than a hotel. Looking on airbnb, the cheapest you can stay somewhere is a miniroom for 15 a night. Flats and apartments go for as low as 30. The people on the forum said you might even be able to haggle with people since they're renting it out privately.

And did you get your translator yet? Some people on my forum actually live in Gangnam and seem to rent rooms and act as nannys or translators. Or at least one guy is thinking about it and has friends that does it? Something like that. There are also reviews on specific translators. Because of this, I'm limited to cosplaying characters who are dressed extremely modestly and I can probably count on one hand the amount of people who have seen my bare legs over the past ten years.

>>6608719
For example, after liposuction, you need to spend $300 on these wetsuit-like things to hold your excess skin in and even then the skin might not spring back in, you have to pay for further surgery to remove the excess skin.

Lots of implant type surgeries like rhinoplasty have a problem where the part of the face that had the implant put in doesn't age the same way as the rest of the face, resulting in Michael Jackson. Yet others like fat/collagen/whatever injection? Hardly last a month. So what happens is that after the very awkward looking jaw shavedown and whatnot and your face returns to "normal", the doctor injects some plumpers to make your face look more natural, and after a month when the plumpers are gone, the post-surgery face comes in, you realise you have to live with this face and that becomes a huge disappointment.

After a certain size, boob jobs require the pectoral muscles to be cut into and the implant inserted below the muscle. Sometimes the implant doesn't "take", and it irritates the area, and you feel excruciating pain with the implant jiggling around in a puddle of your own blood - or at least that's what the client described how it felt. It's also noted that women universally choose about 3 sizes too big for an implant, dunno why.

>> No.6608866

>>6608864
Laser and light pulse clinics often burn and scar the skin inside (and you can't tell because it's inside, you just think it hurts a lot), or leave hilarious zebra stripes of hair behind. Anywhere that's not scarred, the hair eventually does grow back - give it about 2-3 years. Considering most people go to laser clinics being promised permanent hair removal, you can see why this would be frustrating.

Also, once a skin has been messed with, it ages funny - especially around the eyes. The normal creases and drooping that should happen look really unnatural when it happens after the skin there is stretched and sewn up to wherever. Plus the older you get, the thinner and more fragile your skin gets, and from a point onwards you cannot get any more surgery done even when it is necessary (for example, a lot of older people experience eyelashes curling into their eyes so they remove excess skin around the eyes).

After that they pretty much said "fuck it" and gave me a retainer that was like the invisaline piece. If I left it out for more than an hour and tried to put it back in it gave me a headache. That one also broke after wearing it for about 6 months (still with persistent headaches at the time too.)

Turns out all 4 of my wisdom teeth are coming in impacted and the dentist never did anything about it (I got the braces when I was in 4th grade and had them until Junior year of HS.)

My teeth were better off BEFORE he initially spread them out. They may have been screwed up but now I have a giant gap from him spreading my jaw out.

I'm shaped like a 5'7" elin/imp midna. It's not cute, it's just so weird so don't be jealous. I'd rather be an apple because at least you have nice legs and nice legs are everything I want.

I'm not you, no, haha. I'm mixed Asian and white (both of my parents are mixed also to different degrees). My mother has a perfect, tiny nose. Everything about it is just right and cute. My father has a more white nose, but it suits his face. It's like I got my father's nose but... bigger? And it's not feminine at all.

I only know one person who got laser hair removal. He's my coworker's boyfriend. He's in his 30's and got the hair on his back lasered off. Apparently he's really happy with it, and it's been a year. All the reviews I read online by women are horrible, though. I wouldn't recommend it. I feel your pain, though. I shave a big fraction of my body, but I've been doing it for years, so I'm pretty efficient and timely with it.

>>6608871
Holy shit, did your orthodontist not make sure you got your wisdom teeth out!? You're supposed to get x-rays done every year or something by your dentist. Since I was 16, I've been getting x-rays 2+ times a year to see if my wisdom teeth are ready to be removed. I got my braces off when I was 12.

I've been trying to read about permanent body modification by tight lacing. It looks like more shapely girls are able to get a 1"-2" reduction off of their waist long term. For girls who are skinny (like flat stomach), it looks like results last maybe 36 hours.

Like >>6609006 said, the grass is always greener on the other side. I see where you're coming from. I find pear shaped girls really cute only when they're tall and really thing (so their legs are still really skinny but they have giant hips) or they're short -- which is cute. You're kind of tall, so tall plus huge thighs can be less cute and more scary.

I personally love pear shapes. I'm not sure what I am (33-23-34 so either rectangle or small hourglass), but I know my sister is one of those skinnier pears. She has super long, thin legs but huge hips. I'm so jelly. Especially since she can literally never gain fat on her arms.

>tfw all your friends have no upkeep issues but you are DER SCHWARZWALD after a few days of slacking off

It's slowly morphing me into whatever the body hair version of the "I hate them skinny bitches" landwhale is. Don't spend an hour plucking/waxing? FUCK YOU, YOU SMOOTH WHORE

I'm saving for laser hair removal, but despite it coming along nicely I'm going to have a hard time dumping this money for vanity. This thread was nice for eroding some of that "this could feed a lot of third world orphans" guilt.

I feel a little guilty, too, but then since I'm the one paying for my own procedures, I just remember that yeah, I'm the one that worked my ass off for that money. The money's mine.

Would I give it to charity if I wasn't going to get work done? No, let's be honest, I wouldn't. I volunteer occasionally, but I never donate money. I'd spend it on clothes or eating at restaurants.

You only spend an hour?

Feel lucky.

I'm too blonde with ginger pigment to get laser hair removal. fml.
Then again, I've stopped shaving (well. still shave armpits) because fuck this gay earth and only get sugaring done on my legs during summer plus pluck my beard.

At this point I'm just kind of assblasted I feel guilt about this shit when people with the kind of money to do something about it and still live quite comfortably do not.

Although if I ever get that rich I'm also holding free hair removal lottos for bear women like me. This condition is so disheartening sometimes.

It takes me about 15 minutes to shave my arms, back, legs, and "down there." Waxing and epilating don't work for me. My hair is way too thin everywhere, yet it's black against my white skin.

I don't ever post here, but I've wondered what your opinion about "leg lengthening" is.

I am a 5'7" male, and I want to be 6'ish. I think it would look weird to get that surgery done. Proportionally I mean.

This happened to me, too! My wisdom teeth grew in and broke my bottom retainer clean in half and now my front two bottom teeth overlap a little and it looks really bad. (My top row looks fine though.)

The worst part is that my orthodontist is really pissy at me for this WHEN IT'S PARTLY HIS FAULT. Every time I went to him, he was like, "I don't think you need to have them out yet."

And my dentist would just go along with what he said. I am so angry that my parents essentially wasted half of their money. I don't want to ask them to pay for another round because they'd just get mad, but I don't want to wait until I'm in my late twenties when I can pay myself because then it will take 3-4+ years to do what could have been done in one now.

Everything I've read about leg lengthening for purely cosmetic reasons sounds awful. You can usually only add 2-3 inches to your height.

According to this article,
http://theweek.com/article/index/2875/limb-lengthening-the-radical-w-plastic-surgery-craze
>Even if the procedure is performed flawlessly, it's excruciatingly painful, and doctors don't prescribe anti-inflammatory painkillers because they might inhibit bone growth.

Also, for cosmetic procedures, they usually only lengthen your shins. Adding 2-3" would actually look pretty good since the human body looks kind of squat, but 5" might look weird depending on what your inseam to height ratio is.

If I recall correctly, an average inseam to height ratio is .46. Aesthetically pleasing leg lengths usually fall above that .46, but not more than 5" more than what the .46 ratio inseam value is... If that makes sense.

In any case, it's painful and if you aren't suffering in your life because of uneven legs or dwarfism, I don't think that it's worth it.

I read about a lady who wanted to be a lawyer, but was afraid that she wouldn't be taken seriously because she was short, so she had it done. I'm in the same position as her, aspiration-wise, but I would never have it done, it sounds much too painful. Like the other anon said, it only adds 2-3 inches, so even if I did have it done, it wouldn't have that much effect on me, and I'd still be far below average height. My general opinion on the procedure is the same as my opinion on cosmetic procedures in general, I don't care what others do, and I'm not going to judge them on it. You're only an inch or two below average, you're not THAT short for a male.

Not always. Moles can become cancerous. A friend of mine had her's removed for that reason (and because it was on her face and fairly large to begin with and would only get bigger. So pretty was a factor, but she also didn't want to deal with skin cancer later.)

We're just one law firm out of hundreds, and not that many people actually elect to go through with cosmetic surgery. But the laser skin burn issue was so bad, the business bureau put out mandatory warnings.

Teeth girl here
I remember getting tons of x-rays but the dentist kept saying I'd be fine and that I wouldn't need to get them taken out despite my other 2 siblings getting at least 2 of theirs pulled. I really wish he had just done it. I would have been off a lot better had he done so. I went through years of torture for those damn things and to have the teeth I have now even after all that seriously upsets me.

>>6609199
My teeth are being pushed forward because of it so it actually feels weird to try and hold my lips closed. My dentists pretty much pulled the same thing (see above.) and really wish he had just gotten it done and over with. I wish there was some way I could force his office to fix them free of charge because of how much my family paid (without the promised results.)

I'm so self conscious of it that I NEVER smile in photos now because I hate my teeth... just typing this out makes me teary eyed ;_;
